Hey everyone, I get a day off.
FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 09:22 AM

In the process of, hey do you know of anyone else who has one, the neck on mine is acting up, I want to know if its common or if I have a problem.

Omega Red 10-25-2004 09:26 AM

what do you mean the neck is acting up.
the store i baught it from does free setups for life because i baught it from them, so id just take it there and have them do it.

FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 09:28 AM

I'll definetly have a pro look at it, it feels and kinda looks slightly curved, when I mean slightly i mean slightly, just enough to feel. The bass was in the back of the store for awhile so the neck has just been sitting for awhile, Im gonna make an appointment woth a guy at the repairshop that i know, I'll see what happends.

Omega Red 10-25-2004 09:30 AM

that would be a truss rod problem, i wouldnt touch that becuase ive never worked with 2 before

FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 09:31 AM

Same here, I can work one but I feel helpless cause there are 2. I'm off to the shop now to get it checked out, later.

Omega Red 10-25-2004 09:33 AM

that would suck if the wood was warped, or the cut was bad on that neck cause its a thru neck and there is nothing you could do. most stores have a return policy, ask those guys if you can have them look at it, or exchange it for another.

Mother****ing Conklin! The truss rod they put in my BDGT-7 had a small burr about 2 inches long which dug into the neck most likely giving it a bad crack. I'll have to wait a couple of days to really see how bad it is, the repair shop is taking the fretbord off to see hid deep into the wood the defective truss rod dug.

:upset: That sucks, I hope the shop isn't making you pay...

Espbassor 10-25-2004 12:28 PM

^they shouldn't, it's a manufacturer's defect, should be free to replace.

FUNKNBASS 10-25-2004 12:29 PM

The guitar shop I bought it is also the repair shop and Im very very good friends with the owners and employees, I've been going there 8 years. Thier very understanding, I have a few options. Before I make decisition I want to see how much damage this one has.

nisakss 10-25-2004 12:45 PM

Hey everyone, sorry to hear about the trus rod problem Funk, but I agree that the shop shouldn't make you pay for anything, given that it's a manufacter problem.

What exactly do you mean by thundering midgets.... :p

Spaceman Spiff 10-25-2004 01:23 PM

my stepdad told me that when he was in his teens he knew a midget and they called him midge.
and one time there was a party at someone's house and the cops showed up, so everyone was running out the back and hopping over a fence, but with all the people in front of him the midget didn't see the fence, so the person right in front of the midget jumped the fence and he ran head first into it because he didn't even know it was there.

moral of the story, midgets are funny.
