I got the album today and I must say that it's great. My favorite songs would have to be "Radio/Video" or "Revenga" but my opinion may change later. Old School Hollywood is very different from the usual System of a Down but it's good. Did any of you get the shirt with the album?

Dude3 05-13-2005 09:12 PM

Just curious,
what the heck is "Suite-pee" about?

jameschez 05-14-2005 12:38 PM

Thanks man, i appreciate it... well i would if it would bloody download!! lol never mind i guess il have to wait until next week and actually buy it!

Firecracker 05-14-2005 12:40 PM

It took ages for 'BYOB' to grow on me, i didn't like it that much before, but now i love it. But it's still not as good as 'Cigaro' imo.

azbassman 05-14-2005 12:49 PM

This is my order of song from favorite to leat favorite
Violent Pornograpy
revenga
BYOB
Sad Statue
Cigaro
This cocanie make me feel like im on this song
old school hollywood
radio/video
question!
lost in hollywood
and solider side is just an intro so you know

jameschez 05-14-2005 12:53 PM

I dont care if it isn't as good as the others. i have to buy it as a matter of principle! lol

azbassman 05-14-2005 12:54 PM
If BYOB and Cigaro are consistently rated by people as some of the best work on the album I don't think I'll like it.
They only say byob and cigaro are the best songs because SOAD released them early and thats all they heard for a while...theres a lot of songs on there i listen to twice as much as byob and cigaro...its a good cd

jameschez 05-14-2005 12:58 PM

I like byob...but i did have to listen to it on repeat before i started to get into it. jus wih i could have heard more songs of the album

PepsiMetal 05-14-2005 02:58 PM
If BYOB and Cigaro are consistently rated by people as some of the best work on the album I don't think I'll like it.
I think when you hear songs like radio/video, violent pornography, sad statue, and lost in hollywood, you wont even like byob or cigaro as much. And Im saying if you, as in that audience who rates those 2 songs the best. I liked cigaro and BYOB alot as well, but once I heard rest of the songs, I knew byob and cigaro were just OK songs.

BTW radio/video has a sweet intro riff. Man... :naughty:

PepsiMetal 05-14-2005 03:25 PM

I like this album, can't decide if it's their best album, but it's definetely one of their best. But some people will obviously find it to be pure crap, while others will think it's a marvelous album. The thing I prefer in this album over last soad albums is that songs are much more different. In previous soad albums, many songs had similar structure and such. This album has bunch of different stuff. I listened to album like 10 times already and I keep hearing something new everytime I listen to it.

metalmaniac87 05-14-2005 03:25 PM

I loved their new album! IMO there were no bad songs on it and there are some really good ones. My list would be

Favourite
1. Radio/Video
2. Lost In Holywood
3. Question!
4. Sad Statue
5. Soliderside
6. Violent Pornography
7. BYOB
8. This Cocaine Makes Me Feel Like Im On This Song
9. Old School Holywood
10. Revenga
11. Cigaro
Least Favourite

Probably my favourite album of 2005 so far.

PepsiMetal 05-14-2005 03:28 PM

That's pretty much how my list would be. Except I'd change sad statue with question!.

Mojo2004 05-14-2005 03:40 PM

sad statue is an immense song, love every minute of it

extreme_191 05-14-2005 04:53 PM

I enjoy around 1/3 of BYOB. I like the instruments but the song is quite annoying.

TheSubtleArts 05-14-2005 06:08 PM

radio/video is my favorite song so far. i like how it changes styles from a polka-like sound to a reagge(sp?) and how its speeds up and changes volume and everything. its great.

Cramboli 05-14-2005 07:05 PM

Cherry is a good song so isn't speak english or die, along with marmalade and marijuana in your brain, those are some of there good music...

Hui_LP 05-17-2005 03:26 PM

*Like majorly forces everyone to talk about SOAD here.*

Now.

Yea, intro is amazing imo. Sounds beautiful. It changes so much it's like 20 songs in one. Funny lyrics though.

Hey man, look at me rockin out, Im on a RADIO! lol

Also who in the living hell is danny and lisa?

Hui_LP 05-17-2005 03:40 PM

No idea, yet I know it's one of the best songs on the album.

PepsiMetal 05-17-2005 03:46 PM

Recently I've been listening to Question! quite alot. It's becoming addicting. like the cocaine that makes you feel like you're in this song. lol. What a song title.
