Unwound - Challenge For A Civilized Society
June Of 44 - Tropics & Meridians I've been trying to take advantage of the Last.fm playlist feature by putting these albums onto it. Unfortunately, it doesn't completely work since it puts all the tracks on shuffle. |
Warning-The Strength to Dream
This is the best doom/stoner album I've heard. Excellent singer. |
Trencher
|
Dälek - Absence
which song is that
doesnt matter, most of their best songs have Guy on vocals (from their first two albums at least) just figured out how to play Blueprint and realized it was pretty good. not as good as Repeater, Shut the Door, or Sieve-Fisted Find from that album though. man i really need to get the later albums. |

Yo Kage.

Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger
It's great. The part where he yells 'guitar solo' is pretty funny. |
Bark Psychosis - Hex
Pharoah Sanders - Karma Hex is pretty great. Not as good as anything like Laughing Stock though. |
bark psychosis is sweet i haven't listened to them in forever
|
The For Carnation
|
Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Tortoise - TNT Dr. Octagonecologyst is really good. Way better than I expected I'm not usually into this style. |
The red paintings- Walls (EP).
I needed some depressing violins yet remarkably up-lifting. |
Dr. Octagon - Dr. Octagonecologyst
The Flaming Lips - Yoshimi Battles The Pink Robots Tortoise - TNT Dr. Octagonecologyst is really good. Way better than I expected I'm not usually into this style.
i love Dr Oc, my favorite album is definitely Return of Dr. Octagon.. do you have that? if not i can up it for you, it has such great production- miles ahead of Octagonecologyst, which gives him a lot of creative room and he has really grown creatively so its got better songs that also sound better better aesthetically. |
Times New Viking
Good band. They're on Siltbreeze, which pretty much makes them cool |
Ryan Adams - Easy Tiger
It's excellent. It's at least on par with Cold Roses and it might even be his best album since Heartbreaker. |
Yeah man. I'm thinking it might even form some sort of Ryan Adams trinity with Heartbreaker and Love is Hell.
|
Wipers - Is This Real
haven't listened to this in a long time. So good. |
Yawning Man - Rock Formations
i love Dr Oc, my favorite album is definitely Return of Dr. Octagon.. do you have that? if not i can up it for you, it has such great production- miles ahead of Octagonecologyst, which gives him a lot of creative room and he has really grown creatively so its got better songs that also sound better better aesthetically.
I'd totally forgotten that existed. I think Crumb sent me one song ("Ants"?) when it was new, and I liked it, which was surprising in itself since I'm not that great a fan of the first album. Thanks for the reminder. |
Black Sabbath is my favourite band of late, after their self-titled album and Paranoid becoming a strong part of my musical tastes Master of Reality is one of my favourite albums of all time now after a month or two of listening to it. Listening to Vol. 4, i hated it at first but some of the songs on their are gelling nicely now.
As for modern bands i am digging, Souvenirs D'un Autre Monde by Alcest is an album i really like at the moment. I am listening to a lot of Ween as well. |
The Fall - This Nation's Saving Grace
I've heard 5 Fall albums before this, and it seemed I had a habit of listening to the not-so-good ones. This is a really interesting album, and much better than the ones I've heard prior to this. |
Theres a torrent floating around of The Fall's peel sessions throughout Peel's life. 6 discs of their best songs and cleanest recording quality. Download it.

Only a Mother - Feral Chickens
I'm in the mood for residents-influenced music from the 90's. So only a mother, giant ant farm, heavy vegetable, idiot flesh, and primus will be in order. It's also kind of putting me in the mood for circus music. |
Black Flag - My War
Best post-Damaged album. |

But "Skip to the End" is still a pretty fun song. [*]Every American pop artist during the early 60s probably wanted to sound the same, but I'm ok with that. [*]All I really wanna do is play Annette Poindexter & Pieces of Peace's "Wayward Dream" over and over again. [*]The Mekons were rad and the folks who knocked them in that one thread can go to hell. I found this Brazilian funk compilation if you are interested, Crumb.
