Oh, don't have that one yet. Looking forward to it.

Murd_666 01-16-2005 03:54 PM

sabian realeased a new cymbal series.. The Vault crashes

Plan B. 01-16-2005 03:59 PM

Yeah, kind of a weird name, but they look pretty nice.

bobby__johnny 01-16-2005 05:17 PM

doesnt look like your typical sabian Labeling either (Aside from HHX)

Rt6Drummer 01-17-2005 12:20 AM

i want the senses fail drummer's (Dan Trapp's) hi-hats, they sound mint, wat does he use, i look at some of the pics on the senses fail site, i saw 2 diff hi-hats A Customs and possibly new beats, but wat kind does he use?

DruMMeR_BoY14 01-17-2005 03:53 AM

I'm pretty sure he uses new beats on the new record. and +rep for liking a kick *** band :)

lewisniven 01-17-2005 06:04 PM

ok, help me here. I need 2 crash's, both to be quick a splashy, but with a good punch to them too (think danny carey, that kinda sound, not that kinda prce). i also need a ride thats loud and suitable for gigging (heavier music) but does not wash for long, more of a loud ping, any ideas?

rockindrummer 01-17-2005 08:17 PM

hey i was wondering what you guys thought of the K Custom 20" pre aged dry light ride?

Plan B. 01-17-2005 08:35 PM

I did not like that ride when I played it. I don't know why, but it seemed dull and blunt to me. Feel free to try it out for yourself though.

rockindrummer 01-17-2005 08:39 PM

alright thanks for the info, does anyone else have any other info about this ride for primarily (sp?) rock and jazzy grooves

ckyinside 01-17-2005 10:00 PM

sabain B8s...........

I got these last year when I got my first new set. We were strapped for cash and we got a Ludwig Accent custom. Not my first choice but i really like the set. We were left with enough money for Sabian B8's. As I develop more as a drummer and discover the sound I like i find that the B8's don't do it anymore. I'm really into metal music but at the same time I am into blues music also. Any suggestions on where to go from here?

Also, this may sound like a stupid question, what reccomendation would you have on cymbals that sound the best but are cheapest?

bobby__johnny 01-18-2005 04:04 PM

i'd say Sabians Pro/Sonix and Paiste's Alpha lines for the budget work.

as for the metal/blues thing, go look for medium weight cymbals. they wont rip heads off with blues, but at the same time, they'll survive metal.

an_original_name 01-18-2005 04:20 PM

^^^ he would probably be fine with medium thin cymbals. i give my medium thin HH crash a good beating and it holds up fine. as long as you use good technique medium thin's should hold up fine.

your-milkman 01-18-2005 06:56 PM

my band just started playing jazzier tunes and my zildian A ping ride just doesnt sound good in the mix. I need a dry ride that has a nice sounding bell when ridden, and i like heavier rides (my current ping ride is 22" from the 80's VERY VERY heavy) i cant really afford a k custom or a k ride, is their any other cymbals at decent prices that can fufill my needs...thanks a bunch!!

try out some paiste crashes, innovations for my preference, amazing sound when miked..and for ride, id say zildjian A or A Custom ping ride...i swear by them :):)

PS Those are cymbals Danny uses

Dude123 01-18-2005 08:35 PM

Looking to get a new main crash and a ride. I will mostly be playing metal, with some rock tossed in, and mabye the odd other style as well. I was thinking an AA Medium 18" crash, as it would be loud enough for metal, but should give me some versatility in usage, but other reccomendations are welcome. Im not too sure on the ride, something loud enough for metal, but versatile enough to be used in other situations.

Thanks

Plan B. 01-18-2005 08:36 PM

Try the AA Rock ride.

Good choice with the crash, should sound great.

Egnar401 01-19-2005 01:07 AM

has anyone played/heard about the sabian AAX stage series? massmusic.net offers the 14" hats, 16" crash, and 20" ride with an export ELX that i am looking at, should i consider the cymbals too?

Murd_666 01-19-2005 09:48 AM

Hell ya the aax stages are awsome

Murd_666 01-19-2005 09:49 AM

also as bobby said before 16" aax stage and a aa medium crash 18" arethe most versitile pair

Egnar401 01-19-2005 03:14 PM

sweet. thanks a ton.

Plan B. 01-19-2005 03:42 PM

The hi-hats are also a great versitile pair too.

bobby__johnny 01-19-2005 04:35 PM
also as bobby said before 16" aax stage and a aa medium crash 18" arethe most versitile pair
i wouldnt say THE most verdatile pair....but they certainly will sound good in just about everything.

Plan B. 01-19-2005 05:16 PM

I'm itching to try out those new Sabian models. That ride looks amazing, and a Vault crash could be a suitable replacement for my cracked crash right now.

Any more adivce on the crash or ride? Might be headin to the store tonight.

Thanks

EDIT: Went to the store tonight. Listend to some cymbals and ended up with an 17" medium crash, though i really liked the AXXplosion 17" as well. Also picked up the 20" AA rock ride, thank for the suggestion. They both sound awesome!

Murd_666 01-19-2005 08:24 PM
look into a 16" AAX Stage Crash, and 18" AA Medium Crash.....that is most definatly the most versatile combo in my eyes.
^but u already did so ha^

-TheGlassPrison- 01-19-2005 08:59 PM

How Are The Paiste 18" Dry Dimensions Rides?
Could I Compare Them To The Sabian Hand Hammered Dry Ride?

rhcpdude90 01-19-2005 11:26 PM
21" Rock is more versatile. Neither of those will have volume issues.
the eagles suck, you're gay

DruMMeR_BoY14 01-19-2005 11:36 PM
I'm itching to try out those new Sabian models. That ride looks amazing, and a Vault crash could be a suitable replacement for my cracked crash right now.
hah yeah I'm really looking forward to trying one out, the vault crashes sound like there gonna be hot

Hyper Kid 01-20-2005 04:51 AM

I've read descriptions & sound characteristics on Vintage K rides... I havent tried one myself.

Has anyone played any Old K ride before?
How does it sound like? How would YOU describe the sound?
how does it compare to today's K Constantinople rides (soundwise)?
