Oh no, it also had that infuriating Smash Mouth song

HEY NOW YOU'RE AN ALL STAR, GET YOUR GAME ON, GOO PLAYYY
HEY NOW YOU'RE A ROCK STAR, GET THE SHOW ON, GEET PAAAID

Ugh.

Thanks for the unpleasant memories, Alex :-\
It's really not a bad song. It just got really over-played in its time.

Taste_My_Scythe 07-11-2005 08:25 PM
"I'm the PMS Avenger; I only work 3 days a week. Do you have a problem with that?!"

"No, no, no! That's fine."
 That's good. I'm definately seeing this movie now.

Eh, I big to differ there.

Jom 07-11-2005 08:27 PM
And the father and son team.

"I am Pencilman!"
"And I am Son of Pencilman!"
"We erase crime!"
Refl. That's one of the better lines in that movie.

I remember the bowling ball guy, too.

Steerpike 07-11-2005 08:27 PM

As I said, my favorite from the try-out scene is still The Waffler.

"State your name and superpower."

"I... am The Waffler. And with my Griddle of Justice, I bash the enemy in the head, or I burn them like so." (places griddle to his own face) "Yeearrr!"
Eh, I big to differ there.
I guess I'm just not that picky. :p

That was Janine Garofalo actually. And I probably misspelled that, because I always do.

I just got done watching Clerks, what an awesome movie. It was hilarious, and the way that it was made was great. I love Kevin Smith he is one of my favorite directors.

Has anyone seen Fantastic 4 yet? If so how did you like it, I am thinking about going to see it some time soon.

Riva 07-11-2005 08:28 PM

Great name change, R.Blythe. :)

No one will trust your motives now though. Hehe.

*Tall, enigmatic man in a cape walks up to table*

*Mystery Men look hopeful*

Enigmatic man: "I.........

*Opens cape to reveal............. a pink tutu*

"...Am Ballerina Man!"

*Dances*

Nope. I think my family wants to go see it though; personally I don't care. I'm just psyched about seeing Charlie and the Chocolate Factory on the 15th.

That was a chick, Jom. Jaenene Garofolo (or however it's spelled)

I dont like R.Blythe anymore. Ryan Blythe is mean, he blamed me for the foodfight and I got a detention.

I was just thinking about watching Clerks tonight.

I saw Fantastic 4, it was amazingly mediocre. It did a lot to look impressive, but ultimately accomplished very little. They definitely need a sequel for this movie to have served any real purpose. And the acting for the most part was subpar. They made up for Jessica Alba's nearly complete lack of dialogue ability by putting her either in a tight spandex suit or having her strip off her clothes in order to turn completely invisible. Which, I'll admit, did bump the movie up a few notches.

Illmatic 07-11-2005 08:34 PM

One good movie that will come out this summer: The 40-Year-Old Virgin, starring Steve Carrell and Paul "Brian Fantana" Rudd. Steve Carrell makes it worth seeing.

Good gawd, how 'bout Pudge?

To be honest, I'm getting sick of the superhero movies. It's becoming a trend; every superhero is having a movie made out of them. I swear I'm going to see a Rocket Robinhood movie soon.

I may go see fantasic four. That is if my friends decide to go see it.

Lunch 07-11-2005 08:44 PM

Yea, because Marvel is doing their movie-making thing right now. Honestly, their only great production was X-Men 2. Spiderman 1 and 2 are decent and good respectively, and the other one are usually crap. Daredevil, The Hulk, Punisher, Electra, and pretty much Fantastic 4 were garbage.

The first two Blade movies were very good, but they finished their run before the Marvel films really starting rolling out every couple months. But they got greedy with the third one anyway.

Id see it just for J-Alba.

Yeah I quite liked X men and Spiderman, which are the only ones I've seen. I've heard bad things especially about The Hulk. I thought Daredevil looked like it was worthy of the trash bin as well.

Haha, good point.

Well, a lot of people got name changes who I feel had good names, and didn't need them at all. I feel my name was horrid, and I was long overdue for a change.

I'm off, tired. Whose Line is still on. See you all tomorrow probably. Night.

Cain 07-11-2005 08:56 PM

My new thread is up complete with article. :D Heavy metal fans and classical fans who are interested should check it out: in the next few weeks it'll become even more interesting to read. RCA, Steerpike, anybody else? Care to check it out?

The first installment. http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=364192

Anybody else click on my link?

Lucas, the thread looked great when I skimmed it. I'll read it more in depth later, I promise.

Thank you. :) Keep in mind it's only the first part. More will come in the following weeks and they'll likely be more interesting because they actually talk about heavy metal instead of setting up the background for the essay's premise.

Yeah, I have always hates Stuart Scott ever since he was like "Stop, at the hot spot, set up for the wide open shot" sung to the tune of Ruff Ryders Anthem by DMX. And the whole Boo-Ya thing is lame, so is the lazy eye.

And he just hosts all the corny game shows like Teammates, Dream Job, and Stump the Schwab.

magicbus 07-11-2005 10:18 PM

Late, but I'm pretty sure Dane Cook played "The Waffler" in Mystery Men.

MBS 07-11-2005 11:11 PM

Well, practice today was fun. 7 hours straight of Blues based classic rock jams:cool:.

I found out, I'm quite decent at drums if you give me a while with them. We played a song where me (rythmn guitarist) got on drums, the lead got on rythmn, my drummer played lead, and some kid we invited over to jam with us played bass.

And it sounded pretty damn good.

We played Knockin' on Heaven's Door.

Steerpike 07-11-2005 11:15 PM

Hey, Cain, I found a tab for Midnight by Satch and I have a question:

How the hell do I play that? I look at it and feel like such a noob.

Use all tapping.

Your right hand or what ever hand you use for fretting has to hit the strings like a real hard hammer on to make it work.

Also helps if you pickups are high output to make the sound come in louder.

/used to know the song

You mean like two-hand tapping? Ah crap. I suck enough at regular tapping as it is...

Dr. Jake Destructo 07-11-2005 11:24 PM

Can someone give me some easy tapping songs? I'm a tapping n00b. :-/

Steerpike 07-11-2005 11:26 PM

The only other song I have the tab for with tapping is Strange Wings by Savatage, and that's one bar with a 16th note triplets arpeggio.

Intro to "One" by Metallica. Very easy.
