I don't like to talk about Led Zeppelin in this thread and try to avoid it but I have to say that Zeppelin III is their most underrated album. It's my second favorite avter Houses.
w00t. also super cool post count!
Why can't we talk about Zeppelin? We have to get the Led out somehow. Your postcount would be cool but Badmoon already did it. It's old news now. |
My favorite is Houses then II then I.
In order. |
My favorite is Houses then II then I.
In order.
I >all to me. Seriously, Presence is underrated. |
I still have to digress that Led Zeppelin III is my favourite.
All their albums are good to me. :) |
classic rock is my favorite genre of music. my favorite band is led zeppelin, and i love the grateful dead, along with pink floyd, the who, etc.
|
On the Grateful Dead topic:
I am going to get Skull & Roses for my birthday. :thumb: How many songs on it are covers? Badmoon's review metioned that a lot of the songs were covers, not that it's a bad thing. |
No way man, I haven't copied it off anywhere, being my favourite band, I know a lot about the Doors, so I thought it'd be stupid not to write a featured artists on them.
I've finnished it already and it's due in for the end of March :( I'm such a nerd...
awesome. i'm looking forward to it. I prefer the second side to Zep III. Two of my favourite Zeppelin songs are Gallows Pole and Hey Hey What Can I Do, I think they do a great job of more folky acoustic songs, just as good as their rock songs. edit- and i didnt mean favourite songs from Zep III, I just meant out of all Zeps songs. |
Bring it on Home
+ Babe Im Gonna Leave You = wicked awesome |
Tangerine, Friends, That's The Way, Gallow's Pole = the greatest

w00t. also super cool post count!
Actually, considering it's a Led Zeppelin album, III is an underrated classic rock album period. |
Tangerine, Friends, That's The Way, Gallow's Pole = the greatest
Very true. That's the Way is a great song. Does anyone know if that's a fiddle at the end of gallows pole? i always thought it was a fiddle, but someone told me it was just Page playing his electric. I just wanna clarify. |
Would you consider earlier Funkadelic CLassic Rock or what Funk ROck moreso or what? or shall we call it Pfunk

I'm 100% sure that's an electric guitar. |

I'd call them "awesome". They're funk-rock, but they released terrific albums in the 70's and did lots of drugs, so they qualify. |
JPJ knows most of them
I feel so proud :)
I ended up ordering Wlly and the Poor Boys, Beginnings, Aoxomoxoa, and Blue Light Rain.
I just got Aoxomoxoa and love it, those are definitely good choices.
Jack Cassidy=Ownage on Bass(on the topic of Jefferson Airplane)
Yes he does, and on the topic of Jack Cassidy everyone check out Hot Tuna because they rock. And Funkadelic is awesome, I love Uncle Jam Wants You. EDIT: What happened to Badmoon's postcount  |
I'm 100% sure that's an electric guitar.
you know, you're right. i just listened to the song for the first time in a long time, and it doesn't even sound like a fiddle. maybe it was just how i remembered it in my head. |
When it first comes in, it kind of sounds like a fiddle, but then as it became more prominent it revealed itself as electric guitar.
It's funny, really; my two least favorite songs on III are the two most popular (Immigrant Song and Since I've Been Loving You). Also, when I was gushing about the great songs from III, I left out Bron-Y-Aur Stomp and Celebration Day. |
It's strange how everyone thinks of III as an entirely acoustic album, when in fact the first side is basically rock.

I can't believe more people don't listen to this record. I think it's easily their most compelling album.

Sometimes I really get in the mood for it, other times I don't. I still find LZ I to be my favorite. |
To each his own.

SilverTide
...Has anyone ever heard of this band??? i just recently heard them, and i think they are awesome! If you have heard them tell me watch cha think?
PS: they kinda have a classic rock sound to them, there no Led Zeppelin but they are still good IMO |
To each his own.
That's an evolution for you. I was expecting to hear how much you hate LZ I and that I suck :p |
Generic hard rock. If I want their kind of music it's listen to Ac/dc because Ac/dc has songs that i'll care to remember 5 hours after listening to them.
|
I've gotten sick of Zeppelin for the moment. I'm trying to explore some other types of music. Recently i've been gettin into The Roots, The Temptations, Phish, Oar, Kanye West, Elmore James, and, umm..Counting Crows..
|
These people were giving away their demos at CD Warehouse and I didn't think they were anything special. Just another hard rock group.
