hismajestythepope 01-31-2009 10:45 AM

I haven't listened to Gospel in mad, which song is the one where the singer's like

"Hey you, you got a cigarette man?
Now I know you've got one on ya
I've got one, but it's in the back seat
Buried underneath all the rubble"

or whatever

RetiredAt21 01-31-2009 12:34 PM

Jamming some Neil Perry right now.

RetiredAt21 02-01-2009 10:40 AM

Any of you listen to Cowboys Became Folk Heroes?

iarescientists 02-01-2009 01:21 PM

yeah i never got the big deal about gospel either

i can put them on anytime and enjoy it, but it's never gone beyond that

Moon Flavor 02-01-2009 01:39 PM

The first time I heard Gospel I was like "eh this is pretty decent". But something compelled me to listen more and more and now they're probably in my current top 5.

They just have a certain atmosphere to them that speaks to me (cliche, yeah...). I could totally understand how someone wouldn't think it's that great though.

But their drummer is a great drummer goddammit mappy!

edit: and who jizzes over gospel? I know of maybe 2 MXers that even like them...of course I don't leave R&M ever

SlightlyEpic 02-01-2009 01:41 PM

I like Gospel! The Moon is a Dead World is awesome, and yeah, their drummer is pretty great.

You're pretty much considered insane in Hardcore/Emo if you don't like them.

Iluvatar 02-01-2009 04:23 PM

there are a ton of people on this board who love gospel

they have some amazing songs

hismajestythepope 02-01-2009 04:25 PM

gospel does have some amazing songs, all im saying is that their drummer isnt a prodigy, as some people act

DBlitz 02-01-2009 04:27 PM

I don't listen to it as much as say As the Roots Undo but The Moon is a Dead World probably ranks the same as my favourite emo albums. and yeah they have that atmosphere and superb drummer, but I liked them on first listen and then more each listen after that.

album is probably heiled by all over at H/E though

RetiredAt21 02-01-2009 04:28 PM
