my mom used to have the same problem and she had to eventually get a special mouthguard that cost her like $300

i just lost dental insurance so i will be doing no such thing anytime soon

gag balls are really uncomfortable

found an old mouth guard from when i took karate back in the day

it's a really shitty one though like the kind that you don't even mold to your teeth

pretty uncomfortable but it does keep my front teeth from touching which is what i need so cool
