Oh boy refugees from the pit.
|
The Pit is gone, yay! There was nothing very good about that forum except my posts and Nacho's threads. I feel bad for all the Pit-only users who wasted their time on a music site without learning anything about music.
|
I'm gonna miss it for a while, occasionally there was something good. Hopefully someday everyone can behave and it might be re-instated.
Oh well....I could always start trolling PN & WI. |
Oh boy refugees from the pit.
I'm not going to spam the place up. |
I never suggested you were going to.
|
I'll try my best not to.
I'm still in the 'floater' stage of refugee-ism. I don't know where I wanna call home yet. |
There's still the Politics, Sports, and Entertainment forums for people who want to be on a music forum but don't want to talk about music for some reason :)
|
of course

Random comment: after watching "An Evening With Kevin Smith" I have zero respect for Prince.
|
Pussy Control is the greatest song of the last century.
I take offense. >: | |
He once requested a camel at 3:00am in the middle of January, he's a dick, and when he starts talking about religion he makes the dumbest f'ucking points ever. And honestly, I think his music sucks.
|
And honestly, I think his music sucks.
Me too. I never understood why he's such a big deal. |
Purple Rain is pretty damn solid.
|
I don't think Kevin Smith is any less of a dick, tbh.
|
I've never given any of his albums a proper listen, but I've been completely turned off by anything by him I've ever heard.
|
Well, even if he is a dick, the guy can play guitar, thats for sure.
|
His voice makes me want to dance.
|
Oh, I'll deny prince.
|
I dig shockadelica, especially when ween used it in lmlyp
|
I bet after prince makes love he gives lectures on the bible and then somehow manages to segue into how the music business sucks.
|
I'd have sex with prince, that's how awesome he is.
|
I just got Purple Rain and it's great.
|
But only because of the aforementioned pillow-talk.
|
My contribution - Prince rocks.
|
I would not mind a world without prince.
|
hey you wouldnt even know the difference
except there would be no lmlyp |
Purify yourselves in the waters of Lake Minnetonka, motherfucks.

i think i'll post this here since it's there community thread and i have nowhere else to post it.
i need to know something. i've recently discovered that i misread the tuition for the art school i had in mind, mistaking the tuition per semester for tuition per year! it turns out to be 2x what i thought. so here's my situation. i want to live in the pacific northwest. like San Francisco, Seattle, Portland, etc. i want to spend my YOUTH there, enjoying being young in a place where i'd enjoy it, since i haven't really been able to where i am as a result of not really fitting in with too many people. i don't care about spending my adult years there. why? because i won't be young. i won't be able to meet the people there while in college and such. i'll just be another working adult. the problem? all the art schools in places i want to go cost too much for me. Cornish in Seattle is $22,000 a year. PNCA in Portland is $17,000 a year. all the AI's all over the place cost well over $20,000 a year. my parents won't pay that much, and someone my age can't just save up that much. my parents are insisting i go to a college in the midwest and in all those conservative areas. the LAST thing i want to do is spend my youth in yet ANOTHER place where i won't fit in (even more than ever, this time) and then move to a nice place when i'm just another adult. am i crazy, or does this make sense? why does college cost so much? i thought there were supposed to be equal opportunities for people without that much money. and a question now. i am willing to actually NOT GO to college if it means i will get to at least live somewhere where i can be happy. a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, to me, is not worth wasting the last 4 years of my youth. am i just shallow for rejecting college for happiness? maybe i am, maybe not. |
You should do what makes you happy. College isn't as necessary as some people make it out to be. But I admit, it does help.
But I am damn glad we have the HECS system over here so that we don't have to pay our tuition fees up front and make fucked up decisions like that, like you unlucky bastards. |
uhh, guys....where'd the mailing list go? I click the thread called "Mailing List" and I get the vs. thread.
|
Reject college for happiness if you have to, dude. Everything in life comes down to happiness; that's what everyone is striving for at the base of every action. Do whatever it takes to get there.
Word. This coming year is my last year in highschool and I'm starting to seriously consider whether going straight to college is a good idea... |
uhh, guys....where'd the mailing list go? I click the thread called "Mailing List" and I get the vs. thread.
Try the thread called "Album Trading" or whatever. |
Try the thread called "Album Trading" or whatever.
aha! thanks alot. |
But I am damn glad we have the HECS system over here so that we don't have to pay our tuition fees up front and make fucked up decisions like that, like you unlucky bastards.
Technically, you don't have to pay up front here either. They have loans and ****. Personally, I've been very lucky to have a lot of financial support so I haven't had to deal with the headache. I'm told the system works. But in the end, you basically end up like most students: in debt. As for sr800bk, I'd say at least consider the schools your parents want. Yeah, yeah, the part of me living in Northern California (an hour away from mountains and the ocean) says there's no better place to be. But who's to say those midwestern schools don't have something to offer? Ideally, if you can get to any school in a nice, diverse city, you'll have good experiences. College will likely help you get to the places you want to be in your professional life. Like Littleman said, it's not the absolute to personal success and happiness. But it sure does help. Alls I'm saying is at least be open to other possibilites to the things you have in mind. But if you can finagle your way up the coast... |
You should definitely wear it because you're probably cool enough to get away with it. Just be really sarcastic about it, like WEAR it with sarcasm. Body language can say a lot about how ironic you dress.
Also I had one more thread I wanted to make in the Pit before it went away but I never got the chance to :( |

Yeah, I guess we just end up with slightly less debt because ours is deferred through tax. P.S. I'll be in debt for at least a couple more years. |
if you don't wear that ironic shirt you're not indie
|
I went thrifting today and bought a Good Charlotte shirt for ninety cents. It fits me really well but should I actually wear it?
Yeah, you should wear it. But cross out "Good" and write "Bad." |
Yeah, I guess we just end up with slightly less debt because ours is deferred through tax.
Yeah, I think this is where most American students get comparatively screwed over. Although like I said, I'm golden. Pays to be a minority, literally. |
Yeah, you should wear it. But cross out "Good" and write "Bad."
This is what I was going to say. Or try to deface it in some way to say God Speed You! Good Charlottes |
