epoxy will make the fret board kinda hard and a little clack sounding. id go with cyanoacrylate...
|
what is that exactly and where would one go about aquiring it?
|
haven't gotten started yet... plus i have no money.. but!!!
i'm planning on modding a floyd rose bridge to put on my new LTD (maybe i'll get another bass to **** up X-D) umm... i think it's been done my Les Claypool... but i'm not exactly sure. or if anyone else has done it but i figure i'll keep you guys posted on my progress (if any :/ ) might be until after new years until i can get any progress (considering the no money problem and being a typical teenage boy procrastination is the word), but in the mean-time, it's just a thought |

ok nevermind then, thanks for telling me, haha
he does, its a bass whammy, not a guitar whammy on a bass. |
what a mess / the mattocaster
ive recently completed this project for a friend
what a bloody nightmare took ages cost a fortune spec's :- 24 fret neck, 2 piece ash body with poplar top, 1 unnamed humbucker, 1 kent armstrong humbucker, 1 quadrail mother bucker, single/series/parallel switching on each pickup, individual on/off switches, 1 volume control. bi-colour led's blue/yellow (never again). floyd rose bridge surprisingly, it played really well as soon as it was put together, with little adjustment needed to the neck relief or intonation. oh yeah, painted with halfords 'appliance white' paint and for my next project, go here http://www.sputnikmusic.com/forums/showthread.php?p=13536902&posted=1#post13536902 |
wow, that is a fucking beast for hand made
|
that came out prett ynice looking, pups look real busy ina good way thoo
|
That's beast nig.
|
haha, that guitar makes me laugh.
because of all the swiches, and the clearness. pretty cool tho, how you made it all and shaped it and what not. dunno if i posted this in here or not, but hey, i drilled some holes, and changed some stuff. namely the dimarzio tone zone in the bridge that writing isn't actualy still on there, thats just the only picture i have right now |
I'm considering building my own custom as my next guitar.
basically: -Carvin 7 string through-body neck http://www.carvin.com/products/single.php?ItemNumber=NT7&CID=GTR/K - Mahogany wings (maybe a strat shape) -quilt maple veneer on the body, and headstock -possibly ivory binding -string through bridge -dimarzio pups -locking tuners now the colour, a light transparent blue. Almost similar to like a PRS royal blue. secks y/n? |

Licensed Flord Rose tremolo 22 Frets Jumbo frets. Gotoh chrome tuners im currently refinishing this now since this had a lousy finish. Also had it reshaped. POst it as soon as im done.
I want to do this, only make the guitar lefty and model it after a Gibson Flying V (for the more 'classic' look) ... and then get a Marshall Mini Stack with that Bogner head. It'd be fun to have all my gear be miniaturized. |

i have more and better pics, i just dont' feel like putting em in photobucket right now i actually did more work on it right now (as in RIGHT now) i'm ebonizing it a week or so ago i put in abalone inalys instead of the white plastic dots |
All of these were hand built by me. No premade necks or bodies.

Hey guys, here's a guy who's guitar designs you might like. They look like nice guitars and probably pretty good in self defense situations too :)

Sorry, but i dont have a directlink to the pics. Anyway, thats some **** me and my dad built a couple of weeks ago. Mixed a crappy stratbody with a teleneck (not featured on pic) and made a new pickguard. the rearpickup is dimarzio :P |
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y98/Skit/SG%20Bass%20After/Body.jpg
http://i3.photobucket.com/albums/y98/Skit/SG%20Bass%20After/Full.jpg I've added a new bridge and put in a new neck pickup. You can see what the bass was originally like when I bought it here: http://s3.photobucket.com/albums/y98/Skit/SG%20Bass%20Before/ |
Skit: Is that a Peavey T-40 p-up?

Looks more like a Jaguar body. I don't even know if it's from a Fender though, because I can't find a fender with that style body and 3 p/ups. I like the pickguard y'all made for it though. Pretty sweet and old-school. |
eh Skit, what company made that SG bass? I like the shape of the body. Makes me wanna get an epi one and shape it like that one.

Here's a current project of mine. If you don't like spalt you can just skip this :P But I'm really starting to feel this will be a sweet looking bass. My customer choose pretty much all the wood for this...

Here's one showing me cutting the neck angle on the front of the neck blank on my "little" gearhead mill.

Thanks... That is from a billet I got off the bay, had to resaw it myself. I get a lot of tops off ebay, but mostly try to get pre-bookmatched. |
How are you able to router so well? I suck at it.
