me and lightningmetal666 have a lil competition about it :p
yea but I learned the hard way that if you spam like that to get a higher post count people start hating you well you guys haven't really spammed much. so metallica. i've been working on battery a lot lately. i tried out my old fender and it's got some great tone for fade to black |
i've been working on battery a lot lately
Man, I can nearly do everything but the gallopy verse. Even the solo's easier than the gallops. |
Man, I can nearly do everything but the gallopy verse. Even the solo's easier than the gallops.
Yea I'm still working on that mostly. I can almost get it, it's just way too fast for me. The solos I haven't really tried much. I perfected the intro and chorus |
what am I looking for?
or who? |
what am I looking for?
or who?
Go to the site forum and check the banned users thread. |
I did and I'm not in there

You'll have to wait a bit then.
Or you could ask in the banning enquiries thread. |

Right now I can't help but tomorrow I might post out my settings on my Marshall. It doesn't sound exactly like 'Tallica but still it's an awesome sound. Welcome to the forums :) |
thanks for the respond but im not talking about the setting on the amp im talking about on the ds1 distortion i donno might go get a different one but it works good its just finding a sutable tone one that sounds like metallica and still plays with wah without drowning the wah out
|
Ah right. I can't help you there then.
|
DS-1 is a very marginal distortion pedal. If you want easy Metallica tones just get a Metal Zone, but it won't do anything else.
In my advanced rock group class (called 'Test Flight') I am really good buddies with the bassist and he gives me rides home and so I want to do a band with him. The only drawback is that he is more into stuff like the chili peppers and funk bass than thrash metal.:upset: He still kicks ass on the bass though. And he is the reason why my rep is going up at the college. Apparently he is a fan of my playing.
Do it man. Thrashy guitar lines with some really funky bass... :D |
That would be awesome. give it a try man. see I often do like Funk Upbeat riffs but have insane Chromatic death bass in backround.
|
Guys I need your guidance.
Can anyone link me to a 100% correct version of Sanortariums? |
try http://www.powertabs.net

QUite a few pages back there was discussion about Mustaine and Hammet...i think i was wrong, Mustaine is better. He is alot better than i first thought.

God I'm so stoked. :D
I decided to not get the esp guitar for now and I bought a line 6 spider II amp (30 watt). This thing fucking rocks!!!! I played around with the echo and flanger settings and I dialed in a tone that sounds just like Kirk's tone in his intro solo to FTB. I tweaked it a bit more and found my new fav. tone that sounds similar. I didn't go to sleep until almost 1 in the morning (and I had to get up at 4 mind you) because I was playing every kind of Metallica, Megadeth and Slayer that I could think of to break in this new amp. Compared to my Marshall Mg 10 watt this thing is enormous!!! Both in size and tone. :thumb: Hey I wanted to thank you guys for your suggestions as to which songs to include into my own version of the ...And Justice For All medley. It's coming along great. |
Cool. Can I join in?
yeah sure... waaiitttt, your winning  anyway, i was reading what you and gocaps were saying about battery. Ive never attempted the solo, is it hard? I know what it goes like, just dont know how to play it oh yeah and I just learnt the memory remains :) cant believe I didnt learn that song before, I love the S & M version which reminds me... is it just me, or is james's singing at its best on that DVD/CD? |
yeah sure...

I know what it goes like, just dont know
Just a bit  But the solo's kind of easy, just do the usual, play it slow and speed it up. You realise that it wasn't a written solo, just an improv when you see the tab. |

Hey guys, I can't believe that i haven't posted in this thread sooner, being a Metallica freak and all...
Are most of you guys guitarists or is there a few others as well? EDIT: What EQ do you guys use for a Metallica tone (i'm talking MoP, RtL and Black)? I'm an ESP LTD EX-50 through a Boss Metal Zone (Mid: 3-4 Treb: 7 Bass 8-9) into any amp with the same settings. |

I haven't started recording because i haven't bothered to get off my a** and do it yet...
|
I'm a guitarist, and I record a lot. :D
I wish you recorded more  You're pretty good imo. |
What program do you record with, and what hardware do you use? I am a total recording n00b.

anyone ever noticed a similarity between RTL, MOP, and AJFA? For example, the first songs have cool intros and are very thrashy, the second song on each is the title track, and the fourth song on each are the ballads. It was probably intentional.

Instrumentals were some of the last tracks (8 on AJFA and RTL, 7 on MOP). Track 3's were slower tracks. Yeah. |
Yeah. I wish KEA had a "Kill 'Em All" track. Would've been cool.
Self-titled songs are great on all three of those :) They all are pretty long too, and have pretty good guitar work. |
All of the track 2s were arguably the most 'epic' (see: lengthy) songs as well.

yea and they also have notes that are the same like the intros to One Saniterium and FTB |

Fade To Black, Sanitarium, and One all start with a B chord (once the main clean riff gets in)
