STEVEN

STEVEN ARE YOU THERE

I'm slowly working on my German pronunciation can you listen to this and comment

Angmar 02-29-2012 03:13 PM

I will listen.

RouteOne 02-29-2012 03:15 PM

I stumble here and there and I know I pronounced some words wrong

Angmar 02-29-2012 03:19 PM

Yeah some of the word clusters were a bit tongue twisty but that's to be expected, the biggest thing I noticed and what is probably easiest to mess up on is the pronunciation of R's at the beginning of a word, it's not really like you do it in English it's kind of supposed to be from the back of your throat with a slight roll to it but lot's of people are just lazy about it and don't care.

It sounded pretty good overall though.

RouteOne 02-29-2012 03:20 PM

Okay yeah I realized I was pronouncing the Rs wrong halfway through. Thanks man.
What?

You know DFW would be rolling in his grave.
nah he'd be calmly explaining whether it's an outright literary parody or a social satire

and also acknowledging that he has no direct control over this and all that matters is what is presented to the reader

Blazey 02-29-2012 03:34 PM

Pretty sure he'd be embarrassed for you. Especially since you said he was advocating the very writing he despises.

fingers mccoy 02-29-2012 03:35 PM

i never said he's advocating the writing

just the notion sustained by the writing

Blazey 02-29-2012 03:46 PM

He's not trying to support the, lol, "notion sustained by the writing"

Try again.

fingers mccoy 02-29-2012 03:52 PM

well he's succeeding even if he's not trying but you have no idea if he was at the time of writing it so

Blazey 02-29-2012 03:57 PM

What's another world advocating? Defending? Supporting? Is he trying to achieve that. Obviously no.

How is he succeeding?

(*The Sacred Chao*) 02-29-2012 04:18 PM

Bayesian logic bros

use your tenses

fingers mccoy 02-29-2012 04:18 PM
What's another world advocating? Defending? Supporting? Is he trying to achieve that. Obviously no.

because that is what he has written

the birth of the reader must come at the expense of the death of the author

witchxrapist 02-29-2012 06:04 PM

about 70% of the fruit flavored beer i've had has been way more beer-y than fruity, but i've had some shit that tastes like carbonated blueberry juice and just been like wtf mate?

illmitch 02-29-2012 06:04 PM

90 minute ipa rules

i started with stone's ruination, which is a malt/ipa

i really like fegely's hop'solutely the most out of any ipa/beer in general, and it's local to the LV so hell yeah

Angmar 02-29-2012 07:09 PM

90 Minute and Ruination both rule.

I've been drinking Stone's Smoked Porter a lot lately, so delicious.

witchxrapist 02-29-2012 07:11 PM

Steve. Order some Hop'solutely. It's seriously the best IPA imo, like two of those and you're drunk, and it tastes amazing.

robertsona 02-29-2012 07:24 PM

blockhead 02-29-2012 07:54 PM

Finally figured out the problem where when I record the sound drops. Recorded a rough version of a Mechanized Reptilian Holocaust song. Now I just need Mappy to write the lyrics and record the vocals. I like the way it turned out.

Juddy and Mappy get on FB and I'll show it to you.
