I'll post a Byrds song in a minute.

BludgeonySteve 01-23-2005 01:26 PM

Yeah, The Byrds were a perfect example of great country rock.

ATM 01-23-2005 01:28 PM
Radio country does indeed suck. It has to be mixed with rock.
Any suggestions? The closest I have come to country is probably Marshall Tucker Band.

BlackDeathMetalJazz or really ANYTHING else please- 01-23-2005 01:28 PM
I dunno. but one thing's for sure...

Some Steve Earle, Blues Rodeo and The Byrds will do well.

I know all of the more popular ones you listed. And I found out about the Flying Burrito Brothers after watching the Festival Express DVD. You catch that yet?

I've seen parts. I don't own it so I haven't gotthe chance to see it all.

Jam2Me 01-23-2005 02:32 PM

Roger McGuinn is pretty amazing.

I have a Byrds greatest hits compilation its pretty great, but that's about all I need.

Johnny B. Good 01-23-2005 02:40 PM

Crosby was the one from CSN&Y who was in the Byrds, right?

magicbus 01-23-2005 03:14 PM

My cousin started listening to The Band. :upset:

Here's the story on him: He takes everything I've ever done, and starts doing it. I started guitar, he picked it up a month later. I started listening to Classic Rock, he started copying me. He would've never heard of Zeppelin, Floyd, Cream, The Doors, Yes, or The Who without me. Luckily he's only picked the common CR bands. Basically he's a faggot.

Today he tells me that he bought a greatest hits cd of The Band from Best Buy. He's never heard a song by them. I made the mistake of mentioning The Last Waltz in front of him, and it was over. He would've never found out about them, ever, in his life, if I didn't tell him about that movie. And now he knows. Everyone I ask has never heard of The Band (except for you guys), and now my cousin knows them. My life is over. I am actually enraged right now, seeing red if you will. :upset:

On a side note, I rule his ass at guitar, and I will always have that on him.

I dunno why, but I get like that too.
One of my friends got some Led Zeppelin CD's at the weekend and I thought "I hate him now" -my conscience-"smack the CD's out his hand, ruin it for everyone, do it do it do it DO IT!!"
It's weird.
Plus, he still isn't as good as you..HE GOT A GREATEST HITS!!

Broken Arrow 01-23-2005 03:27 PM

/has read the last 20+ pages

/has missed 15+ conversatrions he could have participated in

/has listened to Stranges Days and half of Waiting for the Sun while reading the 20+ pages

/yesterday watched The Doors Live in Europe 1968

The DVD was short but sweet.

IAJP 01-23-2005 03:43 PM

Waiting For The Sun, is so underated, it's criminal.

/FA on Doors..

lunch998 01-23-2005 03:47 PM

It's funny how we seem to want to encourage people to listen to classic rock, then if they try to we get angry for some reason. (I'm not making fun of you guys, because the same thing happens to me when my friends try to do it.)

Sweet, they already cancelled school tomorrow.

Quad deuces.

For some reason reading that made me angry at your friend, but I know I shouldn't be angry. I've never even met the guy.

Badmoon 01-23-2005 03:49 PM

Opinions on MP3?

I would, but I'm tired.

What do you guys think are some of the best album intros(the first song)? I think we should make a list or something.
