^^^ Sounds like what happened to Milli-Vanilli.

Edit to quat.

TomJoad 10-25-2004 04:28 PM

I'm listening to some Cynic now and they are pretty good.
Okay, wtf. Wtf, wtf, wtf.

After days of not getting tired until like 5 am and in some cases midday, I have know gone to bed at 1 am, gotten to sleep at 2 am, and woken up compeltely refreshed at 6 am.

Something ain't quite right with me.
I'd kill for having that ability, sometimes I sleep almost 10 hours and I'm still tired. But I read somewhere that if people had good sleeping habits, and with some mental exercises, we would only need 15 min a day of sleep!!

So maybe you're just ahead of us, and the couple of hours you're sleeping are way better used than ours, and therefore you feel replenished. :amaze:

FREAKofNATURE 10-25-2004 05:56 PM

^ya thats not physically possible for a person to get that much sleep and fully function. they might feel like they got more sleep because they went through a complete REM cycle and a person who sleeps as long as you do might only go through half a REM cycle.

gaslight 10-25-2004 05:59 PM

I should note that is isn't really an "ability". I don't like, do it everyday. Most days I oversleep a whole lot.

15 minutes? That can't be right.

If I only slept for 15 minutes a day, I think I'd get REALLY bored of being awake.

PaulSimonon 10-25-2004 06:01 PM

Speaking of REM (turning to the band now), My friend went to their concert the other week.

I might get to go to the Bob Dylan concert!!!!! Wooooo!!!!111!1!one!1

FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 06:02 PM

At the rate your going Gas, getting very little sleep, your body is going haywire, you'll feel refreshed for a few days but a week or two down the road it'll catch up to you, you'll start getting head and muscle aches, and will pass out. Going without sleep is bad.

PaulSimonon 10-25-2004 06:03 PM

I slept before and after my performance today! I did good too!

Lucky Bastard, I want to go to the Dylan concert. Instead of going to the REM concert that week I went to the Pearl Jam concert.

gaslight 10-25-2004 06:04 PM

The thing is though, even though I stay up late at the moment, I sleep a lot usually. Like I will go to bed at 3 AM or whatever, but still get 9 or more hours sleep.

PaulSimonon 10-25-2004 06:05 PM

I'd rather go to Pearl Jam, but since Zimmereman is getting old, I have to go. He might come out with a new album!

PaulSimonon 10-25-2004 06:06 PM

By the way Funk, you hear Jack Irons's solo(ish) album? It's pretty cool. Very out there.

Omega Red 10-25-2004 06:07 PM

I wish i knew more good musicans id love to start a band

FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 06:07 PM

No I havent gotten the chance. So its good? I thought it would be but I havent heard much feedback. Les CLaypools on there right?

EDIT: To Paul.

Wintermute 10-25-2004 06:08 PM

Yeah, I need to find a good singer and a good drummer. A guitarist wouldn't go amiss either. A friend of mine here is a guitarist, and quite a good one, but I'm not sure we work together so well musically.

It's fantastic, but between the bassists on it(Ament, Claypool, Flea), the bass lines weren't as good as they ought to be, but still pretty good. IT's very odd. I'll send it to you.

FREAKofNATURE 10-25-2004 06:10 PM

^i know what its like trying to find a good drummer, all the ones here suck. i have a really good guitarist and singer but we cant find a good drummer that will work out with us.

Wintermute 10-25-2004 06:12 PM

The annoying thing is a good friend of mine is a percussive phenomenon (though he wouldn't agree). The trouble is now we're at Uni he's in Aberystwyth.

PaulSimonon 10-25-2004 06:12 PM

I really enjoy the cover of Floyd's Shine on You Crazy Diamond with Claypool on bass and Vedder on vocals.

FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 06:12 PM
I'll send it to you.
I'd really appreciate that Paul.

PaulSimonon 10-25-2004 06:13 PM

Hey Winter, you ever watch the show Hamish Macbeth? It's on the the BBC America, and is very interesting.

Wintermute 10-25-2004 06:14 PM

Never heard of it. Should I have?

(Aberystwyth is pronounced Ah-burr-wrist-with)

Jamie 10-25-2004 06:14 PM

^^^

Wintermute 10-25-2004 06:18 PM

It's a bedroom recording, so we only had one mike to do the drums with (Shure SM58)
It was over the front of the kit for most of the song. Except in the driving bridge, then it was dangled over Tom's toms. ( )

Also, we have no singer. We planned for a vocal variation towards the beginning, without which the intro can sound a little repetative.

FREAKofNATURE 10-25-2004 06:19 PM

the link didn't work winter.

Jamie 10-25-2004 06:19 PM

wintermute: your bass riff at the start is based on one of my old bands songs... (well the chorus of one song) and also "i hope you die" by bloodhound gang!

Wintermute 10-25-2004 06:20 PM

Try now. One of MX's latest tweaks has messed up links...
