i simply can't wait for church and destroy
I thought they changed the name.

poprocks&coke 03-15-2005 03:29 PM

really?

to what?

chumpradio 03-15-2005 03:29 PM
I thought they changed the name.
Yes, the current most rumoured name is Crimson. From a riddle on their official forums that Derek, their drummer, made.

alk3rules 03-15-2005 07:07 PM

i like the name crimson better than church and destroy simply because i dont like those pun things that bands make up

coolidgeALL 03-15-2005 07:08 PM

there were good live in 02'

Let's Chop Cats! 03-15-2005 09:05 PM

Ok I'm getting a copy of this tomorrow. So far I've heard it's different, but not neccessarily bad. I shall give a quick over view once I hear it.

I found this link to it, Not how I got it but should work for now.
http://www.lowestofhighs.com/cds/Alkaline_Trio-Crimson-(Webrip_Advance)-2005-GCA/

So far (I'm on track 5) it is kind of boring and like a generic A3 song. A few songs sound a bit different. Nothing has stood out yet.

chumpradio 03-16-2005 02:48 PM

I've got tracks 1 and 2 off Kif. I like it so far, it's different, but track 2 is a great song, seems like it could be a single for Dan.

Let's Chop Cats! 03-16-2005 02:54 PM

Only a few more tracks left. I'm disapointed, could have been better. I'm sure you folks who like repetitive generic stuff will love this.

El_Shiznit 03-16-2005 02:56 PM

:upset:

simplephotographinthesun 03-16-2005 03:07 PM

this really does sound different from the normal alkaline trio im accustomed to, although sadie brings it all back

the website has reached its bandwith limit. if you have bittorrent, could you upload it and post it?

It's a lot grimmer than I expected, although a few tracks sound typical Alkaline Trio. I don't know why, but certain ones off FHTI sounded almost happy. These just sound down and sad

chumpradio 03-16-2005 03:37 PM

This is okay, Bleed isn't that good though. I can't wait to hear the new version of Sadie, that song is great.

poprocks&coke 03-16-2005 03:38 PM

is there another site that i could get it from? the other site has reached it's bandwidth

alk3rules 03-16-2005 08:47 PM

www.filemp3.org

you need bittorrent

lcolormegrayl 03-16-2005 10:26 PM

^what the heck is that?

Jonny 03-17-2005 07:20 AM

I've heard a few songs off their new album (Link is in my RBF thread- songs are disguised though) it seems pretty dark. And not as catchy. But still not bad.

billiejoe84 03-17-2005 07:27 AM

/looks

One thing I find funny, listening to Alk3's records, you'd think they would be great live. But when I saw the at Leeds 2003, dunno. Maybe they just had an off day. Matt kept messing up and singing the wrong lines, Dan looked like he couldn't be bothered, and Derek was the only one who really seemed to be making an effort. I'd like to see them again just to see if that show was a one-off.

Deftones_111 03-17-2005 07:33 AM

I haven't really listened to the band too much, but I find the song **** You Aurora quite funny, seeing how my girlfriend's name is Aurora. It's fitting I suppose... oh well. I'm done.

Oz Rembrandt 03-17-2005 10:24 AM

/starts getting new songs
I haven't really listened to the band too much, but I find the song **** You Aurora quite funny, seeing how my girlfriend's name is Aurora. It's fitting I suppose... oh well. I'm done.
Songs about a car. Not a girl.

**** you Aurora,
You took my only friend
And although it's all my fault,
the blaming myself had to come to an end
so I say:
**** you Aurora,
You took my only friend
You wont catch me behind the wheel
of a Chrysler ever again

It's about a guy driving a Chrysler Aurora and getting into a accident and killing his friend. Not sure if it's true, but that's what the song is about.
