pixiesfanyo 11-30-2006 12:54 PM

oh yeah.

Electioneering doesn't fit on the album at all too.

Iai 11-30-2006 12:54 PM

"The Tourist" is one of my favourite final tracks on an album, and "Lucky" flat-out rules. And claiming "Fitter Happier" doesn't work is like saying Trainspotting would be better without the monologue at the beginning.

And without the pairing of "Fitter Happier" and "Electioneering" the album wouldn't have the ballast it does. They're needed to inject power into it. Without them, "Climbing Up The Walls" could have felt like a dirge. With them, it's the best thing Radiohead have ever done.

pixiesfanyo 11-30-2006 12:56 PM

What?

The monologue at the beginning Trainspotting, isn't a computer voice talking over noise scapes. You have the bad ass end of Karma Police, and then it's ruined by Fittier Happier's self indulgence. Also Lucky and The Tourist are just boring and too much like the beginning of the record.

Iai 11-30-2006 12:57 PM

You actually think "The Tourist" and "Lucky" sound like "Airbag" and "Paranoid Android"? Are you serious?

pixiesfanyo 11-30-2006 01:41 PM

more like Exit Music and Subterranean

YDload 11-30-2006 03:35 PM

Electioneering is one of the best songs on the album. too bad it doesnt fit with the others.

Eliminator 11-30-2006 05:10 PM

airbag's drum beat makes the song

Tangy zizzle 11-30-2006 05:12 PM

I'm not getting into any argument about the record as a whole, but 'm standing up on this one... Let Down is the best song on the album, plain and simple.

Kage 11-30-2006 05:14 PM

I think Exit Music is really emotional.

Kage 11-30-2006 05:18 PM

Oh, dang.

Eliminator 11-30-2006 05:19 PM

heart of glass is an awesome song

Kage 11-30-2006 05:22 PM

Well the lead singer from Blondie is in the movie Videodrome.

AlienEater 11-30-2006 05:30 PM

Videodrome is a great movie

Kage 11-30-2006 05:32 PM

Very true. One of the best ever made in my opinion.

SubtleDagger 11-30-2006 06:36 PM

Heart of Glass is fine and all but Blondie is kind of lame most of the time

/downloads Police albums

Little Man being Erased 11-30-2006 06:38 PM

Parallel Lines is a fantastic album.

SubtleDagger 11-30-2006 06:40 PM

Actually screw that

/gets Police greatest hits

If I can have Message in a Bottle and Wrapped Around Your Finger on the same album then I will dammit

SubtleDagger 11-30-2006 06:48 PM

Is Vol. 3 any good because this always sounds awesome

Big pimpin, spendin cheese
Big pimpin, on B.L.A.D.'s
Big pimpin in P.A.T.
It's just that Jigga Man, Pimp C, and B-U-N B

Smokin out, throwin up, keepin lean up in my cup
All my car got leather and wood, in my hood we call it buck
Everybody wanna ball, holla at broads at the mall
If he up, watch him fall, nigga I can't fuck witch'all

asymm 11-30-2006 06:48 PM

Prosaics - Aghast Agape EP
Scorch Trio - Luggumt

SubtleDagger 11-30-2006 07:04 PM

Eh I hear it's crappy (Vol. 3)

The lyrics for Wrapped Around Your Finger are so stupid but the chorus is godly

ATM 11-30-2006 07:32 PM

None of the volumes are that good. I always liked Vol 2 just because it's the one I got when I first started getting into rap.

Iai 11-30-2006 07:35 PM

I don't get the hype with Reasonable Doubt. People putting it on the level of Illmatic and Ready To Die is a joke.

Bukowski 11-30-2006 07:40 PM

Jesu - Silver
Swans - Children of God

_Mote_ 11-30-2006 07:42 PM

Illmatic is my second favorite rap album ever. The cliche number one goes to Public Enemy's ITANOMTHUB.

YDload 11-30-2006 07:57 PM

"All Lies" is a standout Nomeansno song off of Wrong.

_Mote_ 11-30-2006 08:08 PM
good selections.

yeah I am not a Public Enemy fan at all.
Why not, I really like Chuck's flow. It's not about speed or aggressiveness for me, and he has amazing lyrics.

Iai 11-30-2006 08:22 PM

Ready To Die sits very comfortably in my top 5 rap records ever, along with the two obvious PE albums, Doggystyle, and The Marshall Mathers LP.

Being white is fun.

_Mote_ 11-30-2006 08:23 PM

I haven't heard that. I don't like much later PE, but damn, the early stuff is great.

EDIT: Bomb Squad I mean.

Little Man being Erased 11-30-2006 08:29 PM

I'm not a fan of Public Enemy either.
"All Lies" is a standout Nomeansno song off of Wrong.
The whole album rules.

Iai 11-30-2006 08:31 PM
I haven't heard that. I don't like much later PE, but damn, the early stuff is great.

The Bomb Squad were PE's production team up until Apocalypse '91. So all the stuff you like is Bomb Squad-produced.
