C'mon, big guy. You could make a fortune, rather than wasting your time talking trash on this forum.

Admit it, dude. When it comes to music, you can't write ANYTHING that anybody would buy.
umm i agree 100%. I am NOT good at writing music, you're right. But just because I can't doesn't mean I can't critisize other peoples..

FruitarGeek 01-04-2006 04:24 PM

Im loving this forum already, talking about my favorite band of all times.

I mean you dont have to like Angus or even malcom or hell even cliff you can even hate ACDC on the whole but 1 thing you cannot hate about them is... drum role please..........

Thunder. lalalalaaalaalaaalaaa Thunder Lalalalaaalaaalaaaalaaa

I was caught in the middle of a railroad track
I looked round and I knew there was no turning back
My mind raced, and I thought what could I do
And I knew there was no help, no help from you
Sound of the drums, beating in my heart
The thunder of guns, tore me apart
You've been, (anxious pause) thunderstruck

If that song doenst do it for you I dont know what will. I am a huge fan of ACDC and have been for a while, they are in my mind one of the pioneers to great rock and roll obviously with the help from the greats such as Rolling stones,Zepplin,Cream,Floyd etc.

Angus is a great soloist but not the best he just uses alot of cliche's and tricks and can play them at a mind bogling speed. Malcom well he is... Unique he can keep his timing good and still look awsome on stage. Oh and I by fat prefer Brian to Bon, Brian just fits the role. I have to agree that some of their songs sound SIMILAR but never the same their is always something that seperates the Simialer from same.

Anyway hope you guys will all be listening to thunderstruck and singing, along I know I am.

rippa32 01-04-2006 07:57 PM

How long have you been an AC/DC fan FruitarGeek? Ill take a guess at not long.

thunderzstruck 01-04-2006 09:10 PM
How long have you been an AC/DC fan FruitarGeek? Ill take a guess at not long.
haha truth. Because honestly I have never met a huge fan of them (knows ALOT of their music and such) that like thunderstruck as their favorite song or Brian (in most cases.) Not saying it's bad, just seems like it

Chris_lpp 01-05-2006 05:52 PM
1. The Beatles
2. Led Zeppelin
3. The Eagles
4. Pink Floyd
5. AC/DC

Name ANY rock band in history that isn't on the above list, and AC/DC has sold more records than they have.

To be number five all-time, out of all the thousands of rock bands that have ever existed---is pretty impressive.

Anybody who thinks AC/DC has little or no songwriting talent is easily proven to be a fool.

If something requires little or no talent to do, that means virtually ANYBODY can do it.

So why don't the self-proclaimed music experts who bash AC/DC, go out and form their own band? Let's see if our so-called "experts" can sell 66 MILLION albums, sell out concert venues on a regular basis for years, and become multi-millionaires with millions of fans on several different continents!

If it doesn't take much talent, then LET'S SEE 'EM DO IT!
Bon Jovi 100,000,000 :thumb:

Chris_lpp 01-05-2006 05:58 PM
^^How is "Let There Be Rock" the movie, I heard it's good.

I have AC/DC's entire studio discography, just a little fun fact.

So what if they sold that much, like I already said N'SYNC and Backstreet Boys sold over 20 million during thier carrer, are those 20 million people right to? No, they just have an oppinion.

1.Angus has some good solos reuses them so much that he hardly has any originality anymore.
2.Anyone who has sence of time and a big amp can be just as good as Malcolm, it's not that hard.

Two of which are live albums but that's besides the point. Just wondering do you know what Angus said in a reply in a interview when the interviewer said, "You have 16 albums that sound the same, what do you think about that", he said, "we have 16 albums that sound the same". Just so you know he even thinks that he has albums that sound the same.
ok....

1). fucl< up :)
2). did you know they were just having fun..just going out and playing.
3).you probably couldnt write mary had a little lamd.

when was something like that ever bad...every band sounds the same. Angus probably just doesn't give a shlt what sounds the same, his name will be ~REMEMBERED :smash:

He isnt the best musician in the world, but the blues is limited in some ways.
He's the best live player anyone would ever want to be. :smash:

Had that arguement about the stage presence thing aswell.
THe argument was that he said that they didn't sound that same and I was pointing out that even Angus thinks they do.

Another question, do you even know what the fuck any of the arguments were about, my guess is no so read the entire argument before you post.

Illmatic 01-05-2006 06:31 PM
AC/DC plays blistering HARD ROCK, that's definitely not geared toward the masses.
Considering the success AC/DC has had, didn't you basically prove yourself wrong here? And I'm pretty sure you're a big Bee Gees fan, right?

AC/DC is pretty annoying, but their music doesn't bother me. It isn't good, but it isn't bad, either; it couldn't be more mediocre if it tried. But I do have something against a band that writes a song like "Have a Drink on Me" months after their popular lead singer drinks himself to death. It would be like Puffy doing a song about how awesome drive-by shootings are months after Biggie died.

Jesus christ, nobody gives a ****. Shut it with the whole arguement bull. Your arguements were babbling.

To be fair, the whole album was devoted to Bon. If you look at the lyrics to "Have A Drink On Me", if anything their talking about Bons approach to drink.

They took a year out to come to terms with the death... and hit back in the best way possible. An album covered in black, devoted.

Sammysmells 01-06-2006 09:13 AM

Haha, Ac\Dc has two versions. The Bon Scott version and the Brian Johnsons version. My opinion, is that they rocked so much harder with Bon Scott. The Bon Scott days were THE days for Ac\Dc. I mean sure, their classic album Back In Black was with Brian Johnson and don't get me wrong it's a GREAT album. But who's to say Highway to Heell isn't a classic album?...That is the best Ac\Dc album out there, and it's a pitty because the only songs people know off it, are the title track and Giirl's got Rythm. Ac\Dc can get repetitive. But anything with Bon Scott is gold.

They did, I thought I read somewhere they started rehearsing like a month or so after the funeral which was like 2 weeks after his death. I always wondered how the whole album could be dedicated to Bon if have the album was written before he died, Like for example "Have A Drink On Me".

Oh my god, are you really stupid enough to think that the only way to sell records is to appeall to the masses? in the 70's-80's, the masses wanted people who dressed up and wore makeup on stage and **** like that. AC/DC stuck to their roots and continued to sell millions of records. in the 90's, people wanted grunge. AC/DC stuck with Rock and still sold 10 or so million records. Now, people want hot girl pop singers who don't write or sing their own music. and thats about as far as you can get from AC/DC. and still, they sell millions of albums. so, actually, no, he doesn't prove himself wrong. :smash:

Misfits101 01-08-2006 02:08 PM

Does anyone know of any webs sites about AC/DC Tribute bands? that you can download the song that they re-made called "Rock And Roll Ain't Noise Pollution" (1 of my top 5 songs!)

Music Man 01-09-2006 06:26 PM
Bon Jovi 100,000,000
Your number is BOGUS.

According to the most recent Recording Industry Association of America figures, Bon Jovi has sold 32,000,000 records.

That's LESS THAN HALF of what AC/DC has sold.

Drunken Viking 01-09-2006 06:33 PM

I guess they don't have the talent to produce popular music like AC/DC.

Music Man 01-09-2006 06:43 PM

"Back In Black" is the number two selling album of ALL-TIME, WORLDWIDE---IN ANY GENRE OF MUSIC. Only one album in the history of music has sold more copies.

It has worldwide certified sales of over 42 MILLION copies, according to the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI).

AC/DC is also the number two selling hard rock band in history, trailing only Led Zeppelin.

Music Man 01-09-2006 06:55 PM
I guess they don't have the talent to produce popular music like AC/DC.
AC/DC plays hard rock, not pop.

But we don't expect you to know the difference, since you weren't even able to understand the difference between Britney Spears and AC/DC.

Britney is a cute face who sings mainstream pop songs that others write for her. She doesn't write her own music or play any instruments.

AC/DC plays blistering hard rock. They write their own music and play their own instruments--in the studio and on stage.

Metallica has sold 57 million albums. Are you going to say that their music is "pop", also? :p

I have been a ACDC fan for about 2 years now. Ooo and Thunderstruck is a good song but dont get me wrong I love all the other songs such as:

TNT
Who made who
Razors Edge
Money talks
problem child
hells bells
back in black
Shook me all night long
Are you ready
Highway to hell

etc...

Hey jackass I said they had a talent to produce popular music, not pop music. You even said they did.
"AC/DC had a TALENT for producing enormously popular hard rock music."
Popular hard rock music is just like saying popular music, it's a subcategory if you will.

Aren't "the masses" the ones buying the albums?

And I believe that by the early 90's, AC/DC was selling albums mostly due to their name.

Anyone heard anything new about the new CD?

Drunken Viking 01-16-2006 02:15 AM

Just that they had enough material for about 2 albums, and that they were gonna start to record soon, but it's been pretty low key.

Bon_Scottie 01-16-2006 04:21 AM

Its pissed me off that they havent released anything yet.

I want a new album, right now. I demand Angus gets out of his wheelchair and starts pumping those riffs.
