what

compared to other releases in the same style, it is one of the best

there's nothing wrong about saying that

neither would it be if i called it one of the better canadian hard rock albums so far this year

or any other way i want to classify it - as long as there are other comparable releases, of course one could draw a comparison and rank the albums among themselves

not understanding such simple concepts strikes me as weird. do you have to wear a seatbelt in front of the computer

Dimmu Burger 09-03-2008 03:19 PM

I wouldn't be as harsh as Pete, but I see what he means. There are plenty of deathcore bands around for someone to say "this is the best deathcore album I've heard in awhile" etc.

Pete 09-03-2008 03:23 PM

i am harsh for the lulz

Iluvatar 09-03-2008 04:21 PM

no what you aren't getting is that deathcore shouldnt even be considered a style of music retard.

i am sorry if you dont understand what i was referring to, the post was aimed at people who frequent these forums and to whom the term "deathcore" is familiar.

Iluvatar 09-03-2008 04:32 PM

hopefully it was erased from existence as a sign from god that the genre would soon follow

shows how much you know.

McP3000 09-03-2008 04:34 PM

"Oh please God, take this genre and smite it!"

"It has been smitten"

Iluvatar 09-03-2008 04:36 PM

If Beelzebub was a musical genre he would be deathcore.

silenteye 09-03-2008 07:11 PM

i like Poison The Well, Killswitch Engage, All That Remains, and alot of other bands.

BridgeToSolace 09-03-2008 07:42 PM

All That Remains sings too much. Killswitch Engage has a vocalist with an epic clean sing, but they can get into the crappy nu-metal range.

Listening to "You're Everything But Divine" by Camilla Rhodes, I'm fairly unimpressed until around the 2:15 mark where they put a melodic chord in. Not too melodic as to be pussyish, but enough to switch it up from the monotonous brutality. And then they quickly forget about it. Bleh.

This is above average, sure. But overall not great.

I wouldn't doubt it's the best deathcore album of the year, though :p

I'm really loving After The Burial, though. Everyone listen to them. They aren't nearly as generic as their name would make you think.

adb 09-03-2008 07:43 PM

The only thing generic about ATB is their vocalist

BridgeToSolace 09-03-2008 08:02 PM

Their vocalist is the dark spot on an otherwise brilliantly shining band.

what does this even mean?
you white people

BridgeToSolace 09-03-2008 08:22 PM

ATB has a very bland vocalist.

keyboardxmosh 09-03-2008 11:44 PM
i hate that people talk about deathcore in that kind of sense, as though it is deserving of its own block of "best genre albums of the year"
dude, you do realize how many ****ing bands play the style right? there's tons of good ones if you weren't a noob at hearing mettle
