Tyr 04-28-2006 02:48 PM

In Sweden we have to wait 'til May 3rd.

kurrpt 04-28-2006 02:49 PM

you are just trying to make me feel better now

ATC 04-28-2006 02:53 PM
That's what happens to alot of albums that I download. So far off the top of my head the only downloads that haven't worn off are PoS, Lhasa, and Devin Townsend.
I should send you some Lila Downs. Being the only other Lhasa fan on here, you'd love her.

Tyr 04-28-2006 02:55 PM

The worst part is that I must wait 'til the week after that since I'm away on a field trip in the middle of nowhere with my school. :upset:

repcak 04-28-2006 03:21 PM

i know that you don't like tool, so i don't mind :p

i buy the albums from bands i love....

Syncratic 04-28-2006 03:21 PM

Have you guys seen Tool on the cover of 'Revolver' yet?

Odd at best. Danny looks cool, and so does Maynard's monocle.

UpperDecker 04-28-2006 03:54 PM

did you see this really messed up video yet? http://www.yikers.com/video_singer_from_tool_throws_temper_tantrum_on_stage.html

randomthought9 04-28-2006 04:05 PM

Meh, he just threw a mic.

Turkish 04-28-2006 04:23 PM

Is that the video where his voice cracks and he gets pissed and walks off stage.

UpperDecker 04-28-2006 04:27 PM
Is that the video where his voice cracks and he gets pissed and walks off stage.
yes.

Turkish 04-28-2006 04:30 PM

Yeah, I'd get pissed off, but I wouldn't walk off stage...wonder if he came back.

omgwtfboogie 04-28-2006 06:18 PM

I feel bad for Maynard in that. I kinda understand why he left.

deadohiosky9 04-28-2006 06:40 PM

It wouldn't let me watch it, it just took me to the home page. dammit.

infinate_ammo 04-28-2006 07:32 PM
Yeah it says that in the booklet but you'd have to rip them off. :-/
WHAT THE FUCK (caps)

dUSK 04-28-2006 07:37 PM

I'm currently listening to 10,000 Days, for the first time. It's pretty awesome, but it's going to take many more listens before I love it (NB: This will probably occur by the end of today). Anyone else get reminded of Eulogy by some of Adam's riff's though? It's happened to me twice in the first 4 songs. The album art is great as well.

NP: The Pot

infinate_ammo 04-28-2006 07:44 PM

What does NP stand for?

Daven 04-28-2006 07:45 PM

How can you post on music forums and not know that? :p

Insipid2000 04-28-2006 09:06 PM

I thought maynard sounded like ahh....James Blunt when I first listened to The Pot but It grew on me and I now love it.

Werny 04-28-2006 09:56 PM

God the packaging is retarded. They try to make it look fancy with the cumbersome lenses but it just looks stupid and they don't do anything. The guy at Sanity said that he spent an hour and a half looking through them but all I got from looking through them was a blurred view of the (awesome) pictures.

Was anyone else reminded of The Dreadful Hours by My Dying Bride when the thunderstorm comes in during the title track? I also noticed the section in Jambi that sounds like it's lifted right out of... any song from Nothing by Meshuggah, right down to Danny riding the china (er... that sounds wrong to anyone who doesn't know drums).

Killtacular 04-28-2006 09:58 PM

James Blunt in The Pot?

Nice.

Keep trying man. It took me a while before I could see it properly, but it's cool when it works. Everything will be really clear when you've done it properly. You kind of need to de-focus you eyes.

RideTheSpiral 04-28-2006 10:10 PM

But you can't get them at an angle to see anything...

Actually yeah that's awesome. Like a magic eye.

Jedi Mind Tricks win.
I love the ones with the band members, especially that mirror in Maynards.
I like Danny's the best but they're all awesome.

No nothing.

Is she hot?
I just like Atmosphere.....
Probably because you appear to be a stupid scene kid.

Most of us have had the album for about two weeks...

Coke.

Great band. One of the most original I heard last year.

Haha.
wait, did Plex just hack RideTheSpiral's account? :p
Yes I control his brain! Oogabooga

Its a pretty crappy setlist.

I think I have everything DT has released...
Yeah there are only a few songs I actually like on the album, including "I write sins not tragedies", "build god, then we'll talk", "but its better if you do" and maybe 1 or 2 others. The rest are just crap or not different enough seen as though that is the main reason im liking them
Stop agreeing with every single post.

Maynard said it was about L. Ron Hubbard.
Where did he say this? The meaning of Eulogy has always been up for debate, and so you just saying that doesn't mean much to me. :p

It's not that I don't think you're credible, but I just wouldn't think that the many arguments I've heard over Eulogy would have happened if Maynard had stated what you said.
I thought I read it in an interview... maybe not though... :-/

Nope. Just demos.

I ran over a cat on my motorbike. That was sweet.

I felt pretty bad when I ran over a koala.

Has he been eating blue sherbert?
With Innocence Faded, Raise the Knife, Another Won, the Octavarium songs and Six Degrees, it can't be bad.
Innocence Faded is one of the worst songs on Awake imo. Why not play Voices or Scarred. Raise the Knife is pretty bad and they already played most of 6D on Budokan...

Yes it does.

infinate_ammo 04-28-2006 10:13 PM

What are you talking about ride the spiral? The are set perfectly to look at the images provided. edit: My bad you figered it out.
How can you post on music forums and not know that? :p
I'm bad at the internet

dUSK 04-28-2006 10:14 PM

Magic eye indeed. Yellow/Blue one with the face and skulls is my favourite. :D

infinate_ammo 04-28-2006 10:24 PM

I love the ones with the band members, especially that mirror in Maynards.

Spiritofmosa 04-28-2006 10:25 PM

haha im picturing a tool fanboy sitting on his bed wearing the goofy lenses trying to look for clues within the album booklet

dUSK 04-28-2006 10:28 PM
haha im picturing a ool fanboy sitting on his bed wearing the goofy lenses trying to look for clues within the album booklet
Well, that pretty much how it would look. But looking for clues in relation to what, I might ask? Not every single thing that Tool does has to have a hidden meaning behind it or be cryptic in some way. Some things can just be enjoyed because they are cool, you know.

Moses 04-28-2006 10:34 PM

any hidden meanings or re arranged tracklistings ?

I realised before that it's my left eye, it's legally blind and yeah doesn't do what it's told. I think I know what you mean, like you have to blend the two pictures together, and yeah I can't do that.

Damn! Waste of $25, though at least I have the pride of getting it before any yanks.

FYI: one of my mates went to Sanity last night and pre-ordered it, and the guy just went out back and got it for him. Lucky prick.

Chu 04-29-2006 01:47 AM

Looks like it's out here then.

I'll make a trip to town for it soon.

Any reviews available yet? Although, with most Tool, I'll assume one's interpretation could be different to another's, so a review might not do justice.

I don't think anyone is able to review it now. This will take weeks to sink in, people will change their opinions of it in time. Albums do that, for example I reviewed Sideshow Symphonies by Arcturus and ranted on about how much of a disappointment it is, thinking the band was confused and were getting crap, now I think it's their second best effort and I listen to it constantly.

Voyage34 04-29-2006 06:03 AM

My copy of it arrived today :) (Though I had also downloaded it beforehand)

I haven't listened to it a lot yet so it hasn't really sunk in enough for me to give a good opinion on it, other than from initial impressions it is good.

The artwork is awesome though, the booklet is really impressive when you manage to get the glasses in focus on the images.
any hidden meanings or re arranged tracklistings ?
Am I the only person who never saw the point in rearranged tracklistings?
