I am about to go to a store called the Dump-tique, where everything is free :)

People drop off stuff they don't want anymore, and then a group of people go through it to see if it is suitable. They have records, tapes, CD's, books, etc. I'll see if I can find any good music.

Peace.

Sounds like a pretty cool concept but what is the owner's profit? Have you got anything interesting from there in the past?

Syncratic 07-12-2005 08:02 AM

That store sounds great, I wish there was a store around here (Central PA) like that.

Unfortunately, I'm doomed to Wal-Mart (prices really aren't that bad, just their music selection sucks.)

I can't STAND Wal-Mart's music. One, because they have a crappy selection. Two, because they won't sell unedited cds.

I personally like BestBuy. They have great prices and a great selection, although lately, i couldn't find anything there that i have really wanted...

RiceMonster 07-12-2005 09:31 AM

There's a few cd stores near me with GREAT selections and prices. I don't like buying cds at any department store, because they never seem to have a good selection.

Sup thread. I'm working on next week's installment of my "Classical appropriations by Heavy Metal" series. The analysis will come with sound files of the songs that are being discussed and representative songs of guitarists that are discussed, in addition to music transcription. I'm pretty excited: next week will be a much more interesting, tangible article.

 I'm glad I have no idea what's going on.

Writing today. Unforunately, I'm not supposed to be on the board today, so I'll catch you all either later, (if I get a chance to get on) or tomorrow.

The short short short version of what you missed for that comment:

we were discussing about how some guy should be banned in the Hardcore/metalcore forum for posting pr0n pics in the community thread, any way it led to us ridiculing them, and the fact that in the hardcore/metalcore scene right now it is the extremely cool thing to do if youre a guy to buy skin tight girls jeans, a lot of them are starting to wear lowriders now.

Gross. Ok. I agree about banning him.

Funny thing is, you're right. People up here complain about how theres far more American teams in the NHL, when most of the viewers are Canadian, and a extremely large number of the players in the NHL are Canadian.

Haha. There's actually a semi-large audience of Hockey watchers here in North Carolina, I remember the "Carolina Hurricane" craze a few years back, when we were doing good in the NHL.

Oh god, Golf. My dad is a Golf nut, and has the Golf Channel on almost 24/7, which is actually kind of scary.

Hey, golf is damn fun to play.

And while we're talking about hockey, Boston actually used to be a hockey town back in the days of Bobby Orr and the Big Bad Bruins. Chicago, however, has been a football town for ages. Basketball has been pretty big too, not just the Bulls either, but the playgrounds in Chicago are a basketball hotbed, right up there with New York. Basketball being, of course, the best game in the world :)

Also, "Levon" sounds like such a black name

I'm guessing that was the year they knocked The Leafs out of the playoffs. :upset:

Arucard 07-12-2005 10:36 AM

Not entirely sure which one yet, i just pray that the thread stays open until tonight. As i have gained alot of posts on this account too, i think im going to get a merge. I don't intend to get banned again very soon.

NJMetalMeister 07-12-2005 10:39 AM
I'd respond to this, but I think I just had an aneurysm.
Its the fact that the games score is so high. When scoring is that often in a game, the points are essentially meaningless. Take soccer for instance, if a team wins 5-0, that is a landslide victory, but if a basketball team wins by only 5 points its a very close game. You dont get the same excitement you would from a team scoring in basketball that you would in just about any other sport. It just goes back and forth and back and forth and back and forth. So boring.

Me?

and me, and the swedish. Swedish hockey is insane by the way, i was there during the finals between stockholm and gothenburg, and we saw half the games in pubs in stockholm then half in pubs in gothenburg, insanity.

And yes, golf is fun to play, but it is extremely boring to watch, but i would think most people would not argue that.

Arucard 07-12-2005 10:43 AM

In defense of golf : Happy Gilmour.

Ooops at spelling it gold.

I think you're watching for the wrong reasons. The best part about basketball is that no sport combines the necessity of team play with individual brilliance as well as it does.
In defense of golf : Happy Gilmour.
Caddyshack is so much better.
