Rush are an extremely good band considering they only had 3 members

thunderzstruck 04-13-2005 07:29 PM

thunderzstruck 06-16-2005 11:54 AM

I remember this thread :)

thunderzstruck 06-16-2005 04:13 PM

no love for rush no more :(

3rdplanet 06-16-2005 04:19 PM

Rush! w00t!

BludgeonySteve 06-16-2005 04:20 PM

I'm a huge rush fan. :). They're one of the most brilliant bands i've ever heard.

White_heat 06-16-2005 04:53 PM

Going back to the Subject of their heaviest song...

I think the intro to "YYz" is the heaviest thing they wrote, but I have not heard all their songs.

BludgeonySteve 06-17-2005 09:35 AM

No way, Closer Touch has one of the most badass interlude riffs I've ever heard.

CaptainWaits 06-17-2005 02:45 PM

Rush is one of my favorite Classic Rock type bands. I have 2112 and Moving Pictures, plus Fly By Night and Moving Pictures on Vinyl.

Great Band, but terrible pics

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-17-2005 07:14 PM
wait, so why does it matter what their heaviest song is?
Yes, I agree. Besides the heaviest song is "Stick It Out" of of "Counterparts." The song is in Dropped-D. :amaze:

Actually the song is called "Stick it Out," and maybe this the homophobic rock fan in me but it's one of the lyrical choices that make me less than fond of that song. Rather like the opening line to "Nobody's Hero" off the same album.

Mambuto_O'Mally 06-17-2005 08:04 PM

Whoops! I always get that name mixed up. Why do people always think of things like that?!?! I was playing Halo 2 with some friends and everything I said they laughed at because of some stoopid double meaning.
you speak da truth
He does. Neil Young, Rush, and Leonard Cohen make up the holy triumvirate of good Canadian music.

I should post here more often, I really like Rush.

slug 06-17-2005 08:25 PM

Rush is an awesome band. I'm listening to Moving Pictures right now. Such a great album.

flamesofbodom 06-17-2005 08:25 PM

Good song.

Grace Under Pressure is a good album as well. The Rush In Rio DVD is also very very very good.

flamesofbodom 06-17-2005 08:36 PM

I have the DVD. Amazing. Period.

slug 06-17-2005 08:45 PM

It's crazy how obsessive some of the fans are.

BludgeonySteve 06-18-2005 10:39 AM

They're just one of those bands where it's either love them or don't listen at all.

wickedlester13 06-18-2005 10:48 PM

I love Rush, man. 2112 changed my whole outlook on the general idea of the "concept" album. their first album, although good, was not as good as the others
and the fact that theyre a three piece is cool and their talent truly shows in live shows. Definetly one of the most talented bands of all time.

wickedlester13 06-18-2005 10:51 PM
Anyone else like Rush? I'm going through a Rush craze right now. Alex is awesome on guitar All 3 guys are awesome on their instruments

/Discuss Rush
theyre the best thing to come out of Canada

White_heat 06-18-2005 10:59 PM

simply becouse of Natural Sience and Spirit of the radio, Go For Permanent Waves.

I love Different Stages, Rush is so Awsome Live, it kinda.. Amplifys the feelings in their studio songs..

Rush is the most loveable band ever, its pure brilliance, its technical music, mixed with Emotions, Have an such a widespread style of music that realy cant be labeled, but still have this little elements in it so you can say "this is Rush" Played by people that simply Have it!

slowhand 07-12-2005 05:16 PM

The only thing I have of Rush is 2112 and I find that the title track is excellent. Very good. And Geddy Lee's voice isn't that annoying. I also fell in love with his signature bass and plan on buying it in the future.

thunderzstruck 07-12-2005 05:31 PM

A reccoment permant waves or moving pictures as your next purchase. 2112 is a great album though

TerryThorne 07-12-2005 06:27 PM

Rush songs mostly sound pretty "geeky" except for Working Man, was there an era for Rush where they generally made heavier songs? I'd like to look into that because their other songs seem too clean.

Quagmire 222 07-12-2005 06:43 PM

I just got Chronicles. Great CD.
