he just said it cause he's a moron

LapraS 05-04-2007 06:52 AM

What are you even doing in a Hip Hop topic, Spat Out Plath, with your ugly avatar.

kurrpt 05-04-2007 06:53 AM

spouting out cool one liners, like
lol no krups
LapraS 05-04-2007 06:55 AM

So why were you insulting me for my benovelence?

kurrpt 05-04-2007 06:55 AM

you could at least spell my name right

damn glam rockers

kurrpt 05-04-2007 06:58 AM

no, they aren't

but i wouldn't expect you to know that

LapraS 05-04-2007 06:59 AM

Lol, just got into Hip Hop?

Hip Hop is a cultural movement, existing of MC'ing, DJ'ing etc. Don't tell me, dude.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:01 AM

I suggest you refrain from listening to 50cent and other commerical lackey's.

kurrpt 05-04-2007 07:01 AM

well, considering the mutual lack of respect we have for each other, I'll let you enlighten yourself on this matter

but then again, you probably think black people all look the same too

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:02 AM

No, it's not. Stop trying to prove yourself, for you know I'm right. I've met the whole of Wu Tang in real life, and you are trying to tell me that Rap and Hip Hop are the same thing.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:06 AM

Actually it is 'lackeys' just like 'monkeys'.
And yes, what 50cent and the rest of G-unit is performing is indeed no Hip Hop, nor Rap for that metter.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:08 AM

It's evident, Rap and Hip Hop is like a squirrel and a chipmunk.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:10 AM

Here, pal; http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Hip+Hop

MC'ing is AKA rapping, just so you don't get confused.

kurrpt 05-04-2007 07:10 AM

ITT : ignorance is bliss

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:13 AM

How does that make things different? 50Cent doesn't know the difference either, apparently.

kurrpt 05-04-2007 07:15 AM

no, now he's trying to pretend its all a joke

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:16 AM

Yeah, now stop talking nonsense, Hip Hop and Rap are NOT similar.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:19 AM

Wait, you're trying to disparage me over the internet now?

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:20 AM

I was pretty clear..? You were having problems with my terminology.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:23 AM

This conversation is now over, I've made my point. I'll continue my desperate search for an Oink invite.

Rams 05-04-2007 07:30 AM

In terms of dumb you both get a 1 out of 0.

Rap=Hip-Hop

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:34 AM

In terms of IQ, you get a 1 out of 150.

pulseczar 05-04-2007 07:42 AM
They're not even similar anymore? :o

oh i love it when self-important people join up, it gives the board a refreshing idiocy.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:46 AM

Why's that?

pulseczar 05-04-2007 07:49 AM

it's funny? I'm not sure what you're asking here.

LapraS 05-04-2007 07:52 AM

What's funny about someone not being able to distinguish two music genres?

pulseczar 05-04-2007 07:53 AM

oh now it's really funny because i was talking about you.

plus plath has been on this board for like 30 years he doesn't refresh anyone anymore

LapraS 05-04-2007 08:01 AM

Err?

kurrpt 05-04-2007 08:01 AM

well, he was still wrong

LapraS 05-04-2007 08:06 AM

He's been here for 5 years, so what? He's still an idiot.

kurrpt 05-04-2007 08:06 AM

you learn quickly

pulseczar 05-04-2007 08:07 AM
He's been here for 5 years, so what? He's still an idiot.
... wow you're stupid. it's just awe inspiring now.

LapraS 05-04-2007 08:08 AM

Kurrpt, being sarcastic xD?

kurrpt 05-04-2007 08:11 AM

no.

LapraS 05-04-2007 08:12 AM

Okay, thanks :P.

Sepstrup 05-04-2007 09:12 AM

Spat, you lose. Urbandictionary is obviously a very credible and professional source of information, what with descriptions like:
emceeing, which used to be shoutouts and such later evolved into 'rapping' and no thats not what 50 cent does because 50 cent is a sellout loser that sings bout his imagineary 'hoes'.
kurrpt 05-04-2007 09:14 AM
When hip-hop first emerged, it was about having fun and proving yourself using clever sentences - rhythmically put together - said smoothly over 12-inch vinyl records spun on a disc jockey's turntables. Most critics believed that hip-hop was just going to be a fad in inner cities. Little did they know that it would become a worldwide multibillion-dollar enterprise.

What most people don't understand is that there is a big difference between rap and hip-hop. Rap is the combination of emceeing and DJing, but hip-hop possesses four main elements: graffiti, break dancing, emceeing and DJing. There are subelements, too, such as the way one walks, talks and lives. As KRS-1 says, ''Rap is something you do; hip-hop is something you live.''
maybe that will shut you nay-sayers up for a bit, but i doubt it

Sepstrup 05-04-2007 09:22 AM

You'd agree that graffiti and break dancing isn't making music?

Then you're left with hiphop as being a comination of emceeing and DJing.
And rap music being a combination of... lo and behold! emceeing and DJing. So yeah:
Hip hop music and rap music are the same thing.
kurrpt 05-04-2007 09:26 AM

Hip-Hop is more like the scene or something that is all inclusive, or the life-style that goes along with it.

Sepstrup 05-04-2007 09:32 AM

So hip-hop music and rap music are the same thing? If not, could you give me examples of some rap artists and some hip hop artists just to distinguish?
