Someone had cash to blow.

The Great Decay 03-14-2007 04:29 PM

Any of you know where I can find a decent/accurate guitar tab for "Tigersuit" by Raein? Or a general site for skram tabs?
Someone had cash to blow.
well, i always thought that vinyl had no purpose other than collecting. so i had a really really cheap turntable to play the few records i did have. well, i picked up a much nicer one with a nice cartridge just for the hell of it like two weeks or so ago. and to my amazement it sounds awesome. i like it better than cds, so now i am rebuying a ton of **** on vinyl. its costing a little bit. this is from ebay in the last two weeks:
Won: Quantity: 69 Amount: $1,265.23

The Great Decay 03-14-2007 04:32 PM

That's ridiculous.

Matt? 03-14-2007 04:35 PM

f'uck SAVING

srt-4 03-14-2007 04:36 PM

eh, its not too bad. i think i'll be able to get most of what i want for under 2500

Matt? 03-14-2007 04:37 PM

you say that like it's not a lot of money

The Great Decay 03-14-2007 04:38 PM

Someone isn't a starving student.

Luxor 03-14-2007 04:39 PM

I'm sure I've spent tons of money on music over the years, but doing it all at once does make it seem pretty ridiculous.

The Great Decay 03-14-2007 04:40 PM

I would've bought a s'hitty car or something.

srt-4 03-14-2007 04:42 PM

well, i worked 40 hours a week for the past 4 years while going to school full time and didn't have time to spend all the money i was making. now i graduate this summer and i already have a new car and 10k in the bank, and i'm going to be getting a better job. so 2500 really isn't a big deal. might as well spend it on something i want.

whiteminority 03-14-2007 04:51 PM

Where you getting a job at? I know you are a poli sci major so I figured you would get like a masters or something.

Also I want to see a list of incoming records, and records you are still wanting.

Matt? 03-14-2007 04:52 PM

that's pretty cool. pretty psyched to drop a grand on records in the future. sounds fun.

for now though a new amp just sounds better to me, NO PUN INTENDED

Matt? 03-14-2007 04:57 PM

you're right, i am going to get a masters. but first i'm going to do a few years in the army. its a critical time and i want to do more to make a difference than make page-long posts on the internet. after that i'll go back to school. i'm definitely not doing it for the money, but with officer pay, practically no expenses, and enlistment bonuses, i won't have to worry about money either. i might as well spend 2500 if i feel like it. can't take it with me if i go.

i'll put together a list sometime soon and post it up if you want. i've been meaning to do that. i've been buying so much vinyl that i'm kind of loosing track of it all. i think i've bought some records twice by accident. haha.

That's what I'm thinking. Unfortunately I don't really ever have the time or the patience to dedicate to sitting and figuring out a song by ear.

telemore 03-15-2007 12:57 PM

I assume you mean newer stuff that has come out.

The newest stuff round these parts that I can dig on are the new Hot Cross and Locust albums (Risk Revival and New Erections, respectively).

Wow, hearing you reccomend bands takes me back about a year. Not a bad thing though.

Elliptical Ion 03-15-2007 03:15 PM

I can pretty much provide stuff for every thing that has a * or two.
