Actuallt I should clear it all up. Angus and Malcolm's sister found the letters AC/DC on the back of a vacuum cleaner. She thought it was a good name for her brothers' band she put it to them and that was it. And NO she did NOT find it on the back of a sewing machine as so many people think.

shortass 12-20-2004 06:33 PM

I never knew that
Thanks :thumb:
I love ac/dc. They may not be amazing, but they are real people, who love the music, and rock n roll. Some say there repetitive, thats your opinion, thats what music is. repitition. there are millions of bands, using the same fret boards, the same drum beats, the same key's... its all the same concept. it dosent matter how good you are it matters how creative you are, and how you feel about the music. Anyways, ac/dc is what has gotten me into all the other great bands i listen to, so i have the greatest respect for them. As for a stage presence, they are amazing. As for loving the music, thats what they do. if you dont like it, dont listen to it. dont worry about it. AC/DC is for the fans to love, if your not a fan just dont talk. My music is AC/DC.
No argument here. :thumb:

JACKROXYOU 12-21-2004 12:09 PM

yea but why

rippa32 12-22-2004 05:53 AM

What is everyones favourite song on the Dirty Deeds Album. It has to be the Australian one so I dont want people saying songs like Love at first feel or Rocker.

JACKROXYOU 12-22-2004 05:44 PM

how about dirty deeds done dirt cheap thats a good song

Ulysses 12-23-2004 03:02 AM

Dirty Deeds, Rocker and Ride On :thumb:

thelizardkingcc 12-23-2004 04:36 AM

I think AC/DC under Bon Scott was a much better band than afterwards. Ride On, Night Prowler, Dirty Deeds, The Jack, Live Wire, all sweet like candy.

rippa32 12-23-2004 04:37 AM

I noticed that you said rocker. You americans are really missing out on some great songs on that album (Rock in Peace and Jailbreak)

Yeah, I enjoy the music written before 1980 more than afterwards generally speaking. Bon Scott's vocals and charismatic stage persona adds a feeling of electricity and energy to the band which is emphasised on what I believe is one of if not the best rock n roll live album ever recorded, If You Want Blood...You've Got It, there is not another record that psyches me the way it does.

tamas 12-23-2004 10:35 AM

Led-Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Ten Years After, Motörhead, Mötley Crüe, Guns n' Roses and AC/DC: They're the best

led blimp 12-24-2004 05:30 PM

its British slang.
AC/DC
Alternative current/Direct Current
homo/hetero
They had to spend a lot of time proving they were straight

freaks_refuge 12-24-2004 05:54 PM

I think they are a generally a good band, not strictly to my taste, quite repetitive and definitely over-rated, but generally speaking, most bands that big are quite over-rated anyway.

Mark. A 12-24-2004 07:40 PM

They're really mainstream these days in the way that all the cool kids wear their shirts, they have soime cool tunes but I'm not a huge fan.

I don't think anyone could really perceive them as being homosexuals, everything about them conflicts with homosexuality in general. They are so politically incorrect lyrically and just the whole image. So really, there is no argument

The real AC/DC is not mainstream at all!! Cool kids only wear Back in Black shirts and they only know "you shook me all night long".

Ulysses 12-24-2004 09:24 PM

Stiff Upper Lip isn't mainstream, pop, pop-punk, rap, rnb and hip hop are mainstream because they are "the in thing". In the rock & roll/metal scene AC/DC would be classed as mainstream music but back in the early days of 1973-1980 they were not, but as music has become heavier and heavy/thrash/black/death came along they were not perceived as even half as bad as everyone thought back in the 70's and with songs like "You Shook Me All Night Long" coming out they entered the mainstream of the rock world through "Black In Back". But a lot of people who like that song and others like it haven't heard the old stuff, which is good gear :thumb: . Back in Black and the Razors Edge can be sort of classed as mainstream, Powerage and Let There Be Rock cannot because when put in context (time/place etc.) they are not mainstream albums.

Not true, buddy. I
a) Have a "Back In Black" shirt
b) Own the album
c) Am one of the coolest kids in school.

One of these statements is a lie.
