I think you're wrong. :p

The first 5 seconds are so cool. :)
That was what they intended with...Panic Attack and These Walls? for 8vm? I was pretty sad that they didn't play ITNoG nor TGP when i saw them last week, but we got As I Am and a slightly sped-up version of Pull Me Under :O
did you see them in vegas? They did Pull Me Under for the encore and they sped up the second verse to double time for some reason. I guess their time was running out.

That was an amazing show, despite that they didn't play Glass Prison or This Dying Soul. I was right against the barrier beneath John Petrucci. It was awesome. :thumb:

Ad Absurdum 09-03-2005 05:07 AM
The Glass Prison owns live...such a great song.
It sure does, it doesn't even matter whether Petrucci nails the arpeggios or not; the song is so powerful on it's own. I'd love to hear all three of the AA songs played in order live, hopefully they will do that in London.

Prince of Darkness 09-03-2005 06:32 AM

I think, now that every Official thread is getting renamed, this one just too.

What about...
Images&Posts ?
The Thread of Eternity - Dream Theater
Metropolis pt.3 - Dream Theater Thread
Learning to Post.hmm.no.

Yeah, But you get the point. If other thread can change, why should the DT thread be an exception.

thunderzstruck 09-03-2005 08:33 AM

thread of eternity

Prince of Darkness 09-03-2005 09:32 AM

Yeah, Thread of Eternity(Dream Theater)

That should be the name.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-03-2005 11:11 AM

I vote for Thread of Eternity (Dream Theater) as well. Unless, of course, I can think of a name myself. I'll have to think about that for a day.

 its perfect.

how about 6 degrees of Dream Theater?

MAthiAS 09-03-2005 01:18 PM

I don't like the ones with the band name in the title. That's me.

YouGottaBeCrazy 09-03-2005 01:49 PM

Here are some of my suggestions. I don't know if any of these have been thought up before.

-The Ytse thread
-The first thread, eternal
-Caught in a thread
-Hanging on by a thread
-6 Degrees of MX

I'm bad at thinking up thread names. :upset:

I disagree with every one of them, except the second last one. Everyone must agree on the fact that 'Scarred'>every piece of music ever written.

Anyway, what about "Teh fred that pwned dem all".

Darkness 09-03-2005 05:23 PM

The Glass Prison > A change in seasons? Are you nuts?

Dream Theatre...?

I'm sorry, but I am very sick of people worshipping Dream Theater. They play in odd time signatures that simply have nothing to do with the sacred Geometry they supposedly espouse. All my recorded material is based on mathmatical structures that have proven themselves through eons.

Their supposed use of art as a communcation of the collective unconcious is simply elementary rambling. Freud would spit on them given the opportunity.

On a more basic level, their grasp of modality is, quite frankly, lacking. They rely on the standards set forth by musicians from hundreds of years ago. By that i mean, the concept of a 12 tone music system. It is insulting that they continue to push the tradition that music comprises only these notes, indian music for example, has many many more possibilites for melodic invention. To say that they are truly on the forefront of music, is, with all due respect, comment dit-on disheartening.

I am from Quebec, excuse my poor english.

Prince of Darkness 09-03-2005 06:12 PM

Making such a 'important' first post, must mean one of two things...

Either you could be the greatest MXer of all time with the 'talent' to turn the forum around for the better

or...

Your just full of ****.

How I know the noobs.....Guess what my choice is.

Darkness 09-03-2005 06:12 PM

... We just enjoy Dream Theaters music, the way it sounds. Who cares about all that other stuff... the music sounds good. End of story.

DirtyQuebec6969 09-03-2005 06:20 PM

Except it doesn't, obviously. How can you justify listening to Dream Theatre when everything they base their music on is a lie? Supposedly progressive, they can hardly be called anything but regressive. Obscurity does not indicate virtuosity, let alone quality.

Go listen to something like Death Cab for Cutie if all you enjoy is the immediate sonic qualities, and not their underlying foundations.

Are you sure you didn't mean to put this in the Tool thread? I don't recall Dream Theater ever mentioning the collective unconscious nor any sacred geometry that they supposedly espouse. If this is a joke, it's actually kinda' funny. If this isn't a joke, just leave this thread and hang out in the pit.

Lord Abortion 09-03-2005 07:14 PM

I have come to a conclusion

Misunderstood is my favourite track on 6DOIT

it's awesome...

and I really haven't posted here in a while
