I think both of them were drunk off their asses when they went out in the rubber dinghy...(is it dingy or dinghy?). Then the fire department comes, right?

Lord Abortion 08-21-2005 02:51 PM

I apologise for my lack of PM purchases this month, I had devoted alot of previous months to this and splashed out on some brutal DM and some black metal too
normal service is resumed next month though

also...screw Sharon Osbourne...stupid bitch

and titch, I'll order the train tickets when my Mum gets back from holiday as I am going to be a little bereft of cash due to leeds this month ...so I will borrow her card :D

man I'm going to start some "**** SHARON" chants on Friday...

CaptainWaits 08-21-2005 04:39 PM
If I was to get one Blind Guardian album, which one should it be?
Somewhere Far Beyond I would say

Terrorzone 08-21-2005 05:42 PM

For Speed metal, get Follow the Blind. For Power metal, I'd say Nightfall in Middle Earth.

Riva 08-21-2005 05:46 PM

My favourite BG albums, in order, are:

Nightfall In Middle Earth
Somewhere Far Beyond
Follow The Blind
A Night At The Opera

Lord Tim 08-21-2005 11:54 PM
Do I detect just a hint of bias? ;)
:D

And just to get back on topic - BG's Somewhere Far Beyond is my vote for that! :)

Apocalyptic Raids 08-21-2005 11:57 PM

Speaking of Blind Guardian, I just borrowed A Night At The Opera from my local library!

NP: Megadeth - Tornado Of Souls.

RiceMonster 08-22-2005 12:20 AM
Somewhere Far Beyond I would say
That or Nightfall in Middle Earth IMO.
and titch, I'll order the train tickets when my Mum gets back from holiday as I am going to be a little bereft of cash due to leeds this month ...so I will borrow her card :D
Slapping Penguin 08-22-2005 06:16 AM

Ahhhhh Power Metal. It makes me want to pick a battle axe and Slay a Dragon.

ArcLite 08-22-2005 06:39 AM

I can't stop listening to the new Demons & Wizards album. Great stuff, and a necessity of a check out if you haven't heard it yet.

CaptainWaits 08-22-2005 12:15 PM
For Speed metal, get Follow the Blind. For Power metal, I'd say Nightfall in Middle Earth.
For a mix of both, get Somewhere Far Beyond
My favourite BG albums, in order, are:

Mine:

Somewhere Far Beyond
Follow the Blind
Nightfall in Middle Earth
Batallions of Fear
Speaking of Blind Guardian, I just borrowed A Night At The Opera from my local library!
I hate you  . That's the 3rd time of posted something regarding you and you're Library.

Shattered_Future 08-22-2005 12:42 PM

My library has freaking nothing...it sucks.

Although i did find 6DOIT by Dream Theater there...

I only have Somewhere Far Beyond and numerous other mp3s from Blind Guardian. SFB is ok...still has to grow on me, i think.

shadow_stalker 08-22-2005 01:33 PM

terrorizer is my new favourite music magazine, i can't believe i have never bought it (not a single greenday articale in sight)

http://www.terrorizer.co.uk/thisissue.html

Stoic 08-22-2005 01:44 PM

looks ok (perfect for you tastes). The greek metal hammer is quite decent in general but sometimes I just hate it (eg when they burry bands I like, yes I'm selfish).

shadow_stalker 08-22-2005 02:02 PM

I used to like metal hammer, but then when love metal by HIM came put they started kissing willy walo's arse way too much and it just got pathetic

Shattered_Future 08-22-2005 02:33 PM

I personally like Decibel...good magazine that covers quite a few good bands.

For example, the issue I have:

Main article on Meshuggah, other articles on Nile, Paradise Lost, and Green Carnation, shorter articles on other stuff (you gotta put up with a LITTLE...), and a cd reviews section.

I normally dont have access to foreign press but some guy was kind enough to send me a couple of Decibel Issues. I liked its columns and the great amount of information it included but honestly I didnt recognize the 2/3 of the bands (too much -core if you ask me).

Shattered_Future 08-22-2005 02:39 PM

Yea, Decibel has quite a few hardcore/metalcore/whatevercore features...however, it also has quite a few decent bands in it.

That looks awesome.

Anyway, what's the name of the new Demons & Wizards album?

Stoic 08-22-2005 02:48 PM

Touched by the Crimson King

Lord Abortion 08-22-2005 03:48 PM

erm... metal hammer's subterrania section is quite useful...I suggest peice by piece by slayer, or necrophobic to do...

also, SFB is my favourite blind guardian album, the emotion in hansi's voice during the black chamber is one of my favourite pieces of PM vocals ever, the others bieng matt barlow in the reaping stone and a question of heaven live

/IE Fanboy :P

Riva 08-22-2005 03:50 PM

So, since all these threads are being renamed, I suggest we ask this one to be called the "War Council Of Power Metal Arcanum". Thoughts?

That way we can revive our rather silly and no doubt nerdy titles.

We'll have to make up some new ones for the new regs, though. :p

love these lines :)

Thoughts? YES...It would definitely give the thread a more suitable, power metalish feel. And if I haven't said it enough already, go buy the new Demons & Wizards album if you haven't yet.

Lord Abortion 08-22-2005 03:58 PM

thirded before bedtime

/lord ollie abortion of the erm...what was it again?

Riva 08-22-2005 03:58 PM
Ok, so the official War Council of the Power Metal Arcanum is:

Prince Alexi "Grimflame" Steerpike [Steerpike]
Sir SoulForge ElvenKing, the Blind Guardian [Stoic]
Duke Oliver Abortion, Master Of Pain [Lord Abortion]
Boyd, Squire of Rumley [RumBoy]
Lord Andrew Brummington of the Black Sabbath [Lord Brum]
Duke Jason IronGrip, Keeper Of The Mayhem [HeavyRiva]
Countess Leah von Scytharsk, the Black Widow [Taste My Scythe]
Sir Jonas the Sevenfold Avenger, Lord Of Arucard [Arucard]
Sir Frail duBedazzled, Sage of Power Metal Arcanum [FrailandBedazzled1979]
Baron Shatternight, the Wishmaster [Shattered_Future]
Sir Christopher duBodom, Master-At-Arms[cjborton]
Alrighty then, I'm guessing we call Lord Tim by his name of Lord Tim. :p

Stoic 08-22-2005 04:01 PM
