it was a great show, you guys are going to love it. the only negative was the opening band. they flipped the crowd off at least 8 times, swear to god
|
flipping the crowd off is a great rock n roll tradition. i'm sure the sentiment was returned :)

I'm leaving for the show in half an hour. And i'm feeling pretty good considering all of the excellent reviews.
|
That's so early.. I should leave early as well. I'm always usually late and miss the first band.
|
You will all love it. I did.
I was really impressed with Wire and Glass live too. |
I am so jealous. Enjoy the show guys.

i was very impressed with pino palodino's bass playing. entwisle's shoes are tough to fill in, but i believe pino did a good job, especially because he didnt try to play exactly like entwisle played.
|
I would say the same thing about Zak. He's a very good drummer that doesn't get much recognition because everyone immediately draws their attention to Pete and Roger (rightfully so, but still). Very talented rhythm section still with the Who though.
|
I found that Zak kept everything solid but not flashy or lead-like, like Keith's. Is this because he doesn't want to copy Moon?
|
I would say there might be some of that involved, also there's the other aspect of him not wanting to steal the spotlight from Pete and Roger. I just think it's an awkward spot to fill in for a dead amazing member of a rock powerhouse like the Who. Both Zak and Pino deliver without trying to overdo it, which is great.
And judging from what I've heard from Zak, he may not be all over the kit all the time like Moon, but he does have some tasteful fills and clearly some ability. |
Yeah, he definetly has the ability, and showed it. It just seem a little bit....whats the word...subdued? But yes. It's probably because what you said.
Also there was a track on Wire and Glass where Simon plays Mandolin. Anyone know the name of it? |
Zak reminds me more of Keith Moon than he does of his father. He's not an animal like Moon, but he is much more upfront than his father ever was.
|
Yeah because Ringo was a joke...
*waits for Seafroggys to come defend his boyfriend* |
****ing assholes...
|
Haha pwnt.
Edit: Damn Seafroggys do you have a radar or something that lets you know when Ringo is being attacked? |
Haha that only took 1 minute.

kekekeke just got back! Really good show. The set list (as best I can remember it) was:
I Can't Explain Anyway Anyhow Anywhere Black Widows Eyes Who Are You Behind Blue Eyes Sound Round Pick Up The Peace Unholy Trinity Endless Wire We Got A Hit Dream Come True Mirror Door Relay Baba O'Riley ah **** i can't remember right now... really good show though. The sound from where I was sitting (right by the sound mixers hehehe) was pretty decent, but the bass guitar could have been a little louder. I nearly creamed my pants when they came on for the encore, and did Pinball Wizard=>Amazing Journey=>Parts of Overtures=>Sparks etc. Then we got them to come back out after. I think I saw Julianne (blue3) on my way back down the stairs after doing a pee pee =] Where were you RNR? Sorry, no pics. And maybe I will remember the setlist tomorrow. I'm in awe right now. :D |
Hah, I totally saw you.. I think. I'm not really sure..
My friends took a ****load of pictures and I barely took any cause my camera phone sucks. One of them got a guitar pick and I didn't :( They played The Seeker, Pinball Wizard, See Me, Feel Me, Won't Get Fooled Again, Man In A Purple Dress, Tea and Theater as well. I can't really remember the rest. edit - omfg I forgot My Generation and You Better You Bet. They had an awesome long setlist. |
so what did you guys really think, though? i mean did they sound like The Who? did they meet your expectations? what do you think of rog and pete? how was pete's playing? roger sound good? how was the crowd, etc...
