i love some of the bands in both emo and screamo or whatever, the rest I don't care for and i'm mostly not interested in finding new bands in the genre.

I still listen to it quite a bit, and probably once every couple months I'll binge and try to find a cool new band, but it's getting rarer that I'll find anything I'll listen to for more than 3 days.

my band played our first show a few days ago in the basement of like some 17 year old scene kid and all the other bands playing were like scene metalcore large bundle of stickss and then we went on at the end and it was like 8 people playing and we had a strobe light going the whole time we broke out into the chorus of oasis' champagne supernova at some point yeahhhh

what kind of music you playing?

idk me and my friends just smoke blunts and then jam in the garage and it got to the point where it was sounding good enough that we were like lets start playing shows, so all of our stuff is improv, id say it comes out sounding something like broken social scene, mewithoutYou, maybe even a day in black and white. very angular, percussion driven stuff, we like to get everyone singing and then cut out and stuff and play around with harmony and stuff its real fun

I'm going to powertab out some hardcore songs I wrote and send them to some dude I go to school with. I'm hesitant to call them pop-punk because they're really not, I guess I can compare them to something like Kid Dynamite, where it's hardcore but it doesn't necessarily take itself 100% seriously.

We need a drummer though, and those are hard to come by, but I'm sure we could find somebody. Drummers seem more laid back than other musicians, they'll play pretty much anything because they just like jamming in general.

Modern emo is so stale. Battle of Wolf 359 and Alpinist are the only recent bands that grabbed me.

the only bands around i like that come off the top of my head are battle of wolf 359 and loma prieta.

aside from that i think ...who calls so loud (i really liked them, even got to play a show with them) broke up and ill start considering ctts a band thats around when they release their album.
