Flee the Century and Death to Grays, who have recently broken up, are both amazing bands from Spokane, WA, about 90 mins from where i live.
Nanomansion is a local band (Lewiston, ID) they're cool guys, and make some beautiful music. |
from my country (Canada):
Matthew Good / MGB Our Lady Peace Sloan from my PROVINCE (seeing as how we dont have states in Canada) Neil Young (Manitoba) yeah i know neil young was born in toronto, and i know he moved to the states where he did all his good work, but he still counts as manitoban. |
There aren't a lot of bands to go national from my state (Alaska), but among the few...

Agreed. If I was from Canada I would say SYL by a mile. Australia - AC/DC or Red Paintings |
I don't like much from Hawaii, Jack Johnson is okay but that's it.
Canada:
DFA 1979 Billy Talent Sum 41 Alexisonfire Boys Night out Silverstein Protest The Hero No Warning
Horiible. I agree this is disappointing. I bet you've only hear PTH from MTV/MuchMusic havent you? Protest The Hero Alexisonfire Forgotten Rebels Closet Monster Hostage Life Screw It! There are so many other great bands out there from Canada, but what you listed is pretty bad. Theyre all good, but not the best AT ALL. |
MissAntarctica. (http://www.missantarctica.net)
Think Radiohead, Wheat, The Flaming Lips, Pedro The Lion and Wilco in one. Great band. They are stationed here in Holland, but half of the band is British. You can definately hear that in their sound. Their debut is called "Lost Electricity" well worth checking out! |
Oh goodness! How did I forget the Arrogant Worms! Such musical goodness.
|
I'd definitely say The Smiths mmmm.... Manchester is the best.
Along with the Stone Roses and Joy Division.
Amen. Manchester is the King of music, and record shops. I'd probably say my favourite bands from this country are Charlottfield, Corinthians, and UpCDownC. |
Godspeed You! Black Emperor
Arcade Fire Mare Cryptopsy Woods of Ypres SYL Quo Vadis |
i forgot about Dispatch
|
