Good plan.

Solitude is one of the best tracks on Master for vocals. Ozzy's voice is amazing on it.

The0zzfanCometh 11-05-2004 04:27 PM

Black Sabbath rocked when Ozzy was still with them. I think the dumbest thing any band has ever done was when they kicked him out. In my opinion, Ozzy is the best singer/musician there ever was, and still is. :thumb:

shadow_stalker 11-05-2004 04:29 PM

ive never heared that before i should have got master of reality last time i was at the metro centre but instead i got re-load by metallica (what a waste of fucking money!!!)

i dont see why so many people think that ozzy's voice is shit, when there are far worse vocalists out there

if toni hadnt decided to get rid of him there wouldnt be great songs like crazy train and no more tears, there would be no ozzfest, there would be no ozzy poster on my wall, instead there would be a sabbath one with toni in the midle (even though guitarists shouldnt be, *vol 4 tour*) and most of all they would probably be dead

Brew 11-05-2004 04:36 PM

Tony > Ozzy

Its good that Ozzy got kicked out, the band would have self-destructed otherwise, and Tony deserves centre stage over Ozzy, he was the dude in Sabbath and always has been.

The0zzfanCometh 11-05-2004 04:43 PM
joe holmes is also the dude who you see playing guitar in the perry mason video
Where can you find any Ozzy or Black Sabbath videos? Thanks

Good point! I never thought of it that way.... I don't know how the world would have gotten along without Crazy Train! lol But I have to disagree with anyone who says Tony was the best Black Sabbath member. Sorry :D

dude i cant believe you just said that! there is no way tony owns ozzy, ozzy is god, sure tony is a great guitarist but so was randy rhoads (RIP) he never demanded to be in the centre, guitarists shouldnt take centre stage unless they are also the singer

Ozzy > tony :thumb:

yes get their in mate, tony isnt the best member of sabbath (well apart from when he was the only origional member)

The0zzfanCometh 11-05-2004 04:58 PM

YES! And of course who could ever forget the great Randy Rhoads?
YES! And of course who could ever forget the great Randy Rhoads?
Its not hard, seeing as he was never in Black Sabbath.

Brew 11-05-2004 05:07 PM

Please stop mentioning Randy Rhoads in this Black Sabbath thread, he has nothing to do with the Sabs.

Ozzy may be a god, but he didn't keep Sabbath going for 30 years, Tony did.
Ozzy got screwed up on drugs and got himself booted from the band, leaving Tony to keep things going.

For the past 20 years, Ozzy has been nothing to Black Sabbath, they did fine without him and I'd like to see a re-union tour of the MkII line up with Dio, and maybe re-unions of the later line-ups.

And Tony deserves centre stage, he IS Black Sabbath, he formed the band, kept it going through tough times, never giving up what he loves best.

shadow_stalker 11-05-2004 05:22 PM

ozzy has done fine for past 20 years without them too.

they did do a reunion with dio back in the eightees didnt they? they made one album and dio left again

it wasnt all tony that formed sabbath him and bill were in a band together before that, ozzy and geezer were in a band before sabbath, they just got together, and before it was sabbath (during the pulka tulk days) they had a rythm guitarist called jim phillips and a saxophonist called alan clarke, so they could also claim that the had a hand in making sabbath aswell.

then there is jim simpson who was their first manager, he introduced them to alot of the jazz influences in their music aswell as some of the blues (thats all i got on him)

rising_fury 11-05-2004 05:23 PM

tony did write every great sabbath riff, and let's face it, if it wasn't for the riffs, sabbath would've been nothing.

and yes, i have seen the black sabbath stories 1&2 (they're sitting right next to me) they're pretty cool, but it's been a long time since i've watched vol. 2... i'm gonna pop it in right now

Brew 11-05-2004 05:26 PM

They re-formed with Dio in between 1990 and 1992, to record Dehumanizer.

shadow_stalker 11-05-2004 05:31 PM

i knew they reformed with him somewhere along the lines

Brew 11-05-2004 05:34 PM

He left because he didn't feel that Sabbath should open for Ozzy on the two shows in The Costa Mesa back in 1992, which is why Rob Halford filled in.

shadow_stalker 11-05-2004 05:48 PM

yeah i heared something about that but didnt know if it was true or not

The0zzfanCometh 11-05-2004 09:15 PM
And Tony deserves centre stage, he IS Black Sabbath, he formed the band, kept it going through tough times, never giving up what he loves best.
I still don't think Tony should get all the credit. It took all of Black Sabbath to keep it going through tough times. And Ozzy did not give up what he loves best when he got booted out; he became even better (If that's possible. :) He is and always was awesome).

TerryThorne 11-05-2004 11:14 PM

Does anyone have the black box? Is it worth it to spend the money for it?

Bongo Extraordinaire 11-06-2004 02:50 AM

Lets put it this way, Sabbath was renound for being the founding (and possibly the best) heavy metal band, mainly coz of Iommi's classic low key riffs. This still, however, made Ozzy famous because he was literally at the front of it all. When ozzy went solo later on, the only thing keeping him alive in the spotlight was studio editing. His voice was edited to sound significantly better than before when he was sabbath frontman. This aint bullsh!t. Sure Iommi wasn't much without Ozzy as well, but he sure as hell was the dominating reason both of them got where they are today (in my own, unedited opinion).

BTW, my fav songs = Behind the Wall Of Sleep, War Pigs, Iron Man, Electric Funeral, Fairies Wear Boots, Lord Of This World.........Sabbath rule!!!

heinrichkuhn 11-06-2004 03:09 AM

All their songs are bloody great! Their best album is probably Sabbath Bloody Sabbath

Diatonic Dissonance™ 11-06-2004 03:16 AM

Black Sabbath are awesome.

My favourites include Paranoid, Iron Man, NIB and War Pigs.

shadow_stalker 11-06-2004 05:30 AM

bongoextrasrdonaire listen to ozzys live albums they sound brilliant and they havnt been touched by studio engineering, ozzy doesnt do that on every single song, he isnt britney spears

crossface 11-06-2004 05:39 AM

Sabbath question:

I heard there was a song by Black Sabbath called "Black Sabbath"... What Black Sabbath album is that song from? or is it not????
I dont know because, i dont know much about them from the beginning.

JACKROXYOU 11-06-2004 01:11 PM

The intro to NIB kicks ***.

Zefferon 11-06-2004 09:43 PM

Agreed. In fact, Black Sabbath has my favorite bass lines of all time. Also, they had two of the greatest metal vocalists of all time with them.

The major problem with Black Sabbath are the dumbasses who claim to be huge Sabbath fans, but only know 2 songs from Paranoid plus a few Ozzy solo songs they think are related to Black Sabbath. They ruined Sabbath for me for awhile.
