i liked metallica's older stuff better than there new (who doesn't?), but my favorite song out of all would be master of puppets.
i like how it goes from there normal stuff in that song, to nice and soft and slow, then to unique solo's i also like enter sandman, its a preety well balanced song. lets try to keep this thread alive
123 exactly+ |
I dont think it was meant to be serious. it was funny.
Yeah i realised it wasn't serious but he still can't sing, I mean I heard a version of Whiplash or something with him singing a verse and it was terrible. |
A solo album by james would be awsome. Where is that santana/kirk song posted?
I couldn't get it to work... I have a Kill E'm All tab book from 1986, it has blitzkrieg and am I evil on it. But the lead guitarist has tempararly stole it from me...I also have AJFA I get tab books at a sed book store called Half Price book |
Just look on the Metallica site, I think it's on the player somewhere.

In my opinion Metallica is overated, megadeth is much better.
|
Why would you say that?
|
Everyone knows about metallica, while Megadeth sort-of gets shoved off to the side.
I'm sorry if i came off as a jerk, it's just something i'm rather passionate about. |
In my opinion Metallica is overated, megadeth is much better.
we all know Megadeth is Better than Metallica. But why all Megadeth fans compare them with Metallica? i meant, i know the reason why megadeth is better than metallica, but do you?, this is kind of a mindless bashing. |
Well I dont mean to, I know Megadeth is better, their like celstial beings while metallica are mere mortals. But anyways Metallica gets alot more attention as a metal band.
|
In my opinion Metallica is overated, megadeth is much better.
This is a metallica thread, this is not the place to come in here and blatantly bash them. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=216417 Go here if you want to talk about your undying love for megadeth. |
Hello everyone, welcome to the METALLICA thread.
It's nice you all like Megadeth, who doesn't, but there's another thread for that :thumb: Edit: you beat me... |
Well I dont mean to, I know Megadeth is better, their like celstial beings while metallica are mere mortals. But anyways Metallica gets alot more attention as a metal band.
do you realize that Megadeth is better than metallica for one reason(Rust in Peace), in exception of that all the Metallica early albums are better than the megadeth early albums, post black and post CTE are almost the same stuff. You exagerate a lot with that celestial thing, why do you think dave got pisted when he was kicked out o f metallica? Cause metallica was a good and talented band, both bands like the money . |
Well I dont mean to, I know Megadeth is better, their like celstial beings while metallica are mere mortals. But anyways Metallica gets alot more attention as a metal band.
Hardly. It's fairly obvious Metallica will make millions of dollars on their next cd regardless, where it's not so obvious for Megadeth.
do you realize that Megadeth is better than metallica for one reason(Rust in Peace), in exception of that all the Metallica early albums are better than the megadeth early albums, post black and post CTE are almost the same stuff.
Yea, because it's better than Load? |
Yea, because it's better than Load?
this comment confused me. But it's true, RIP is better than all the metallica albums, shame that megadeth couldn't produced four wicked albums like metallica did with their first four. |

I'm sorry if i came off as a jerk, it's just something i'm rather passionate about.
Okay I wasn't mad at you I just wanted to know why? the only reason why Metallica is bigger then megadeth is cause they put out all those "marketable metal albums" up until 1991 I would think tallica and md were right along with eachother then came the downfall of Metallica (the black album) that's really the only reason Metallica has5 times as many sales as MD |
this comment confused me.
But it's true, RIP is better than all the metallica albums, shame that megadeth couldn't produced four wicked albums like metallica did with their first four.
I do like RIP, but it's far from the best Metallica album, easily.
the only reason why Metallica is bigger then megadeth is cause they put out all those "marketable metal albums" up until 1991 I would think tallica and md were right along with eachother then came the downfall of Metallica (the black album) that's really the only reason Metallica has5 times as many sales as MD
Well Megadeth has consistantly put out good albums and Metallica went quite downhill when Load and St. Anger came out, even though I like St. Anger and various load songs |
My opinion is this. In the last 2 years I have seen both Metallica and Megadeth live. Metallica sold out Rexall Place here in Edmonton AB, Canada in like 10 minutes (about 18,000). Megadeth played a gig at a sports bar in West Edmonton Mall and packed the place (maybe 400 and about 50 of them were cougars....ick...). Metallica's opening act was Godsmack, while Megadeth had Exodus. Quality wise Metallica had a FAR superior show. Exodus kicked *** in the opener but sadly Megadeth was sooooo horrible that a lot of people left before they even finished their set. I only stayed because I was waiting for my buddy, but even then I didn't stay within earshot. I'm sorry to you Megadeth fans but I just don't see how anyone can compare the two. They both have their respective places in metal history and yes they have crossed paths, and yes I do like Megadeth for what they are (on album anyways), but I wouldn't even put them in the same league. Sorry but Metallica is better today, they were better yesterday, and as far as I am concerned, they always will be better. Megadeth should have focused on being good musicians and making good albums, not on trying to be number 1.

I like more Metallica than any other band around, but i still think RIP s better than all the metallica albums, if you tell me what do you think is the best metallica album, i could make a comparisson quote. |
Yea they definatly got caught always looking at Tallica when they should have just went their own way
|
Megadeth should have focused on being good musicians and making good albums, not on trying to be number 1.
Exactly, Megadeth have great musicians and they only put two great albums, the rest was recorded on the idea of being better than metallica, just check the comments of Dave about the song Set A World in fire. |

Well overall, I think there are a few amazing ones. Vocally I think the Black Album is the best one. My favorite is Ride the Lightning. It's got some of Kirk's best guitar work and also some very good lyrics. It's got the coolest non-solo song and it's got some of the heaviest metal riffs of all time I'm not saying RIP is a bad album at all, I just don't find is as impressive as RTL or MOP |

Another thing, to be quite honest, James' vocals are a lot better and I like Kirk's guitar work better than Dave's. I don't know about drumming, and in the CB days I think he's a better bassist
|
I actually like ALL the Metallica albums. From Kill' em All right to St. Anger. I think they all had something different to offer while still being Metallica at the soul. I think those who say St. Anger was horrible are likely the same people who thought Load and Reload were bad. They were great albums. Just Metallica in a different form :)

Well this kind of an opinnion thing. RIP was more killer riffs than MOP, RTL and AJFA, has better solos, better song structure, better drumming, is faster and less repetitive. MOP, RTL and AJFA have better vocals and lyrics, also better basslines and better album structure, but it's also **** repetitive, all three are better than PSBWB, KIMBAMBIG,SFSGSW and CTE. |
Better solos is pushing it, Fade to Black is the best solo I've ever heard (we're talking about all sorts of categories, not just speed)
