Him and Shavo were laughing and talking while he was playing at the last show I went to. Guess he was simply having a good day.
|
I was watching System of A Down live on mtv (i know). and when john was playing his whole body moved except his head. he just started straight ahead while playing toxicity.

Where in Tucson do you live azbassman? I also live in Tucson. |
Hahahahaha yeah exactly.
Watching John is like watching a robot. But he's awesome. And im pretty sure John was talking to Shavo when he wasn't playing. Because that'd be kind of hard. :smash: |
He does. I don't have any video of the show I went to, but he also talks and smiles on the Almost Acoustic Christmas video.

He's hypnotized. :p He seems alot more serious than the others that's for sure. |
THere's nothing wrong with being serious during a show. Look at Neil Peart. He is amazing and he rarely smiles when he's playing.
|
maybe john plays better when hes mad?
|
He's Not Mad....
He's Just Not All "humorous" Like Daron Likes To Put It. But Thats A Good Thing, Cuz Thats What Makes Him Different And Unique |
I have a 52 minute live show on my computer where Daron makes John smile while playing Sugar. John has a nice smile. I think he needs to smile more often so people who don't really know System don't think he's a grump.
P.S. I like fruit. |
Like he really cares what people think about him. :p
He's a drummer... lol :) |
^ lol... YEAH THATS TRUE.
BUT ITS KOOL. CUZ THAT MAKES HIM, HIM |
Im a drummer
Bleh this topic is kind of retarted.Who cares what John looks like. Anyway, what do you guys expect from Systems next cd? I expect a nice blend of this new style they're going for and a little classic soad like how they did attack. |

I hope they try something new. |
Same.
I hope whatever they do involves some screams and growls. |
Im a drummer
I was joking. Drummers kick ass. Next album will be probably something different than before. Maybe daron will add more electronic stuff in there as he uses it alot in concerts now. I love how in Kill Rock n Roll when daron says something, serj follows with a same line but growled. Sounds awesome. |
Im really hoping the go back into the harder stuff, like the self-titled. I like the new stuff too, so a fusion of both would be cool
|
I'd like something new like the electronic stuff that Daron adds during the concerts, mixed with the raw energy from the first album, with Serj doing about 80-90% of the vocals. Doubt its gonna happen that way but its what I'd like.
|
I got Hypnotize the other day, and I must say I was very impressed. I have heard alot of negativity towards it but I think it is a great album. Of course what System fan doesn't miss Serj's growls from the earlier days, although they still occur they are definitely not as prevalent. I also liked one thing they added to the mix guitar solos, I always underestimated Daron but that fucker can rip. I think the future works will see them return more to their original style, I just think that at the moment they have completely gained an understanding of great songwriting and they are exploiting it as much as possible. But soon I think they will be able to incorporate it into the style that has appeared in the past and what has made them unique, and then they will truly be an amazing band. Not that they already aren't of course. I believe that they started out completely unique and as far away from mainstream as they possibly could, but as they progressed and more and more people fell in love with them it became just another band. So they are just looking for ways to reinvent themselves or at least that is what I think.
|
Daron can rip eh?Like that one chord solo at the end of attack
Yeah mambuto that sounds awesome. Electronic stuff would soiund great added with some disorted guitar, double bass and thick bass lines, topped with Serj singing. Ah man I just creamed myself :p |
Yeh it'd be awesome if the new album had more growling and screaming.
|
^ yup. that would be the best album ever! but i dont think they'll do it. i mean, they changed their style 4 a reason already. so doing it, would b a step backwards. BUT I WOULD LOVE A NEW ALBUM LIKE "TOXICITY"

Psycho solo is by far daron's best one imo. Lonely day solo is his best wankage I've heard yet though. |
You whats strange. My friend and I (he doesn't really like heavier music) were making a short movie in one of our classes. He brought a bunch of songs, mainly from DDR, to put on the movie as backround music. So I was listening to it and he had put Vicinity Of Obscenity on there. He said that really liked that song.
I just find that ironic. Mainly because I find that a song that if you don't like SOAD, you probaly won't like it. |
www.systemofadownonline.com says that Daron is adding in electronica for the next ablum

Yes toxicity was definitely their best, and if another one came out like that maybe it would start a revolution of kicking all these pant saggin wanna be wangstas off of tv and rock would be back in the mainlight. But it would take more than soad to do that but it would be a start. |
Nice find mbrinton138! :thumb:
Yeah psycho, has a cool solo, but Darons not really what I think of when I think, amazing guitarist. I just like SOAD for there unique sound, not there musical ability. :thumb: |

oh no. that means more old school hollywood |
Maybe another song or two with the same basic idea as Prison Song but still significantly different would be very refreshing I think. Perhaps a song with characteristics from Prison Song (like 'screaming' and heavy guitar), Viscinity of Obscenity (interesting lyrics o_O), and Lonely Day (perhaps the solo since it's so riptastic =P) would make an interesting song. Dunno, just...Dreaming...get it? Dreaming? Hypnotize? AHAHAHAHAAAA...ha...ha...wow...tough crowd. Sorry...

Well that was lame :smash:
