We were doing a section on metal in my history of rock class and of course we start off with like Sabbath and Deep Purple and my prof is like you guys might not think this is heavy since metal has turned all (makes wierd face) sludgy grind death etc... and he didn't say it but he made it pretty obvious that he hates it and I didn't throw anything at him but we had to turn in a paper linking a genre of our choice to the beatles and I made some dumbass argument about how helter skelter was the first pv song so he'll love that

True. However, I wasn't saying it in a way that long songs were bothersome, just saying it in the sense that people hadn't listened to it enough. I mean, if you still think (and I don't mean you in particular) that all the songs on it blend in to one another and kinda sound the same, you really have a lot more listening to do.
