I don't see why so many people bash Dominicci, he sings similar to LaBrie (listening to Metropolis live from "When Dream and Day Reunite: Live")

The only song where his vocals are any good is "The Afterlife", which I think he did better than LaBrie could have. Other than that, he's not a great singer. Just not that adaptable. Just try and imagine him doing "Learning to Live" or "The Glass Prison" or "Lines in the Sand". He'd ruin those songs. |
Ok,I have looked through a fair few pages of this thread, but im not lloking at all of them. So if this has been asked before i'm sorry.
Anyways, why the hell wont DT come to Australia? They would easily get good ticket sales. Maybe they just dont like our accents, lol. Is there any known reason why they havent come yet? |
I would love DT to come to Australia! :)
I would fly to Perth just to see them, and I live in Canberra, so that's quite a flight :p My favourite DT album is SDOIT, but Images & Words is awesome too. |

No idea! But I think (hope) Gigantour is coming to Australia? I think I have heard people talking about it... |
Oh yeah, and by the way, is anybody else here going to see "A Night With Dream Theater" at the Hammersmith Apollo in London? :naughty:
I am, and I CANNY WAIT!!!! :D
Yes sir, 2 nights in a row I'm gonna be there :D
The only song where his vocals are any good is "The Afterlife", which I think he did better than LaBrie could have. I personally think WDADU is a good album with some great tracks on there, although whenever they have been done live with LaBrie on vocals they are much better. |

Yeh exactly. LaBrie is just more mature of a singer. His voice is more adaptable. He's better, more concentrated. Dominici was always shaky on vocals. |

yeah, it shows on the live version of 'another hand - the killing hand' |
...this has absolutely nothing (directly) to do with Dream Theater, but.....
Is it just me, or is there some strange link between Prog and Final Fantasy?!?! In my experience, almost every Prog fan I know likes FF. Just curious. I've noticed a couple of avatars on this thread related to the games..... anyone here a FF fan? |

Nobuo Uematsu is a great composer. check out The Black Mages - a band playing ff music in a more rock fashion. there's some great keyboard and guitar work check out this track by them: Dancing Mad |

Cool. I'm coming from Scotland maself :) |
This has probably been discussed before, but, the best songs in Portnoy's song trilogy are, from favorite to least:
The Glass Prison > This Dying Soul > The Root Of All Evil. Too bad they get progressively less good, but what's really interesting is listening to all three of them in a row. Pretty mind blowing. |

The Root Of all Evil - Glass Prison - This Dying Soul
during glass prison and dying soul, they seem to wander off somewhere else and dont concentrate enough on the structure. |
No idea!

I have heard, however, that if it does come to Aus the line up will be alot different. I just hope they would keep DT on it. |
