And no more comments for a while ok, my head is getting too big :p

so here's what I did with the bugs, er, pickups. Basically just milled out a hole in a piece of wood, then cut out around it with the bandsaw. After shaping etc, I glued the pups inside and drilled little holes for the mounting/adjustment screws.

John, I've yet to build an acoustic. But the first thing I would do is get a book about it...

I've used Hipshot, ABM, Schaller, Alembic, and my home made ones. Pretty much up to the customer. This bass has a Hipshot, gold with black saddles (the pic looks black for some reason). My Mjolnir logo is sold as a necklass ornament...

I don't know if it's immoral, but i wouldn't copy any shapes of any small or custom builder. Fender or Gibson might be ok. Not that I find those shapes interesting.

Sounds pretty normal to me, I'm sure if you're a bit more used to fretting it'll lessen a bit, and you could always try to notch it out

I started by refinishing the neck.
Took off the pickguard, used a piece of plexiglass for the control cover
put led's in the cavity.
popped in a jobber jazz bass pup.

Need to refin the body and I'm done.

We'd have to talk. I do do guitars, and I also do custom headstock shapes. But "black"? I don't do painted, only natural wood...

Lookin good so far, just make sure you get that body all sanded out evenly.



And since I'm basically here to take abuse tonight, here's a clip of me playing the spalt maple bass. In explanation, I never play fretted bass, and I don't slap or pop. But it sure sounds like I do on this recording. This is all finger style playing, just spanking them strings with good calloused fingers :)
