washburn t24

will someone who owns or has played a washburn t24 please write a review to help me with deciding on buying a new bass for under 500 bucks

Demonshark 11-07-2005 01:09 PM

I'm fishing for a nice sounding, good looking bass guitar. Also i'd prefer if it were an active guitar because the sound of an active is so much more crisp. I play almost anything from ska to punk and a bit of metal.

I'm looking at a selection of three basses all are yamaha...they are:
bb 605
trb-4-II
rbx-375

my first question is .. does yamaha produce a decent quality of bass guitars? I find that they are quite good but what do i know.. I've really only played one bass in my whole life .. and its a Washburn xb-100..

next question is which of the three is a better buy?
yes i do know that two outa those three are 5 strings.. that brings me to my next question..

is 5 strings really worth it..?

Yamaha basses generally are very good, the lower range are good value in their range, and the higher end basses are used by alot of professional bassists.

I think the RBX375 is the best 'value', with the TRB being the best bass (and most expensive).

5 strings are good if you intend to use the extra notes, and if you listen to bands that use them.

hey, i just bought a yamaha fretless TRB and i love the sound i get. also it's a 5 string and i find it really useful, even if u dont use the notes below an E much, it's still good to be playing higher up the fretboard and the 5th string allows you to still get low playing high up the fretboard. mine has active pickups, so i guess the 1 you're looking at would as well, and ska music rocks:)
hope i helped, tim

I can also tell you about the Cirrus, Dynabass, and a few others. I don't know who told you Peaveys were crap, but I can attest that they are great basses.
