Do you guys have a song ready right now?

Where is it?
Hell no we don't have one ready.

I'll be putting up my bass tracks for Drapery today hopefully, if I can get some advice about not making it sound like crap. That's all I've got so far, crap.

i am the robots 06-13-2005 10:16 AM

I had some money to blow, so I traded Blackwater Park into FYE for Store Credit, then bought the bonus edition, the dude at the desk just kinda looked at me weird, but it was worth it, Still Day Beneath the sun and Patterns In The Ivy Pt. II make the album like 200x better.

Deth 06-13-2005 10:18 AM

I downloaded those two tracks. I think they are OK, nothing great.

Nice trade in though.

I dunno man, Still Day Beneath the sun is possibly the best Opeth song I've heard.

azbassman 06-13-2005 10:29 AM

I havent heard any of those songs do you have to download them?

bucket 06-13-2005 10:41 AM

I'm trying to get a someone to buy my BWP for $10 so I can buy the one with those two bonus tracks, but there are no takers :upset:

Stupid Phish heads

I love both of the extra tracks.

the2stranger 06-13-2005 10:42 AM

now I think that's your only possibility.
Opeth released a 2 cd bonus version of BWP, but that's long out of press.
so unless you can find it second hand, you have to d/l

bucket 06-13-2005 11:12 AM

:upset:

That explains why Sam Goody only has the BWP with no bonuses.

There's always amazon anyways.

Deth 06-13-2005 12:36 PM

Do you want me to upload? Of course you do! Watch for them.

Couple of things:

1. I can now record decent quality stuff so that's good.
2. I sound like crap today and will leave the uploading till tomorrow.
3. There is a whole lot of silence and it's about a second off due to me hitting play on iTunes and then record on audacity.
4. What do we do about the fade-out?

i am the robots 06-13-2005 01:09 PM

I love how the kids at the mall near my house don't buy good cds, seriously, I can find any Opeth, In Flames, Korn, Death, Quo Vadis CD at the FYE there, cause nobody buys them, when City Of Evil was released last weak, it took them like 5 days to sell the 10 they had on display in the front, lol.

Deth 06-13-2005 01:18 PM

My favorite is when kids who think they are so hardc0re come in and head straight for Korn albums.

the2stranger 06-13-2005 02:15 PM

I once was palying BWP ( the cd), and some nu-metal kids came up to me, and said they thought Korn was more heavy and harsher
I laughed, and continued listening to Opeth :D

Deth 06-13-2005 06:55 PM

Well duh. Of course Korn is harder, they are played on MTV. Music Television. They know far more than you do.

The Cynic 06-13-2005 07:58 PM

Can someone post up the lyrics to Into the Frost of Winter? I tried searching on the web but nothing came up.

Darkness 06-13-2005 07:58 PM

Go to the Opeth site.

bucket 06-13-2005 08:13 PM

www.letssingit.com has every Opeth song I believe.

i am the robots 06-13-2005 08:33 PM

Uhhh guys.... you do realize that Korn is a different type of heavy? and that comparing them to Opeth is like comparing Ham to Frosted Flakes?

Musically - Korn = Heavier
Vocally - Opeth = Heavier

i am the robots 06-13-2005 08:37 PM

Actually, I was wrong, Korn is equally as heavy, their music is more based on primal aggression, wheras Opeth is based on complexity and harshness.

Det_Nosnip 06-13-2005 08:57 PM

 Here he goes again...

Darkness 06-13-2005 08:59 PM

I can't help but laugh when someone says Korn is heavy. Just stop posting about it please.

i am the robots 06-13-2005 09:21 PM

Just wondering.... how is Korn not heavy? I agree, they have soft songs, but when I say Korn is heavy, I'm referring to their pre-Issues work.

The Cynic 06-13-2005 09:28 PM
Go to the Opeth site.
It's not there.

Darkness 06-13-2005 10:04 PM

If you ask me, I think that Untouchables is there heaviest. There pre-issues stuff didn't really have anything really heavy about it, just a bit of a crunch in the guitars I guess... IMO ofcourse.

I won't argue with you though, you obviously know a lot more about nu-metal then me.

Uhhh dude, Untouchables is their softest album.... are you sure you don't have something mixed up?

Darkness 06-13-2005 10:07 PM

... Untouchables is way heavier man. I have it. I use to be a fan. Its not as raw as there older stuff, but it has more a metallic crunch.

Det_Nosnip 06-13-2005 10:38 PM

Since when does it matter? Heavy doesn't necessarily mean "good."

i am the robots 06-13-2005 10:41 PM

It does not necessarily mean good, I agree, but to say something like this isn't heavy is just plain old retarded.

Anyhow, back to Opeth, does anybody have a clue as to when the new album is coming out?

bucket 06-13-2005 11:16 PM

moop (the one who got a photo with the Martins the other day) said Lopez told him that it would probably be 6 months.

The post is a page or two back.

RouteOne 06-13-2005 11:18 PM

Korn isn't that heavy.....they just suck.

bucket 06-13-2005 11:20 PM

No more Korn talk... Opeth, yes.

Seriously.

soadrulez 06-13-2005 11:24 PM

there are a lot of great metal bands out there. but there is only one god: OPETH

Deth 06-14-2005 11:27 AM

I think Mikeal said that there were 6 tracks on it and they were considering another 2.

Close to Morningrise...

i am the robots 06-14-2005 11:59 AM

Sounds pretty good, also, sorry about my ridiculous Korn argueing last night :D.

Adam Jones is GOD 06-14-2005 12:00 PM

Anyone got tickets to the Mean Fiddler gig in London?

i am the robots 06-14-2005 12:05 PM

Seeing that I live in America, no.

Adam Jones is GOD 06-14-2005 12:05 PM

Well you can safely assume im referring to the UK Opeth fans then :p

Besides, you get the SOTU tour.

the2stranger 06-14-2005 12:07 PM

^

I'm going to the Opeth gig in Holland, once atleast, maybe twice :D

Adam Jones is GOD 06-14-2005 12:09 PM

What size venues are they playing in other countries? I still find it weird that they sell out one of London's larger venues for their DVD, and now are playing some of the smallest venues this time around

clearvision 06-14-2005 12:20 PM

My mates are pansies and won't go...Opeth = too hxc

I'm in love with still life atm

Still life > Me

Adam Jones is GOD 06-14-2005 12:21 PM

I had that and Morningview on my MP3 player today. The difference is still amazing.

The Moor is such a fun song to play too
