Jethro Tull
The Faces
Jeff Beck
Blood Sweat And Tears
Chicago
Doobie Brothers
Pete Townsend solo work
David Gilmour solo work
David Bowie
Steely Dan
Steppenwolf
3 Dog Night
Max Webster
Procol Harum

and I'd take Peter Gabiel over Genesis anyday IMO.

I'm looking for drumming that just owns. I know there's endless directions you can go in, but I've gotten inoto Mayhem lately, and I need more. Not so much straight blastbeats throughout. But just dominating drumming. Maybe early Carcass or Nile is what I'm looking for.

I was probably also looking towards Mithras, and a few early Death albums that I still don't have. And I don't know why I haven't ordered them yet. I'll get Leprosy, Human, and maybe Scream Bloody Gore.

If you like ISIS you could try out Neurosis, or Explosions in the Sky and 65daysofstatic.

What is the best Queensr˙che album? Apart from Operation: Mindcrime.

Operation: Mindcrime is such an incredible album.

Im looking for some bands that sound similar to Children of Bodom and In Flames. Good vocals, not to harsh, but with the great guitar and keys.

I love DT, ill try the other two. Much thanks.

GenuineImitation 07-04-2005 08:44 PM

Can any one recommend any good kalmah albums or songs. I only heard a song or two and I liked what I heard.

MAthiAS 07-04-2005 09:07 PM

Well they've only got three albums, and it pretty much varies from person to person which one is the best. So check out whichever one(s) the songs you've heard are on. I personally like Swampsong the best, though I haven't listened to They Will Return all that much. My favorite song of theirs is definitely Heroes to Us.

I'll check out Swampsong when I get some cash. Thanks for the help.

Add Emperor to that. They're a good start for black metal.

Edit: beaten

Some Dead Soul Tribe sounds fairly similar to Tool, especially their self titles album.

Earshot sound almost exactly the same, up to the point where they could be a cover band.

Indukti are like tool but with violins and largely are instrumental.

James Howlett 07-07-2005 05:24 AM

Also try Oceanseize. Their sound is a bit more relaxed than Tool but it has the same feel to it (for me).

slaughteredfirst 07-09-2005 11:34 PM

Hey, can someone recommend me some Opeth songs.

I have a couple, but they are good but I have yet to hear the greatness that a lot of people speak of.
