Phish did a good cover of one of Ween's songs.

AndreTheHyena 11-09-2005 07:17 PM

Ween rule.

DaveToopes 11-09-2005 07:28 PM

Yeah, i like them. Do you like Phish?

Brain Toad 11-09-2005 07:32 PM

Ween did an awesome song with Wesley Willis

AndreTheHyena 11-09-2005 07:49 PM

I wouldn't be too sure about that, Nick. It may have been mislabeled.

And no, I hate Phish. I really don't understand how Ween get lumped with jam bands.

oh, I've always liked Phish, since my brother was always listening to them. But you're right, Ween doesn't sound like any Jam band I know of.

AndreTheHyena 11-09-2005 07:59 PM

That's cool. A lot of my friends like them, so I'm sure they have some redeeming qualities.

straycat101 11-09-2005 08:00 PM

to ANYONE that listens to psychobilly, or horror punk (Misfits) listen to my band http://www.geocities.com/braintermites/BrainTermites.html

AndreTheHyena 11-11-2005 04:21 PM

To Griff: Check out My Morning Jacket circa It Still Moves. It's like the Drive-By Truckers on acid.

I'm pretty sure it's them, if not, its someone who sounds like them. It's about sad and happy Wesley, I have it on soulseek. Wesley also mentions Ween in his parts.

AndreTheHyena 11-12-2005 02:51 PM

In that case, rock over London.

obese_breasts 11-12-2005 03:27 PM

Rock on Chicago.

Weaties Breakfast of Champions.

Iron Bug 11-14-2005 02:31 PM

Anything that sounds like the Briefs?

EXPLODING HEARTS. DO IT.
They're better than the Briefs.

GenuineImitation 11-14-2005 05:55 PM

This is my first post in the punk forum. I mainly listen to rock and metal, but when it comes to punk, I listen to the ramones, sex pistols and clash (among a few others).

What are some good bands that I should check out?

pedro durruti 11-14-2005 06:10 PM

Stiff Little Fingers, X-Ray Spex, UK Subs, The Stiches

KingOfSka 11-14-2005 07:56 PM

Reccomend me bands that sound like Minor Threat.
Reccomend me bands that sound like Minor Threat.
Kid Dynamite covered a Minor Threat song. I don't really listen to Minor Threat, but I do know Kid Dynamite is one of the best poppy hardcore bands I listen to:)

The Faith, Urban Waste.

Iron Bug 11-15-2005 03:19 PM

Flagjacket you are god for turning me onto The Exploding Hearts. Awesome stuff.

Now can anybody tell me something similar to Clit 45?

AndreTheHyena 11-15-2005 04:24 PM

GBH do everything the Clit do, except better.

SkaBandit: Check out Dag Nasty.

Excursions 11-15-2005 04:35 PM

Dag Nasty don't really sound like Minor Threat, good band though.

AndreTheHyena 11-15-2005 04:48 PM

I think they're pretty close while still retaining everything that makes them unique and great.

3_times_round 11-17-2005 10:35 AM

Looking for some more bands to listen to...

Favourites include- Strung Out, Lagwagon, Rise Against, Pulley, Less Than Jake, Diesel Boy, Lawrence Arms, No Use For a Name.

Something along those lines. Possibly some Ska-Punk aswell.

AIRIC 11-17-2005 11:34 AM

Go to the Official Forum Band List, and look under pop-punk.

AndreTheHyena 11-17-2005 11:42 AM

No, this thread is supposed to render that one obsolete.

3_times: Check out Good Riddance, Against Me!, and Bracket.

Nick (and anyone else who is interested): Check out William Elliott Whitmore, he's an amazing punk rocker-turned-folk/blues singer. I saw him opening for Murder By Death, and he stole the show with just a banjo. We drank whiskey with him afterwords. He's got one of those voices that sound like he's been alive since the Civil War, but he's a young guy.
