Do you know what Melodic Hardcore is dude?
|
it is indeed a cool song, the chorus is catchy as hell. Still miles away from the stuff I normally listen to.
|
Hardcore with a little melody, maybe? When I think of hardcore, I think of hard music. yep yep.
It was an alright song. If you were to actually sing, it would be better. |
No, its basically a harder version of Pop-Punk. The melodic part is used to describe the poppier riffing (see riff at about 43 seconds), and a more accesible sound, without whining vocals and extremly simple riffs and chord progressions.
And  at the vocals remark. Punk music is about agression foo'. Classic rockers... |
Do you know what Melodic Hardcore is dude?
Plain Hardcore I imagine should be something more aggressive with start stop riffage and screamo vocals...Oh wait, isnt it metalcore  /retard when it comes to music not familiar with |
I see.
Sounds like you're trying to conform to a certain sound. My band has played for a year and we haven't yet given ourselves a label. |
Yes, thats Metalcore.
And RNR : I do sing properly in other songs (will post when they are recorded), but i thought that song required more agression due too : Speed. Lyrical Content. Riffage. It not being a 'ohh im upset song.' |
What was ICB banned for?
I don't know, what WAS he banned for?
I wouldn't be surprised if ICB was banned for spamming.
I suck at spamming.
Heh thanks. He only seems to come on here to spam nowadays.
Yeah, I took a 5 day break just so I could come on here and spam again. Waiiiitttt....
ICB doesn't appear to be banned.
But his user title says "Banned", Bartender! What's going on?!
He must have just changed his user-title to Banned.
Oh, good work, detective. So, I just woke up, it's about 1:17 in the PM. I'm loving the weather here, man. Rian rules. So did GWAR at SOTU. |
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=364902
Will someone PLEASE help me thread out? Please?
listen to a lot of reach the sky before you recorded that? Personally i prefer the Lifetime approach to melodic hardcore than Reach the Sky, but at least you got the hardcore label correct, unlike half the world these days
*sigh* It didnt work. Could this be caused by a virus or something? I think I'm having lots of little bugs in my system32 :upset:
sounds more like some sort of glitch that worked its way into your system than a virus. If it was a virus it would not affect secure documents in that way, except to steal the information you would be entering. |

When you can actually watch them. I was right in front and I was getting blood and bile in my eyes half the time. |

If it was a virus it would not affect secure documents in that way, except to steal the information you would be entering.
This makes sense actually. I really hate my PC, I want to buy a new one but I'm currently waiting for my phone bill (had a freaking dialer). So, when are going back home? (to record that anata song by the way :p) |
It depends on who you ask, and what youre looking for as an answer. I will break it down like this.
1) From a technical standpoint, reach the sky are terrible, their drums start to run off time in every song, and the guitars arent that tight 2) Their first couple EPs and first one or two cds (been a while so i dont remember), from a writing standpoint however are brilliant, and the fact that they are totally incompetant musicians can be easily ignored because the writing is so great. 3) after the first couple releases they went total pop punk, with no hints of being hardcore anymore, which i do not enjoy. Also, since there was the discussion on this page and the previous page about what hardcore is, I will treat you guys and upload an MP3 of my old hardcore band from like 1999.l |
Ok, so are you implying that we are terrible musicians :\
Wow, i just heard some reach the sky of the most recent album and its good stuff! Your right about the lack of anything complex, but its good. |
No i am not implying you are terrible musicians, but if you listen to some old reach the sky you will notice the style of writing and riffing is very very similar. That is what i meant.
And Stoic, I will be landing back in new jersey at 3:00PM on july the 25th. As long as i get my microphones back from my friend that day, the song should be completed by july the 27th, perhaps the 28th depending on how the jetlag works out for me. |
How old Reach The Sky? I can only find stuff back in 1999.

That is probably when they formed about. So Far From Home was the last cd of theirs I purchased, and i have all the 7"s prior to that, which I am sure will be a bit tougher to find. Reccomended songs from that album: So Far From Home The Chase is On World Stands Still Seems Like Forever As for you wondering what hardcore was, i present to you this: Slide Tackle - "Osama Bin Bombin" Written right after the 9/11 happenings, due to the singer being 1/2 middle eastern descent, and getting a lot of crap for it. |
Lol, that track is Agnostic Front + screams! Is that your band?
This is generally what i was listening to before i wrote that song, and most of my bands songs. Well, this and 88 Fingers Louie. http://s27.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=110YXFI1FJBVP30UQY9UW9MKII |

Yeah, same here, man, it was sweet. Gwar just may be the greatest live theatrical band ever. In my opinion, of course. I was surprised that they took a moment to be serious and did a power ballad in memory of Dimebag...that was cool. Did you stay in front for Lamb of God? If not, ahhahahaha, I rule you drool... Anyway, I've got nothing to do today, so I'm going to load my pictures up onto photobucket and do a nice little story of my day at Sounds of The Underground. That's gonna take a while.... NP: Trivium- The Decieved I can't stop listening to this song. Good stuff. |
It was a while ago but the band broke up early 2002, i gotta head out now, but if you want to go onto soulseek and browse my files, its in the folder called Slide Tackle.

I was in front for every band. I rule you. :thumb: We were the first people there, front and center for every single band, except Chimaira, I let my good friend go up front cause he likes them more than I do. And during Black Label I went into the pit, but I was upfront for almost all of Lamb of God. Unfortunatly that means I was in front for Norma Jean, Every Time I Die, and Fear Before the March of Flames (who I was booing). And it was gross cause the singer from All That Remains and Norma Jean came into the crowd right where I was and I got covered in sweat it was disgusting. Awesome show though. If I had to rank the top 5 it would be: Lamb of God Unearth Chimaira All That Remains GWAR |
All That Remains are great. The riffs = awesome.

Wow, what's up with the crappy name changes everyone?
|
Wow, whats with you coming into the thread and abusing us all the time if we joined in 2004?

Blythe -> Byzantine EddieVanHalen769 -> RiceMonster EvenStillRix (I think it's him, anyway) -> GaggingOrder jpjrulestheworld -> jpj Rock Not Roll -> RNR RippingCorpseAttack -> RCA (I'm not sure if this happened) Gilmour -> Kingofdudes That's all I can think of, anyway. EDIT: Okay, MXican -> Twin Revolvers -> Six Foot Revolver (courtesy of the Yogi) MalcolmYoungRock -> Mister Blue Sky (he rarely posts here, so that's why I forgot him) And how dare I forget BeatingHome24 -> YDload (courtesy of YDload) :upset: I'm so ashamed that I couldn't complete that list.
For Superpeer. |
Hmm, most of you went way downhill with names.
