Nah they're commonly/correctly labeled as metalcore, although some of their songs are grindier. Concubine does RAPE though, Homewrecker, Concubine and the title track are my favorites.

Whole album is elite though.

I think Concubine, Distance And Meaning, Heaven In Her Arms, Thaw, and Jane Doe are the best

and they have not that much grind at all. In fact, their later releases have had a lot more Hardcore punk influence than their earlier releases.

The Broken Vow is pretty epic too.

Converge is actually a really pure mix of metal and hardcore I'd say, at least at their most recognizable. Otherwise they're just a hardcore band using old Slayer riffs: their words, not mine.

they definitely have some grind moments but not that much. I'd say metalcore is the most accurate tag for them, they just got thrashier after halo in a haystack.
