Life Without Buildings - Any Other City
SDRE - Diary

Life Without Buildings is great.
SDRE album remains to be one of my favorites of all time, and 'Seven' probably is my favorite song of all time.

Icky Thump is better than I expected. I like it quite a bit

Still digging Sigh - Hangman's Hymn
some of the keyboards, strings, and synths sound soooo bad but the album is still solid.

Anxious 06-20-2007 07:41 PM

The song "Amnerika" by Frank Zappa, outtake one with vocals by Napoleon Murphy Brock. I want to know what time sig it is in. Something crazy no doubt.

Robert Crumb 06-20-2007 08:04 PM

Townes Van Zandt - For the Sake of the Song: First Album

Been wanting to hear some of his music for a while. Wonderful.

Bartender 06-20-2007 08:08 PM

Solomon Burke - Proud Mary

Solomon singing, amongst other things, versions of "Proud Mary" and a song more people should know, "I Can't Stop (No No No)". I like it. I was especially glad of how good his "I Can't Stop" is, excited as I was to hear it. I kind of miss the mysterious second voice on Arthur Conley's version, though.

I've listened a couple times. The first listen, I only liked a couple of songs, including the title track. I tried it again, and the guitar work is impressing me more. The weird folk-type stuff they add in doesn't do it for me.

one of my favorite underrated (?) songs on Diary is Grendel. it's so awesome how it goes from a low-key, meandering piece to this heavy, crushing shit. and the bassline is so sweet.

I don't hate him...I don't love him. But yeah, I understand what you mean. That's why I like Mingus more, it's easier on the ears.

The Arctic Monkeys new album is quite good, IMO. It actually took me a while to like it, but I've been digging it for a while now. Why they decided to make Brianstrom the first single will forever confuse me.

oh, and the White Album. Been digging that as well.
