Spirit_In_Black 10-22-2004 07:37 PM

if maiden played with a symphony, well a few tracks on DOD like paschendale and face in the sand already sound orchestral, and so does blood brothers.
id like to hear hallowed be thy name with a symphony though.

PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 10-22-2004 07:41 PM

Ya that would be pretty sweet.

errh...? weird? i think its one of maidens easiest songs..

ed hunter 10-23-2004 05:17 PM
ok heres one for us all....

If Iron Maiden performed with a symphony (like metallica, kiss, scorpions etc...) what songs would fit best with that mixture. my first vote goes to "blood brothers".
what about rememebr tomorow

ashman 10-24-2004 05:32 AM
errh...? weird? i think its one of maidens easiest songs..
It is easy, it's just getting the timing right...that's my problem with it, the way that H plays it changes slightly...especially when he plays live.

Angmar00 10-24-2004 06:20 AM

I would like to hear Alexander the Great with an Orchestra...

Thunder Fingers 10-24-2004 07:16 AM

Frail: Blood Brothers with orchestra would make me cry.. serriously, it would have given so much more feeling to the song... and the song already have more feeling than whats normal:P

ashman 10-24-2004 08:28 AM

I'm sure theres an orchestral version somewhere...I think it was on some single...

I've got every Iron Maiden CD apart from any of the best ofs. Is it worth getting the Ed Hunter game? How is it?

Which albums have you got?

Burning inside 10-24-2004 05:19 PM

Anyone else here going to get the Early Days DVD which is out on Maonday 1st, cause i know i am.

I have seen bits of their early shows and they have looked pretty cool. It will be interesting to hear what Di'Anno is like live.

Buy the way, has anyone got the original Women in Uniform single?

HondoII 10-25-2004 10:54 AM

The ed hunter game sucks :P

and I have the WiU single vinyl. I don't like that song :P

IAJP 10-25-2004 11:13 AM

I've only got a Maiden greatest hits,
but I love it.

It's out on the 8th btw (Well in the UK)
DVD is to be released on Monday 8th November on EMI appropriately almost exactly 25 years to the day since the band first signed to the British label.
PoliticallyIncorrectMetalhead 10-25-2004 06:50 PM

I hope they are touring soon.

Vindicator 10-25-2004 07:32 PM

Iron Maiden are the best metal band of all time, and hence the best band of all time. I have almost all their songs either on dl or cd..god i love them. The only metals bands to even come close are Judas Priest or 3 Inches of Blood. The only thing that makes me mad is that they never play anywhere near me. The closest show is in LA which is a 15 hour drive. Guess ill just have to keep watching my DVDs.

Riva 10-25-2004 07:43 PM

I seriously hope they come to Aus. I'm gonna get those tickets, and be at the concert with bells on.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-25-2004 11:23 PM

im so glad i live in the middle of the states lol, every band tours to St.Louis lol.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-25-2004 11:25 PM

heres a new topic (glad u all liked my Orchestra one!!)

What guitar player would fit in well with Iron Maiden (aside from H, Davey, n Janick)...it can be a metal player, virtuiso, rock player...anyone.

ALSO...what guitar player would sound good playing a solo in a particular Maiden song. example...i think Alexi Laiho from COB could put a wonderful lead in "the wickerman" (even though it is one of Adrian's finest leads!) id still like to hear what he could do with it.

YDload 10-26-2004 12:11 AM

Marty Friedman in "Hallowed Be Thy Name." Very few guitar gods could improve on that song, but I think Friedman would be the best man for the job.

Randy Rhoades(R.I.P.), or Satch.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-26-2004 12:58 AM

Id like to hear Joe as well with Iron Maiden, espically in a more guitar oriented track like "the lonliness of the long distance runner".

twinkles 10-26-2004 01:20 AM

holy **** 112 pages :|
srry bout spamming, i dont really have anything to say about maiden

HondoII 10-26-2004 10:17 AM

As for guitarist...let me go back 20 years in time, and have all that time to practice and then I would be the best guitarist for the job today :D

But oh how I would love to see Randy Rhoads up there :)

Yay, I got my Maiden Rarities 81' dvd in my trade today. Oh how Paul has let himself go over the years :p
