I got my ticket yesterday. Did you get GA?
Nah I got seating. I'm too old to stand up for three hours. Especially just a few short days after the draining activity that will be Splendour. Just for something different I'm digging: Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger |
Bill Withers - Still Bill
What do you think of that? I was kinda disappointed with it after Just As I Am. |
Vanderslice - Pixel Revolt and Cellar Door
|
Guided By Voices - Bee Thousand
The Apers - Reanimate My Heart |
Bee Thousand rules.
The new Polyphonic Spree is great, seeing them on Saturday. |
I'm digging all things Boris because I'm seeing them tonight. Fuck yes.
|
Have fun, they ruled when I saw them.
Here's a list of all my upcoming shows; Dinosaur Jr. - 6/7 Envy - 21/7 Tilly and the Wall - 2/8 The Cure - 8/8 Mono/World's End Girlfriend - 29/8 |
Oh man, those are 5 brilliant shows.
I'm pretty dried up because of lack of money/being away from uni, but I still have these booked between now and October: Truck Festival W/ Youthmovies, Brian Jonestown Massacre & more Reading Festival W/ Pumpkins, Arcade Fire, Interpol, Sparta & more Sonic Youth (Daydream) - yesss Fall of Troy & Horse The Band Boredoms |
Cheers br3ad. Some really good shows there too. You're lucky that Dinosaur Jr and Mono are so far apart, because seeing those two bands in quick succession would leave you deaf for sure. Two of the loudest bands I've ever seen, but both really amazing live.
Boris tonight is my last show for a month. I'm pretty excited about these 4 days in August: Slint performing Spiderland -- 20/8 Six Organs of Admittance -- 21/8 Sonic Youth performing Daydream Nation -- 22/8 Red Hot Chili Peppers -- 23/8 4 days of amazing shows in a row. RHCP I'm going to with a whole bunch of friends, so I'm sure that'll be really fun. And the first 3 is some of my favourite music, so it's gonna be incredible. |
I'm going to go see Battles again next month :)
Also Hot Cross/65 Days of Static and a few others. Also Mono with High on Fire. |
Seems to be a good time for gigs all round :)
Digging Cadence Weapon - Breaking Kayfabe Life Without Buildings - Any Other City First one is some seriously good Hip Hop, second is some of the best Indie-Pop I have heard for ages. |
Haha, yeah. I saw Sunn O))) a couple months ago as well (with Boris actually)...if I didn't own earplugs I would be so screwed. I need some better ones though. |

|
Battle of Mice - A Day of Nights
Listened to this last night when I came home from a party really early in the morning. It was pretty weird, I can't tell if I'm into it. |

3 inches of blood
Dream Theater |
Chemical Brothers - We Are The Night
|
Robbie Robertson - S/T
"Somewhere Down The Crazy River" comes close to being '80s pr0n music, but it's still enjoyable. The Undertones - S/T |
Electric Wizard - Dopethrone
One of my favorites ever. |
Electric Wizard is good. Warning is probably my favorite stoner band though.
|
Watching From a Distance rules.
|
Yeah thats a great album. I hate the production on it compared to The Strength To Dream. Its a casualty of the loudness war.
|
Never heard that one, I'll keep an eye out for it.
|
Quicksand - Slip
Rocks really hard. |
Been digging anything Justin Broadrick lately, though there's an album he's on by a project called God, album name Possession that I can't find, so if anyone happens to have it I would appreciate an upload.

Jeru the Damaja - The Sun Rises in the East
|
The Cherubs - Heroin Man
|
Big Butter - ... From the Udder
So far I like it. |
Dark Side of the Moon

good |
PIL-Metal Box
Some of it is tortuous and some of it is genius. Theres no middle ground though. |
Never heard that one, I'll keep an eye out for it.
i am coming to chuck levins tomorrow tbh |
What do you think of that?
I was kinda disappointed with it after Just As I Am.
I like it. He sounds a little more assured, but most of my memories of "Lean On Me" are associated with morning elementary school sing-a-longs so that always throws the album off for me.
The Ronettes' greatest hits.

Jeru the Damaja - The Sun Rises in the East
:) Today: Gene Clark - White Light Ghost - Snuffbox Immanence The Teardrop Explodes - Kilimanjaro |
