i could get into Nine Inch Nails perhaps?

and ill recomend something if someone asks
The Downward Spiral songs (closer to the metal/industrial side of things);
Piggy
March of the Pigs
Ruiner
The Becoming
Big Man With a Gun
Hurt

The Fragile songs (more experimental in general)
Somewhat Damaged
The Day the Whole World Went Away
We're In This Together
The Fragile
Just Like You Imagined (instrumental)
La Mer (instrumental)
The Great Below

A good start, I think. And yeah, I know NIN have music beyond TDS and The Fragile, but they're the obvious ways to go.

I've got "Epic: The Poetry of War", "Shadows and Dust", and "Serenity in Fire", so here I'll give you the best songs off of those 3 albums

Epic:The Poetry of War
-Ill Diavolo In Me
-****ation Is Here
-Era of the Mercyless
-As the Glorious Weeps

Shadows and Dust:
-In Shadows and Dust
-Beyond Salvation
-Chronicles of the Dam*ed
-Where the Enemy Sleeps

Serenity In Fire:
-Ambassador of Pain
-For All Our Sins
-Blood On the Swans
-10 Seconds From the End
-Under the Bleeding Sun

P.S - For albums, "Serenity in Fire" is the best, followed up by "Epic:The Poetry of War" :thumb:
Thanks a ton.

Can anyone reccomend Opeth songs?
Thanks a ton.

You'd actually get more responses for that one in the Official Opeth Thread. I'll give a few to get you started

Demon of the Fall
The Leper Affinity
The Apostle in Triumph
A Fair Judgement
Godhead's Lament
Face of Melinda

Spoonman 01-12-2005 09:47 PM

Has any one here heard of Jackyl or Tesla. And if you do advise me some good albums. :)

coddingtown 01-12-2005 09:57 PM

I have heard of Telsa, but dont listen to them.

Anyone here a Morphine fan?
They are a Bass/Sax/Drums band and they kick ***. They sound kinda like Dark Jazz/Rock

Bartender 01-12-2005 09:59 PM

I like Morphine, from what I've heard. Honey White is an awesome song. I can never find anything cheap enough by them to justify buying it to myself, though.

I can recommend individual songs by Tesla and Jackyl, but not albums, sorry.
I want to get a new Primus CD. I have Sailing the Seas of Cheese. What should I get now?
get frizzle fry. it was their first studio album and contains some of my favorite songs. or you could get their first cd which was Suck on This. its live and is one of the better of their albums in my opinion.

coddingtown 01-12-2005 10:24 PM

Get all of Primus' albums. They are all very different and have their own unique sound. I own all except misc debris and Rhinoplasty, and I dont regret buying any of them

mordredozzy124 01-12-2005 10:27 PM

Could someone reccomend me some good Iron Maiden songs with Blaze Bayley (sp?) singing? I have a lot of their Bruce Dickison CDs, but I don't believe Ive heard a Blaze song. Thanks in advance...

PimpDaddyKabZ 01-12-2005 10:29 PM
Yes, could we please stop just listing recommendations? The point of a thread such as this is that people can ask for recommendations based on their taste, not that people can list all their favourite stuff.

In response to something on the first page; I think Kabz was the earlier one to do something like this.
You get a gold star :thumb:

Respect....

Mind Revolution 01-12-2005 10:41 PM
I need help on an album by Emperor

Emperor are symphonic black metal, and an album of theirs to start with could be either Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk or In The Nightside Eclipse.

CaptainWaits 01-12-2005 10:50 PM
i got those 2 already but thanks :thumb:
Yeh I figured you did

Try Dissection, I guess they're sorta on the lines of them

And thanx a lot Bartender, it's all I need :thumb:

karkus 01-12-2005 11:31 PM
They're very good. Dreaming Neon Black is their best one, but all of the albums are excellent. Hold off on buying Enemies of Reality though...the band is going to rerelease it with much better production.
Yes, this you are right man... all their albums are excellent. :thumb:

However....

I think you should start off by getting Dead Heart, in a Dead World first. That album is a great one to start out with. Then get Enemies of Reality (**** the production), THEN get Dreaming Neon Black, which is the very superb album that rivals most concept albums. Then get their earlier stuff. Trust me, you definitely can NOT go wrong with Nevermore.

Bartender 01-12-2005 11:38 PM

This is for making requests or answering new requests..not just recommending things out of the blue.

Madcap. 01-13-2005 03:22 PM

Can somebody give me a few recommended Yngwie Malmsteen song please, that would be grand.

Thanks

MAthiAS 01-13-2005 04:26 PM

So I've downloaded a ton of stuff from the following bands and would just like to know what CD's of theirs to get: Symphony X, Rhapsody, Helloween, Stratovarious, Sonata Arctica, and Haggard.

Symphony X - The Divine Wings Of Tragedy
Stratovarius - Visions

Bartender 01-13-2005 07:55 PM

For Sonata Arctica, I favour Ecliptica. I know there are plenty of people who would recommend Silence or Winterheart's Guild over it though.

Stratovarius..I was recommended Infinite, as their "best" album, but I didn't like it much. Since then I've found I just don't like Stratovarius as a whole much (which is odd, because I love Sonata Arctica, and they're rather similar).

Rhapsody; the standard seems to be Symphony of Enchanted Lands, but don't hold me to my word.
