how you guys can write a list i dont know id be writing at least a 30 track list at the minimum id need to have atleast half of each album i have

Shaneth_Bass 10-18-2004 04:22 PM

Maiden rule! Most of the stuff im learning to play on my bass is maiden, Number of the beast, aces high, afraid to shoot strangers, not very good yet but getting better, Steve Harris rules

Riva 10-18-2004 04:31 PM

Yeah, I would not be able to put up a favourites list at all...

Shady Ultima 10-18-2004 05:26 PM

(These are the songs off the 5 albums I own)
1. Aces High
2. Phantom of The Opera
3. The Prisoner
4. The Number of the Beast
5. The Trooper
6. Two Minutes to Midnight
7. Flight of Icarus
8. Rime of the Ancient Mariner
9. Hallowed be Thy Name
10. Iron Maiden
11. Wicker Man (I don't own this CD)
12. Sanctuary
13. Age of Innocence
14. Powerslave
15. No More Lies

Can anyone guess which CD's I own? And I know Gurs is gonna hate me for saying this, but IMO Clive Burr is a better drummer than Nicko McBrian, and Adrian is their best 2nd guitarist ever. IMO the best lineup is best on NOTB, with Bruce, and Clive, and Adrian. Who's in your favourite lineup?

Riva 10-19-2004 01:40 AM

Powerslave, Number Of The Beast, Iron Maiden, Piece Of Mind, Dance Of Death.

Same as me, except add Rock In Rio and Brave New World :thumb:

Anyways, can anyone tell me what Wicker Man is about? Because I saw a movie at my video store with the same name, and I was wondering if they are related at all.

icebase 10-19-2004 04:32 AM

dude if i had relly thought about it and i didnt really i would have at least sixty and theres the problem. Do you know of any cd that can hold sixty songs. I know of three a dvd or an mp3 or a minidisk. It like all needs to fit on one album.

And by the way whoever said phantom of the opera is good im sick of it. wouldnt go im my top 100 maiden songs.

Hell no man
nicko is like so much better. clive was good i have to admit. but nickos better.

ashman 10-19-2004 10:31 AM

Nicko owns all drummers in the universe EVER...Need I say anymore?

GurS 10-19-2004 01:53 PM

no. *look at my screen name*

and i was toying with the idea of having phantom in the opera on my ideal cd... but in truth, you're gonna have to leave some songs out. and, well, i think only took a maxium of 3 songs from each cd (less in most cases), and the three i chose from the STA were, i feel, more necessary than phantom. but it's still a wicked mad song

Shady Ultima 10-19-2004 05:21 PM

I knew that you would disagree Gurs! I'm not a drummer, and I just was listening to the ST and NOTB and I enjoyed the drums more. I still think Dave Lombardo of Slayer is better. You can't say I can't have my opinion though. Anyways, what is the picture that is made when all the CD's are put together? It looks like thefront cover of the ST, is that what it is?

acefrehleyjendell 10-19-2004 07:26 PM

ok i have an inqiry,, um on the trooper is dave playing a fender, coz i dont see any strats with hums and flloyd rose unless it was another brand or custom made, i could be wrong, just wondering,

UP THE IRONS \M/

acefrehleyjendell 10-19-2004 07:31 PM

The most consistent lineup would definately be with bruce, steve, dave, adrian, nicko but IMO the best would be the current (just listen to brave new world or dance of death) but there best album is probly peice of mind or powerslave .......ACE :thumb:

Lord Abortion 10-20-2004 07:49 AM

will post my ideal songs later because I havent got my list I made here with me (I'm at school)

ashman 10-20-2004 09:10 AM

3 Dates for next years tour have been announced...they are:

Parc Des Princes Stadium, Paris on June 25th
Hartwall Arena, Helsinki on July 6th
Ullevi Stadium, Gothenburg on July 9th

None of them anywhere near me :(

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-20-2004 11:10 AM

IRON MAIDEN: Eddie Rips Up The World - Oct. 20, 2004

According to a posting at the IRON MAIDEN fan site MaidenFans.com, IRON MAIDEN's upcoming tour will likely be called "Eddie Rips Up The World Tour", based on the various posters appearing for the already-announced dates. The trek will apparently comprise between 20 and 25 shows. It is unknown if this number represents the scope of the entire tour or only its European leg.

Nothing is known about the opening date of the tour and the continents that will be visited. However, MAIDEN vocalist Bruce Dickinson has told the Swedish newspaper Goteborg Posten that the last show in Europe will be the Gothenburg gig at Ullevi on July 9 (this is still in line with flying rumors that MAIDEN might make an appearance on Ozzfest 2005 in the USA).

OMG I WOULD GO CRAZY if they did Ozzfest, as i get front row every year!!!!

Dave Lambardo wether in Slayer, Grip Inc, or Fantomas has one style of drumming. He never changes up what he does in a song and i never felt did anyhting more than be a basic metal timekeeper, Bostoph was a much more well rounded drummer than Dave and Nicko's stlye is alot more important to Maiden than Lambardo's is to Slayer.

ashman 10-20-2004 01:50 PM

Is it me, or is this thread starting to die?

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-20-2004 02:23 PM
Hell no man

Clive and Nicko are two different animals. When Clive was in the band the music was more agressive and raw sounding and his power drumming style fit that like a glove. When the band evolved with Bruce in the lineup their style of writing changed and they begane to write more epic music that required less agressive drumming and more structured playing which is where Nicko steps in, he's diverse from album to album (listne to each one, he follows a pattern on each album). Both are essiential to the Maiden sound, but i dont think Clive would have sounded as well blended with how Maiden turned out as he did in their early days.

YDload 10-21-2004 09:49 AM

They will never play MY ultimate setlist because they can't agree on how to play "Flight of Icarus" anymore. Also, they would have to play several Loverboy covers.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-21-2004 11:14 AM

I think Frails list is by far the best...if they did do out of the silent planet live...that would be bloody sweet

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-21-2004 01:58 PM

^^^

hehe thank ya thank ya :) i wanted to hit a decent number of albums (they just have so many!) and i could care less how many times they've played the number of the beast and run to the hills...they are just to **** special to watch live to miss!! yes i would love to hear out of the silent planet live, funny how it was a single from brave new world but wasn't included in the setlist for the tour.

PS: if you ask me they could have cut out "dream of mirrors" and put in "out of the silent planet" or "the fallen angel".

Riva 10-21-2004 04:42 PM

I'd prefer to hear "out of the silent planet" more than "the fallen angel".

Thunder Fingers 10-21-2004 04:48 PM

Ifthey had Cut Dream of mirrors, they could play both OOTSP and TFA....

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-21-2004 05:01 PM

^^^

or that lol.
I'd prefer to hear "out of the silent planet" more than "the fallen angel".
i think thats a toss up for me really. The Fallen Angel has one of my favourite chorus' out of all Maiden's tunes and Adrian's lead at the end is fantastic, while i love the melody of Out of the Silent plant very much and Nicko gallops like a stallion hehe. Overall, either one id be satisfied....Dream of Mirrors (aside from The Thin Line Between Love and Hate) is my least favourite song on the album.

FrailandBedazzled1979 10-21-2004 05:18 PM

ok heres one for us all....

If Iron Maiden performed with a symphony (like metallica, kiss, scorpions etc...) what songs would fit best with that mixture. my first vote goes to "blood brothers".

Riva 10-21-2004 05:20 PM

Rime Of The Ancient Mariner. Can you imagine the atmosphere the orchestra could provide? :thumb:

Kurtz 10-21-2004 05:27 PM

Brave New World [song] would be pretty sweet with symphony. So would GOTN.

YDload 10-21-2004 10:01 PM

Hallowed Be Thy Name. It's already one of Maiden's best songs ever, and orchestras would probably get lost in the galloping rhythms of most of their other songs (not much fast percussion in a symphony).

Lateralias 10-21-2004 10:05 PM
Hallowed Be Thy Name. It's already one of Maiden's best songs ever, and orchestras would probably get lost in the galloping rhythms of most of their other songs (not much fast percussion in a symphony).
Oh gosh, that either sound extremely great, or horrible as in the way CoF butchered the song. A other good one would be Revelations... its a slower tempo Maiden song so I could see that sounding beautiful with an orchestra.

Anyone knows the exact date when The Early Days DVD comes out?

UntoldProphecy 10-22-2004 05:32 AM

PeEpHoLe_10 10-22-2004 05:35 AM

I know this might be an amateur question, but im new to maiden. When did they last come to Australia?
