Thats some terrible grip.

Drum Phil 03-15-2007 09:30 AM

Probably.

Works fine for me. No injuries, no pains.

Snarz 03-15-2007 09:49 AM
Welcome to the DP section.
I have yet to watch your vid, I will though.

Did you see the part where he like cut out the shark jaw?
Yupp...I thought that was pretty sweet.

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 09:50 AM

Hey guys.

Bust my ankle today in gym :(

Its my right one aswel.

Drum Phil 03-15-2007 09:50 AM

Learn to use your left foot.

It'll be good for you.

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 09:51 AM

I really dont want to change my setup around though.

The swelling on my foot will have probably gone down by tommorow afternoon.

Snarz 03-15-2007 09:52 AM

Yupp it sure will. I would...Change your whole kit around to play a left handed kit maybe?

Drum Phil 03-15-2007 09:54 AM

Thats what i'd do

Snarz 03-15-2007 09:56 AM

I can play both right and left handed kits now. Becasue that happened to me.

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 09:58 AM

Its not to bad...

I landed it awkwardly of a somersault and its swollen hurts to walk on alot mind.

Dave*Grohl 03-15-2007 10:15 AM

Why do my drums sound so much different when Im wearing isolation headphones compared to when Im wearing "ear" earplugs?

With the iso's my drums sound really nice and awesome and boomy low and everything but without iso's they dont have the boomyness or the lowness? you guys know what I mean right!

And it's not just with my drums, it's with every kit Ive heard.

When recording and the drum is all miced up, will it capture the nice lows and boomyness what you hear with isolation headphones on or will it not?!

Dave*Grohl 03-15-2007 10:16 AM
Probably.

Sunshine 03-15-2007 10:19 AM

Oh, crap.
I think I just got my very much good buddy in massive trouble with his ex-girlfriend.
He was one of the ones who came to visit Sunday~Wednesday, one of the ones in some of my new myspace pictures..
But I'm not sure she knew he was coming here.
Because now her MSN is all "[her name] - [his name] is an asshole so now..." and the rest is not important.
But I think it's 'cause she saw the pictures.
But he never said anything about not putting them up.
Crap =(

Snarz 03-15-2007 10:21 AM

that sucks.

Drum Phil 03-15-2007 10:23 AM

Unlucky eva. Not much you can do so dont beat yourself up.

Sunshine 03-15-2007 10:24 AM

Awww, kittycat <3

Yeah..
And she's not pissy at me, which makes me wonder if he did something ELSE..
Ah well.
Things will work out.
I don't know that he knows she's pissy, he being on his road-trip and all..I'm not sure if she texted/called him or not.

Drum Phil 03-15-2007 10:29 AM

Thats mutant freak cat to you :p

Jezen 03-15-2007 11:17 AM

Obviously changing what you protect your ears with is not going to affect the sound of your drums to the mics..

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 11:21 AM

I love the sound of my drums with my iso's on.

ebe9 03-15-2007 11:24 AM

So I see for the most part people will overcome adversity and adapt.

As for the Title, and the people complaining about that, it is only for this installment.

Basic premise is that a new one gets opened every +-5000 posts and has a new name, but keeping the "Drum Stronghold" in the title.

E.g. DS Pertacular

Dave*Grohl 03-15-2007 11:24 AM

Me too.

Dont love the sound so much without them to:D

oliv_da_skinmasher 03-15-2007 11:24 AM

It only sounds different to you. I found with my iso's everything becomes that little bit clearer.

Pleaseme 03-15-2007 11:27 AM

First post in the new hold. Werd. I miss my drums so much it hurts. I can't even work properly because of the distraction.

Little Android Man 03-15-2007 11:29 AM

Break or sprain?

Dave*Grohl 03-15-2007 11:38 AM

Compressor=It can also bring out the very deep bottom end of a kick drum or floor tom to very un-natural levels.

Holy yes. My drums are gonna sound nice in the studio

raz0r 03-15-2007 11:39 AM
Sup led.....

I pulled a muscle in my neck/shoulder today in the gym :(
Nothing major though, but meant I had to cut the session off early.

Little Android Man 03-15-2007 11:39 AM

ebe, can you explain again why you made a new hold?
im still confused...
do large post threads creat problems with the server?

and did Damo give you the ok?

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 11:43 AM

Well, we were doing crossovers and i did a somersault over the long box and landed very awkwardly......its swollen around the ankle area and i get sharp pains up the right side of my ankle when i step or try to walk on it...

Im currently just lying here with a duvet and some pillows really annoyed because i felt like practicing really hard today but i cant.

Basically what happens is when the threads become so large they not only become difficult to manage in of themselves, but when it comes to moving it it has caused server issues in the past.

There used to be a thread called "Casual Compendium" in the Bass forum which had over 100 000 posts and it casued major issues when a move to the new server took place becasue any attempt to move it resulted in near continuous timeout issues.

The essential goal that I am trying to achieve is one that has been present in the Bass forum for a long time and works very well.

We create a "Casual" thread where people can discuss topics Bass and not Bass related, and in general socialise.

So what I want to do is have this be the place for that in the Drum forum, and when the thread reaches the +-5000 post mark, close it and open a new one, then people can have a bit of fun in trying to get the first post.

But once again, the old thread was closed due to its massive size, I have left it sticked and it will still be available for viewing, just not posting.

Plus I know I would not want somebody to refer me to it to try and find a post due to its massive size.

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 11:50 AM

Can you hook me up to be able to get a big avater like yours?

Little Android Man 03-15-2007 11:50 AM

so... did Damo give you the ok?

billdrum 03-15-2007 11:51 AM

You have to win a contest to get a bigger avatar....like the drum-off!

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 11:52 AM

:( I cant enter.

Can you hook me up though?

Banshee 03-15-2007 11:52 AM

You gotta earn a bigger avatar.
An probably not, damo is rarely around.
What's wrong with having a new stronghold?

ebe9 03-15-2007 11:55 AM
so... did Damo give you the ok?
I have not spoken to Damo, but have discussed it with the other mods and gotten the okay.

This forum has been left fairly modless and I offered to help out.

So I have been doing to general problem solving and sorting out things that can be and are issues. But what I need as far as problems go is for you to post them in the problem reporting thread and link me to it.

The mods cannot be available and watching the forum every second of the day, so a big part of moderating is getting the users to help out is pointing out issues so we can help fix them.

Little Android Man 03-15-2007 11:55 AM

its just going to get tedious when whe have a "Drum Stronghold (Version 8.95)"

and the name is very annoying.

the_pure_drummer 03-15-2007 11:56 AM

How can i earn one without entering the drum off?
