RPG's kinda bore me, some MMORPG's arn't bad, but i can't play em..waaaay too addicting.

-Listy- 09-28-2004 02:07 PM

Is Chrono Trigger for the SNES too? could you get it with a SNES emulator..if you can get that lol, also what is so good about it? not trying to sound blunt, just like..the story..or characters or what, coz i am rly into RPGs..final fantasy mostly lol and you say Chrono Trigger is great, so i want to check it out and you seem like the guy to ask :) thanks

Paranoidd 09-28-2004 02:16 PM

Chrono Trigger is for the SNES, yeah.

It's widely considered one of the best RPG's ever.

FF2, FF3, Chrono Trigger, Earthbound...those are my favorite SNES RPG's

I beat the original FF on NES (not emulator) and that took a LONG time and a LOT of effort. Hardest RPG ever. I also enjoyed dragon warrior despite it's mediocre graphics and gameplay. Faxanadu was also kinda cool although very awkward to play. I still beat it though :D

eggs'n'spam 09-28-2004 02:32 PM

wow..i only have heard of FF2 and FF3..im such a loser.. :upset:

Paranoidd 09-28-2004 02:36 PM

There is another one called Bahamut Lagoon which you can only get an emulator version of, because it has to be translated from Japanese to English. It's very widely liked, and supposed to be one of the best, but I played it for all of half an hour and couldn't stand the battle format, so that was it.

There are like 3 or 4 FF games for SNES. There is one where you get to choose a class, I downloaded it as FF5, but I'm not sure what it really is.

eggs'n'spam 09-28-2004 02:39 PM

what other kinds of games do you all enjoy?

Earthbound is good, i remember watching kids play it like 7 years ago.

Paranoidd 09-28-2004 02:42 PM

I'll play almost anything, but I'm not a big console fan.

I used to be addicted to LucasArts adventure games (Sam N Man, Day of the Tentacle, etc) and I still maintain they are some of the funniest and most well designed games ever.

The hitman series is really good, as well.
I used to play alot of Starcraft, warcraft, doom 2, etc.

Doom 3 was OK but after beating it I have no desire to play again.

Jedi Knight (all 3 of them) were very enjoyable (lightsaber battles!)

Star wars galaxies (MMORPG) was OK...I'm not keen on monthly fees though.

eggs'n'spam 09-28-2004 02:45 PM

mothly fee's have turned me away from many MMORPG's..but if they made a GTA multi player with online capabilities, you would never see me again on MX..

To Paranoidd, is the battle format for Chrono Trigger the same as Final Fantasy?

and is anyone else looking forward to FF Online, coz it looks truely amazing, not sure about gameplay yet though
im bored of consoles as well, i usually play Warcraft : Frozen Throne, that owns, or war games like Call of duty, Joint Operations etc, for the pc, i need more RPG'S though

Paranoidd 09-28-2004 02:49 PM

There is a Matrix MMORPG, and a Lord of the Rings. Those should be interesting.

Listy: It's not quite the same, but very similar. One thing about it is, you don't really have to spend alot of time building levels. The game flows VERY well.

-Listy- 09-28-2004 02:51 PM

a Matrix and Lord of the Rings one, sounds good

Bahamut Lagoon got to be very fun later, but for some reason I stopped playing it and deleted it...

Whats funny about that game is the main character gets out pimped by someone else :naughty:

ME! ME! ME!

Cant wait to buy it, looks like a better version of Everquest. But its going to be a LOT different from other FF games of course, due to the PvP nature

Kingofdudes 09-28-2004 03:28 PM

I cant stand how they charge like 9 dollars a month

Its half that in the UK :thumb:

When we are al on, I think the mxers should all meet up in game and help out, save finding teams. Though im not sure if it will allows USA/UK connections, I think its seperate servers.....dammit, just ruined my own idea :upset:

Kingofdudes 09-28-2004 03:34 PM

Im not sure, but on FFXI Americans and Japanese people could play in the same games. I may buy FFXI after I get a bass and amp.

-Listy- 09-28-2004 03:36 PM

Hopefully it allows those connections, because that would be so cool, ill look around

I have that problem too. Im going to put 4 options in a hat, and pick 2.

FF11 + other games

New phone

Amp

New guitar

I would make a poll here, but the pit sucks

gmoneyguy 09-28-2004 03:41 PM

The pit does suck. A new Amp is on top of my list.

Kingofdudes 09-28-2004 03:41 PM

I would go with the guitar and amp. After I eventually get the money for a bass and descent amp, ill get a much better guitar than the piece of crap I got now, and a guitar amp.

I would go with that in a heartbeat, but since I only ever play as a hobby, and my set up works, its not a priority. When things start breaking though....

Whatever 09-28-2004 04:10 PM

how do you put a picture in a message?

Dancin' Man 09-28-2004 04:22 PM

FF7 > all other games

Adam Jones is GOD 09-28-2004 04:28 PM

True, but that may change with this one.....but until then, that statement rings true

Dancin' Man 09-28-2004 04:34 PM

Meh, I don't have a PS2 so I'll probably never play another FF game. I had * and that was just terrible. Possibly the worst FF ever.
