Yeah, they did break up. Sucks, because I was curious about their performance I was too see in a couple months. Is The Beautiful Sounds of... their first album? Because if so I beg to differ...
Yeah, I think it is, why?

BuddyBigsby 10-12-2004 11:19 AM
Yeah, I think it is, why?
It's just not that great. The songs are bland and not very memorable. I can pop it in every now and then if I just want a short grindy record, but it's not the greatest album.

tornpictures 10-12-2004 11:57 AM

I think it's so good. Nothing beats Aedificum.

To each their own, I suppose.

Great posts for great first impressions:p

Just bought Crimes, it's a bit far from their old stuff, but I like it.

Is Art Damage worth it though? I'm still a bit skeptical.

cbmartinez 10-13-2004 05:35 PM

Odd How People Shake is better, IMO.

-BCRich- 10-13-2004 05:45 PM

Alexisonfire. Theyre screamo, and new cd has some parts with i guess emo style... should check em out. (theyre canadian too woot woot)

cbmartinez 10-13-2004 05:51 PM

How about you read the thread first moron.

It's good. It took a while to grow on me, but its good stuff. It's pretty different from Odd How People Shake in that it's heavier, and has less singy/shouty parts. It has a lot of parts that kind of drone on without really going anywhere, but after a few listens it grows on you. Definitely a more artistic record. Not as good as OHPS, but its a decent album.
Is that the one about the Tranquil Reflections In The River of Blood And Water XXX?
Haha, I'm lost. Maybe you've only heard their old stuff, which is more hardcorey with breakdowns abound and such, but their last album (In Response) was post-hardcore bliss.

Happymeal 10-13-2004 07:43 PM

I really thought it's better than their first, listening to The State Of Texas vs. Fear Before, but basing a whole album on one song is a no-no. That cleared some stuff up, thanks.

That sond didn't impress me that much. "Hey Kid, I'm a Computer, So..." is better in my opinion. I think Odd How People Shake was artsier than the new album.

You couldn't use a better way to describe what you said and let me add some other real bands

Rufio ("Above me" and "Save the World" are good songs)
Thrice ("To Awake and Avenge the death", "Stare at the Sun", "All that's Left"
"Deadbolt", "Identity Crisis", "Paper Tigers")

Alexisonfire ( "Accidents", "Pulmonary Archery", "Get Fighted", "Side walks when she walks", "Waterwings", "44 Caliber love letter")
Story of the Year ("Anthem of Our dying Day", "Sidewalks")
Avenged Sevenfold (the best kick *** band ever) (You have : "Unholly Confessions", "Chapter Four", "Second Heartbeat")

I'm definitely forgetting some songs but I let you the pleasure to discover them by yourself, Give me news

tornpictures 10-17-2004 01:06 PM
None of those bands are emo or screamo.
It's pointless to say that every two posts.
None of those bands are emo or screamo.
thrice are emo and alexisonfire and avenged sevenfold are screamo, but avenged sevenfold are more heavy.

MassaHuang 10-17-2004 01:16 PM

Atreyu and Avenged Sevenfold are both good, more emocore or metalish than anything else but i think they will fit in with some of the other bands listed. check 'em out, i think they are touring now too.

BuddyBigsby 10-17-2004 01:44 PM

Alexisonfire is the best kickass band ever lol. See nick. ( Followed by Thrice )
Anyway... Alex is screamo

Story of The Year are "wannabe-emo" that's leaning dangerously towards pop...

Avenged Sevenfold is metalcore

Rufio, well, let's say punk rock but freaking NICE punk rock.

Thrice is kinda everywhere. I can't really say what they are... Can anyone? They're screamo, emocore, emo, pop-punk depending on the songs... From heavy titles like Paper Tigers and Under Par to pop-ish crap like The Artist in the Ambulance and Send me an Angel, they're all over the place.

fuzzyhair 10-17-2004 02:54 PM

to watch the stars fade and nor am i are good

guitar is hard 10-17-2004 04:40 PM

I enjoy listening to Alexisonfire but they are NOT screamo, by no means. I would classify them as indie/metal or something along those lines.

MassaHuang 10-17-2004 05:39 PM

keep it mellow people, just state preferences and bands, dont fret

I know what it feels like. Just lay off them. Let them listen to what they like. It's not like it's your problem they call Taking Back Sunday screamo.
Hell, screamo as a genre doesn't even exist.

Happymeal 10-18-2004 05:39 AM
Hell, screamo as a genre doesn't even exist.
You, sir, are a man of great contradictions.

tornpictures 10-18-2004 06:19 AM

Until now, I always put the word 'screamo' in quotation marks. I feel it's a weird description. Abstract.
