|
Hell Awaits is teh awesome sh.t, so is teh New Order. Hell Awaits is probably one of my favorite Slayer albums.
Megadeth are back.. finally there is a full thrash band still around. Everyone else changed (even Slayer, if only a little).
uh... Megadeth? :amaze: You know, they dropped thrash like.. 12 years ago... but we'll see what they give us now. The new riffs sound pretty good. Alright Ontario men... an update for you and this possible Sacrifice Reunion. Things just got 1000000x sweeter. July 24th, Gates of Hell 2004 will be the SHOW! OF! THE! YEAR! ANVIL EXCITER RAZOR and possibly SACRIFICE! Some of our other locals will be playing as well. I hope Goat Horn gets to play. I think they should just call this show Ontario Metal Gods...especially if Sacrifice gets back together for it. Only ones missing would be Slaughter and Infernal Majesty(Who moved out to B.C... backstabbers! :p ) |
Is there a Rust In Peace yet?
|
Oh ****. People would be killing themselves in australia if we were to have a show such as that.

*moves to canada*

Man, that page is so classic. Especailly the black metal one...:
21. Make sure your album goes out of print about 3years after its release... so it becomes 'cult'. 36. To producers of black metal albums: remember...no low end! If it doesn't hurt to listen to, it can't be "true". 42. When asked by a non true BMer what BM is, say something like, "BM is the raw essence of pure black evil in man", in anycase, make sure that by the conversations end, the other person still has no idea what black metal is. 666. Own hundreds of black metal albums, demos and bootlegs. Listen to approximately 8 of them regularly. 87. If possible, design the title of your album so that it consists of three completely unrelated words. Dimmu Borgir are the master of this (i.e.Enthrone Darkness Triumphant, Spiritual Black Dimensions, Puritanical Euphoric Misanthropia, Godless Savage Garden) but you mayalso want to refer to Immortal's "Diabolical Fullmoon Mysticism". 94. Own every Darkthrone release. Listen to exactly none of them. 95. Own cult-as-@#%$ shirts of bands you not only own no releases of, but also haven't even heard. |

The makers of "Get Thrashed", the upcoming documentary profiling the thrash metal scene of the early Eighties and its impact on the music scene, have posted two more preview clips via the project's official web site. The first clip features METALLICA guitarist Kirk Hammett talking about the influence that METALLICA had has had on the thrash genre, while the second clip features many of the artists that were interviewed talking about what they think is the "ultimate thrash album." Check it out here (go to the "Media" section).
Filming for "Get Thrashed" was recently completed and the show is currently being edited. Post-production should be completed in late spring/early summer with an air date and location to follow soon after. "Get Thrashed", the brainchild of director Rick Ernst, a longtime freelance producer for MTV, will include interviews with METALLICA, SLAYER, ANTHRAX, EXODUS, GODSMACK, DISTURBED, SEVENDUST, TESTAMENT, OVERKILL, DEATH ANGEL, SHADOWS FALL, MESHUGGAH, IN FLAMES, STRAPPING YOUNG LAD, STONE SOUR, SUPERJOINT RITUAL, LAMB OF GOD, VIO-LENCE, KREATOR, NUCLEAR ASSAULT, VOIVOD, CHIMAIRA, BIOHAZARD, FOZZY singer/WWE superstar Chris Jericho, SEPULTURA, KITTIE, THE HAUNTED, D.R.I., SOILWORK, KILLSWITCH ENGAGE, HEATHEN, Brian Slagel, Jon & Marsha Zazula, authors Ian Christe ("Sound of the Beast") and Steven Blush ("American Hardcore"), NY metal radio DJ Eddie Trunk, "Radio Rampage"'s Ron Quintana, as well as unsigned thrash bands OSMIUM, CONCRETE COFFIN and VISCID. |
MTV has officially lifted the ban on the zombie-infested promo clip for the song "What Doesn't Die" off of ANTHRAX's latest record, "We've Come For You All", according to a posting on the band's web site.
Although the network initially banned the clip for violent content, the decision was eventually overturned for undisclosed reasons. When reached for comment, ANTHRAX guitarist Scott Ian said, "This video needs to be seen. People need to know that this zombie menace, left unchecked, will be the death of us all!" "The decision to air this terribly stereotypical and racist anti-zombie propaganda is deeply upsetting," said Arthur Breakstone, chairman of the fictitious organization PETZ (People for the Ethical Treatment of Zombies), according to ANTHRAX's web site. "In this day and age for the living impaired to be portrayed as shuffling shambling flesh eating monsters is an outrage. We plan on boycotting MTV and all it's affiliated products and I urge all of you to let your voices be heard! PETZ will prevail in this matter and all others that slander such beautiful creatures." |
^ Ahahaaer, I'm gonna have a look at that Anthrax vid. Is it on their site?
Corporal: AHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! RAZOR! AHHHHHHHHHHHHH! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Legacy behind, or if this was another band doing the song, would anybody actually like this?! I doubt it...
Well, if you read the thread, just about everyone who digs thrash does.. its a cool song. Not Megadeth's best, but it kicks the crap out of new stuff. |

He sad Metallica was the first thrash band. Wasn't Exodus around before them? He must be pretty dumb considering he was a founding member of Exodus.

He also wrote some of the worst lyrics on St. Anger. You can't take him, or anyone in Metallica seriously anymore. They've all burnt their brains out man. |

meh. Exodus were indeed around before them, but didn't release an album till 1985 (not their fault) Venom made welcome to hell in 1981, which was the first thrash album, but it doesnt sound like thrash to me. So kill em all was the first released thrash album for me. |
Overkill, Exodus, and Venom were all around before metallica... there were probably others that I can't remember right now... Manu... Snow no Mercy, 1983. Most songs are really fast speed metal admittedly, but Black Magic is thrash. So there ya go.
As for Corporals comment on the Megadeth song... well, I haven't heard it (yet) so :p hehehe but really, I wouldn't trust his opinion as he likes Gorguts. ;) |
Kill em All was released before Show no Mercy. Exodus were indeed around before metallica, but didnt get an album out until 1985 (And lost their lead player in '82 :p ) And Overkill weren't around before metallica! They formed in 1984.
|
No, Overkill were 1980.
SNM and KEA were both 84, so I dunno which ones first... |
